Good but abandoned it seems. This seems to be one of those games that started out great, but the developer tired of it and moved on. I like it, but the lack of options is disappointing. You have no choices in the game, meaning if you just want to zone out with a paddle and break bricks, you can't. You have to deal with other things like a gun and magnet. All the levels are timed and you can't turn that off either and just slam away like you can in RacketNx. Other reviewers mentioned that it needs updates and it does, but I doubt that will happen so if you buy the game you have to take it as it comes.
Pong-tastic. A smashing experience. Playable seated if you prefer to play that way rather than standing. Looks very crisp and clean in the headset. Lots of levels to test your pong reflexes. Well worth the asking price and one of my go-to apps since downloading it.
Pleasantly surprised. Game looks and feels nice. Very gratifying to hit the ball and watch it break boxes. well worth the cost. Give it a try. A refund is always an option.
Can play sitting or standing. You don’t have to go chasing the ball because it always ends up coming within arms reach on its return.
Nice 80s retro look
One of the games id use to show off VR to someone new.
The music is meh; sounds like medieval folk music.
Ball physics need some work; you can get the ball going in the right direction but it’s hard to put it exactly where you want. there is too much up/down randomness.
The paddle game I've been wanting on VR. This is the paddle game I've been looking for. Basically VR arkanoid meets racketball with some twists. Really fun and challenging at the same time. And I love games with this neon graphics style. Only a few things I wish will be improved and I would consider a 5 star rating:
* The physics are ok, but I feel like the they can be much better. The ball doesn't feel like it has any weight. It bounces way too much as it's coming towards you and doesn't feel quite right when you hit it. I wish it would feel a little more like racketball or tennis where you can slam a forehand with some spin. I bought Racket NX when I first bought my VR headset and I never cared for it because it's the type of game where you just slam the ball and watch stuff happen. Pong can sometimes feel that way, but some more realistic physics could make it feel more like you're using skill.
* Love the graphics style but could use some polish. Specifically, the gradients around the glow of the ball and the box edges just look really low fidelity. It's especially noticeable on the gray boxes that you have to break. I don't know if this is just a limitation of the Quest 2 or if it can be improved, but I wish it looked better. Audio Trip looks good which makes me think it's possible.
* IMO the power ups come too easily. I actually just end up ignoring them a lot of times because they get distracting, but if you ignore one, another comes right after it. I remember in Arkanoid some of the power ups didn't come so often so you made sure to get them. Less frequent but higher payout. It would also be cool if they were different colors so you know what you're getting.
* Lastly, just an idea but custom music! Or some kind of visual response to the music in the game?
Thank you to the devs for this game. Great game already, just some input on what I'd love to see improved.
Great classic with a twist. I absolutely love this game. It’s not too expensive, and offers a lot. The physics are great, and the game can get pretty hectic. Great for anyone looking for a brick breaking pong game. I definitely suggest it.
Fun Game With Great Potential. There are only a few levels right now, but they have decent replayability. Lots of fun, mechanics work well, and it’s actually decent exercise as well! I look forward to seeing further updates and added levels. Definitely worth picking up for the price. Especially if you ever enjoyed classic brick breaker games.
Arkanoid VR. I grew up loving Arkanoid as a kid so I’m biased towards this game. It’s fun. The physics are decent and progression is good with new items as you go. With a bit more polish I can imagine a regular store release. Good luck to the devs!
Great paddle game with huge potential. The game is fast and engaging, it would serve as a great work-out especially at last levels where the bombs appear. The telekinesis powerup feels pretty good in VR. I hope for more levels and powerups to come from the dev.
