Pretty much 20 times better than the mobile version and maybe one of the best things ive bought on vr
I’d get a Quest just so I could play. This is probably my all time favorite game. The VR version is quite realistic and fun. If I didn’t already have a VR headset I’d get one to keep playing! Is Gunship 4 still being released later this month ??
Highly recommend. Love the game, just wish the yaw input was smoother and the communication and bomb release button worked independently when in bombing mode
It's pretty good. The game is good and all but the lack of aircraft and vehicles in other nations. Besides America kind of makes the game mid. To be honest, I don't mean any hate. But Japan just sucks in general. There's no vehicles in anything besides America. And i'm not really sure how to really feel about the game but it is good
Great VR sim. I've never played this other than on Oculus vr. I don't know if it's true, but it seems like the controls on the Oculus prevent you from turning as tight as the non-vr players which makes you fly smarter. One thing that you should never do is go head on with a ME-109 because it's nose Cannon will shred your aircraft most times. Most American planes can outrun more maneuverable Japanese planes so do your head on attack and if you don't blow them out of the sky then get some distance, turn around and do it again.
Another go to app for me (daily). Great game, but could the developers make it possible for the target indicators to turn off as the player approaches the ground targets please.?They(red.indicators) block my view of the targets till the last moment of my approach. I'm sure that must bug other players. Flak guns are easy to spot anyway without those pesky indicators. Thanks.
Best ww2 flight sim on Quest. This so good. The physics are not arcade like at all the grind for new planes is not very hard at all. Can’t wait to see if you plan to add more aircraft to the game.
Gunship sequel ww2. Great game. Almost like being in a cockpit. It was hard to learn all the controls. But worth it. I've shot down more veterans of the game using Oculus quest. The only thing I can say bad about Oculus quest, is you can't get premium planes. The premium planes have more horse power than the free planes. The premium ki84 can do loop after loop after loop with bombs and a full fuel tank. The free ki84 will only do 1 maybe two loops, with no bombs and 1/4 fuel in the tank. I can't get my tanks to zoom. It says all the updates are complete,. But no zoom. I love this game but want premium planes for Oculus Quest and be able to zoom in on targets when I'm in a tank. I'd give the game a five if I could get the same planes as I have on my tablet.
Another go to app for me (daily). Pros: my favourite play is the ground and navy attacking. The AA (anti aircraft fire) is very accurate so you need to take evasive action once the shooting starts. They are fired at you in volleys. You see the 40mm cannon shells coming up at you from different directions before they explode into dark puffs. I play it in VR which makes it very immerssive. I like the British planes and the American p51 d. Also the late bf109 with 30mm cannon is fun. Those shells really tear up the enemy. Try the bombers too. They are great. CON; The aircraft wobble. It's a real pain in the neck. This is one fault that the developers should fix. The other minor gripe I have is that their ME 262 seriously lacks speed. The real me 263 had a maximum level flight speed of 520 to 540 knots. Apart from that, it's a must have seated war game. It would be better still if bot enemy pilots were introduced for all theatres. Thanks for the great game.
Lots of potential. This game can be one of the very BEST, but I suggest taking flight controls from the Warplanes series. I can never get the stick forward in first person mode no matter how I adjust myself of my game. Bomber controls for gunners are also off. I’d suggest making the guns having a “grab” point to aim and fire them. I REALLY want this game to be great!
It’s pretty good, but needs adjustment. Alright let’s get this clear: I’ve been playing this game on mobile since around 2018-2019. In that time, I unlocked every BF-109, half of the American tree, and random planes I thought were fun. And I am glad to see that they removed gold from the VR exclusive version. Yes, you have to pay for the game, but on mobile you could spend close to $100 to unlock all the planes, so this is immediately better. On the mobile version, the average low ranking plane is about 5000-10000 XP, while on here it’s either free or less than 3500 XP.
Now let’s get into my first I’m-Not-Sure-What-To-Think-Of-This moment: the grind. It almost feels too easy. Evidence in that I completely finished the Russian and British Air Trees with maxed out upgrades within 4 hours. I was pulling maybe 5000-7000 XP per game, at times more than 15000.
My biggest complaint is the lack of planes in some trees. In the German tree, add the HE-177, HE-162, TA-152. In the Japanese tree, Add the B7A, G5N, KI-45. In the British tree, the Typhoon/Tempest, Spitfire Mk.XI, Lancaster Mk.III. In the Soviet Tree, the Lagg-3, MiG-3, PE-8. Also, Add Italy.
a smaller complaint is that I should not be in a I-16 and face against a jet powered ME-262.
other than those few complaints, it’s fun, and I’m positively addicted to it.
Best flying game on quest. I've played the gunship series of games for a while, and never expected to see it in VR. I'm glad this game exists, and especially on the quest. It has great physics and flying takes much more attention. The game isn't just a turn and shoot flying game, you actually have to apply BFM(basic fighter maneuvers) and tactics in order to take down bandits and I love that. For anyone who wants to get into realistic dogfighting on the quest, this is the game for you, especially if you love WW2 aviation. Although, keep in mind that at the moment no buttons, switches, etc are interactive, you can only move the yoke, and the yoke is controlled by tilting your controller, rather than actually moving the controller around, which may decrease immersion. Here is a list of this game's strengths and weaknesses as of October 16th 2022:
Strengths: Great physics, rewarding to those who know BFM/CFM, lots of aircraft.
Weaknesses: No interactive buttons, yoke control system can be confusing at first and reduces immersion.
Both Strength & Weakness: You have to grind out a good amount of the aircraft in this game, meaning you can't immediately hop in a P-51D mustang or an Me-262, this can be frustrating to some, but also fun for others, just depends on what you like.
