Become an Edge Operator. As you journey through New Haven, you'll be faced with dangerous foes and challenging puzzles. But don't worry, you'll be trained to overcome any obstacle.
Awesome cyberpunk fighting game. This game has 3 modes sandbox and arcade and sandbox the game is amazing state for only being an alpha look at tabor still be crashing and stuff but we finna talk about how hot the girl character is you follow and the amazing fighting of a 1v5 to a 1v20. The game is def going to give you a workout 🏋️ you will feel the burn fighting 20 enemies non stop. The story is well writing and I felt the story kinda some parts I could relate to.I’m not done with the story yet but it’s on my to do list fersher ima be streaming and making videos on tik tok and twitch check me out @PANDABZ_OFFICAL and big shoutout to the dev for caring for community
Crazy Fun Cracking the Code. So, I dove into this game for quiet a while, and let me tell you, it's like living in a cool comic book. The story unfolds in these awesome comic-style scenes that just suck you right in. And playing the game? Easy peasy. Everything feels natural, like crouching – just like you do in real life.
But the real game-changer is The slow-motion moves, like something out of The Matrix. It's not just an extra – it's part of the whole story vibe. Every level also feels like you're the star in your own action movie. And get this, it's still in early access, but it's smoother than some of those big-name games.
If you're into games that feel personal and not just like a bunch of pixels, This thing is worth a shot.
Immersive Reality! Set in the dystopian city of New Haven, it offers a gritty Technoir Cyberpunk campaign that is both captivating and challenging. The narrative is compelling, placing you into a world where nothing is as it seems. As an Edge Operator, you’re tasked with exploring the neon-lit alleyways of New Haven, breaking into high-tech Cortex facilities, and uncovering the city’s secrets and lies. The atmospheric setting and richly detailed environment make you feel like you’re truly part of this unique dystopian world.
While the game is immersive and engaging, it does have its downfalls. One of the main issues I encountered was the game felt like it was running at a lower HZ. Compared to other VR games, DR doesn’t feel as smooth, best way I can explain this is imagine playing a game on 90hz then changing it to 72hz, that's what it feels like when playing Deceptive Reality. This can break the immersion and make the gameplay feel less fluid. This is an area that could definitely use some improvement.
Another thing that needs work is the hit detection. It’s hit or miss, which can be super frustrating during combat scenarios. It’s SO crucial for a game like this to have reliable hit detection and I do hope the Devs can work on that more!
On the brighter side, the Sandbox mode is a standout feature. It’s my favourite addition that allows you to experiment and play around freely. I would love having more weapons to choose from this as this would make this mode even more enjoyable and increase replayability, feels pretty lackluster at the moment but I have no doubt they'll be more added!
I must commend the developers for their constant updates. It’s clear that they are dedicated to improving the game and providing the best possible experience for players. I have no doubt they'll continue to make this the best they possibly can, there's plenty of people in the discord server and it's a nice community to be apart of, I recommend joining up :P.
DR is a must get game that offers an amazing narrative better than any other VR game in my opinion, challenging gameplay, and top notch world building. Despite some areas needing improvement (Combat, Choppy Game), it’s a must-play for any VR combat lover looking for a game that will keep them hooked from start to finish.
THE BEST CYBERPUNK INSPIRED VR GAME. The story is really fun to play and really interesting and the 360 combat with slow motion is just so fun I love it I would 100000!percent recommend this game
Promising. Decided to support it, as I see potential. Of course, everything seems raw now, and the battles feel like you're fighting with the air, but the atmosphere is already good.

Fun game but broken When I try and get into a level It just clips me through the floor
Awesome futuristic beat em up. Had a lot of fun playing this and glad I came across the demo via App Lab.
Im a big fan of sci fi and martial arts action movies and playing this game was just like being in one!
I don’t usually like punching games but the combat here feels very satisfying. I do think that pressing both grip and trigger buttons to make a fist would feel more ‘natural’ but just using the grip button is fine so not a deal-breaker.
Congrats to the devs for such great work. Look forward to seeing further updates in the future.
A promising game. I’m a big fan of the sort of cyberpunk aesthetic and themes in general and being able to experience it in VR is really amazing. As of writing this it’s still in early access 2.0 but from what’s available it’s very good, the fighting is great I enjoy the fact that bullet time isn’t manually triggered and has a requirement that isn’t just a timer, I think punching is fairly satisfying but it could get touched up slightly, and dodging in real life as opposed to having a dodge button is also very cool. The hacking is fairly intuitive as well and it’s pretty fun honestly sort of like unlocking a safe, now onto other matters.
The story is presented in a very unique way for a VR game in the visual form of comic style panels that aside from the text are also voiced over, aside from that you’ll get dialogue and exposition as you play through the game in key sequences and even some optional encounter dialogue stuff which surprised me as I wasn’t expecting an optional encounters. As far as I’m aware from some videos and Twitter posts AI was used but as opposed to the sometimes popular belief that it’s a negative I think it actually enhances the experience and allows the devs to put more time into other things.
The areas you go to and the sights you see are also spectacular even for a quest game. There’s also some lore and more to come and it’s honestly impressive what the devs were able to whip up here. This game radiates a lot of passion and dedication if I have to say it. It’s a bit janky at times but it’s more fun and engaging than it is buggy. If this game continues to be worked on which it will and is still being worked on. It has a possibility to be a best seller in my opinion and I’m very excited for future updates and the full release at which point I will be updating my review
Totally Immersive! This game is AWESOME! I just started playing and it is a blast and totally immersive! 360 combat is wild! I have to remind myself that kicking does not track :) I really enjoy the storyline so far and can see that the developers have put a lot of time and thought into the game. Crazy the quality for such a small studio. I'm glad I picked this up in early access and look forward to future updates!
What a game!!! This could easily become one of the best games on Applab. The design is great ....despite being on early access it already shows a polished graphic. The idea of gameplay is great. This game is a mix of Matrix and Max Payne together. Developers are doing a great job here..... So I decided to join the early access and I suggest you to do the same! 5 stars
Fun Story Mode type game. Good futurist vibes. You can tell alot of effort put into the story itself. I know it is still being worked on so looking forward to how it evolves.
The matrix in VR! Won this in a giveaway and I’m loving it so far! The combat is great and it’s really immersive. One of my favorite quest games, it feels really polished and clean
First Game Tester Review. Deceptive Reality is a thrilling and immersive technoir Cyberpunk game for the Quest 2 VR. The game puts you in the shoes of Declan Raimond, an Edge Operator at Cortex, a company at the forefront of cutting-edge technology. The story revolves around the company's highly controversial brain chip (BMI) which has been leaked and you'll need to use your hacking and combat skills to survive the gritty neon-lit alleyways and break into Cortex's high-tech facilities.
The graphics and atmosphere of the game are top-notch and truly transport you into the cyberpunk world. The gameplay is fast-paced and challenging, with a good mix of hacking and combat. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, making it accessible to players of all skill levels. The sound design is also noteworthy and adds to the overall atmosphere of the game.
Overall, Deceptive Reality is a must-play for fans of the cyberpunk genre and for anyone looking for an immersive and thrilling VR experience. The game offers a unique blend of hacking and combat that is sure to keep players on the edge of their seats. Highly recommend it.
Insane. Bro this game I insane. I’ve always wanted to have a story game that uses fists as your weapons. One Thing it would be nice if you could have gadgets like: grappler that grabs enemy’s and pulls the closer or like an emp that stuns the enemy’s.
Not a bad game just one issue. I’ve been having a issue with the controls on your game. Whenever I want to move I have to press down on the joystick pretty hard and most of the time it just doesn’t allow me to move. It isn’t a problem with the controllers because they work perfectly fine on all my other games.
Cyberpunk at its best! Wow, just wow. This game is in early access right now, which means it is only going to get better! Reminds me of the Matirx, as others have said. Amazing job by these developers! Cant wait to see whats next! I 100% recommend this game.
