Very nice one! I was looking for a different game, not focused on shooting, and here it is! Very nice graphics, physics and lots of fun! I highly recommend this one. Please add more environments and planets to visit. Thanks!!
Design is completely backward. Joystick and throttle are on the wrong sides (stick on the left, throttle on the right). This is of course backward to probably every flying vehicle ever produced… making it extremely difficult for any experienced pilot to fly… was nauseating and frustrating at all times because of this.
Very cool space game. While I am still quite at the beginning of the game (played it for maybe 2,5 hours today), I can say that it is a lot of fun! Movement in your space ship is really fun, fighting is simple but decent and the ship upgrade system feels rewarding. Moreover, the characters are cool and/or funny (the voice actors are surprisingly good) and the overall atmosphere of the game is great. 😎
I really hope that this game becomes a kind of "sleeper hit" as I really love space games and it would be a shame, if a nice game like this would vanish without many people noticing it. You can really see and feel how much effort and love by the developers went into this game! Really great job, dear developers, I hope all of you will keep to develop VR games in the future! 🙂
Fun space adventure! Very nice to see a non combat focused space vr game! But don't worry, there are still lazers and action. Visuals, voice acting and soundtrack is on point. Very well made, clearly with a lot of passion. I love the art style, but don't worry if it seems cartoony, the plot and humour is aimed at adults mostly I would say. It's actually very clever and fun. Earn money and upgrade your pod and abilities, different choices and paths offers replay value. There are also side missions and stuff so loooots to do and discover.
Controls and gameplay are mostly on point. I'm not a fan of having the stick to the left and throttle on the right, but very soon the devs will update with the option to switch sides so it's a non issue.
Great Game. Full stop. New favorite game! The default controls are weird, but they added options so that you can change them considerably and now they can be excellent. Love the graphics, the story, the characters, the gameplay.
Only gripe left is very minor. Only bothering to mention it because the devs have been so responsive. Still wanna be able to map the console buttons to the real controller buttons. But even if that never happens, I’ll still love this game!
This is my jam right here. I wanted to get a few hours of playtime in before leaving a review. If you're looking for a space sim, this ain't it. The physics are a bit arcadey, but that's what I like about it. I've played 6DOF cockpit VR games with real Newtonian physics. It's challenging, to say the least. With this, if I turn off my thrusters, I drift to a stop. If you're turned off by that, I can assure you, there's still plenty of precision manoeuvering in the game.(and you might even be able to change that setting for all I know. I haven't really looked) I also love how easy it is to just pop in and do a couple of quick missions. You can even adjust the positioning of the cockpit controls. I'm able to play this comfortably sitting in my favorite recliner. Add in some quirky characters and some classic sci-fi tropes and you've got Space Salvage. Great job devs. This really hits the spot for me.
A great seated Vr game. If you are looking for a super chill seated vr game that gets you right into the action, then I recommend this game.
The game is mission structured with very short load times (even on quest 2) and very easy to learn and pick up.
The controls were surprisingly intuitive and easy to learn, after a couple short tutorials I was already making quick turns and and getting accurate shots with the ships weapon.
This is a very personal preference but I do wish that there was stronger haptics/vibration when gripping the ships control sticks, for me that always adds a level of immersion and make its feel like my hands are actually interacting with objects.
I highly recommend that if you play this game to use a chair with solid or decent sized arm rests at a good height, as it makes it much more comftable to control your ship by sliding your arms back and forth. I have one of them racing gaming desk chairs and it's perfect for this kind of experience.
Started the tutorial and found... The throttle and control stick are on the wrong sides. Most games with these controls have the throttle on the left and control stick on the right. This game has the throttle on the right and control stick on the left. I could not play it like this as it does not compute in my mind. Hope they give an option in a future update. UPDATE *** A big thanks to the developer(s) for updateing the game to support us flight jockeys. I was noe able to complete the tutorial and first mission very easily. It felt natural again. THANKS!!
Fantastic new space sim. It is so nice to get a game where combat in space is not the be all and end all of the game. There IS plenty of space combat, but it's not the main focus of the game, for which I'm really grateful! The combat is exciting, tense ,and fun but the main thrust of the game is deep space salvage in often challenging scenarios which you can take your time to figure your best course of action for maximum reward. The areas you visit often have hidden cargo to salvage for extra bonuses and credits, and all have amazing vistas to enjoy! The scenery is beautiful, and you'll often find yourself just stopping to take in the view! Upgrade your pod to increase your chances of successful completion of your assignment and choose which path your future will take. Take simple, safe, low paid jobs or risk it in a dangerous environment for greater rewards! There are also races through obstacle cluttered space that will really test your skills at pod piloting, and a good time will earn you a place on the leader board! So far, I've not enjoyed any other space flight sim as much as this, and as there are three different "routes" I can take in my career as a Space Salvage technician I'll have plenty of replayability from this game!
Space Sweepers VR! Super chill cockpit tasking game! Really feels like you are on the job out there. Game allows you to work at your own pace and snoop around the environments for extra loot. RPG elements of upgrading your ship's tech, aesthetics and getting promoted feels solid and there seems to be an enormous amount of content here for the price. graphics are cartoony, but the world is fun and immersive. There are no glitches so far and the frame rate is smooth. So thank you devs for taking your time cooking this one before release! The piloting is easy to grasp and having the flight stick on the left only took a few minutes to get used to! As soon as you get your basic laser, you can see why they did it that way. I love my new dayjob, scouring space for valuable scrap and fighting off occasional pesky enemies. Could easily sink many hours into this cathartic game loop. No rushing you through the levels, you are allowed and encouraged to explore at your own pace! Only two things would make this game really shine IMO: 1) I need some kind of thruster sound fx. Movement ids too quiet for me. 2) It kind of takes away from the "laboring" aspect of the game when the salvage is just automatically sucked into the ship when you are close enough to it. We need an option to lock on to it manually and then also another action to trigger the tractor beam. the it would really feel like we are out here working! Maybe even having to cut some pieces with the laser before salvaging them! But as is, this is money VERY well spent and a super chill, meaty, immersive sci fi/cockpit game. Good job devs! UPDATE: thanks devs for responding! I have tried the game with headphones and the engine sounds great with them on. Also I am a few hrs in on the game now and I see even more cockpit interactivity coming into play! Wish more youtubers were talking about this title, it deserves more attention!
Well done. This game loosely ressemble Hardspace: Shipbreaker (non-vr) but is less technical and has additional plot elements. It is very well done and looks very good on Quest 3. The potential is there for additional content. Will update as I continue to play.
