Teaches you drums. This slaps in every way I play as much as I can just off the simple fact it’s created such a muscle memory for me that playing in a band it’s helped tremendously I tell literally everyone about this game Just keep adding metal and I’m game!!!
Good music. I bought this game today to give it a try. I’ve played several drumming games in the past and currently playing a drumming game that I can play on extreme with no problems. I won’t mention the game on here. But anyway this game has good music. I had issues trying to setup the drums because after trying the tutorial I had to adjust the drums several times because at the default setting the drums sit very high. After saving my settings I still couldn’t get the drums setup correctly. I couldn’t find any beginner setup just so I can beat one song. This game has potential and is almost there. It’s still needs a lot of work that’s all I can say this game is not very user-friendly. There’s other issues I noticed about the game but after trying the tutorial and trying to play one song and couldn’t get to the end because of the drums not being set up correctly, I just exited out of the game and decided I’ll give this game a couple of more months and check back once I know they fixed some issues or did updates to correct some of the issues but if they can make these changes to the game to make it easier and better, this game will be awesome. To the devs. When I see some to better the game, I’ll change my review to a better review.

Good drum arcade game. Simple and joyful arcade drums game.
So very very close. Please keep going! This game has incredible potential. It really does every time you update it. I open it straight away. Of course the biggest problem for me. I have yet to see get fixed but maybe it's just a me thing to the lovely developers working so hard. My name is Kenneth and if I can make one suggestion. I don't like that on the quest 2 (maybe not on PC. I'm unsure} the game gives you no sound on the drums. No feedback on the drums whatsoever unless you hit each drum at the exact time during a song. There's no judgment or prayer for judgments on a late hit or an early one. Therefore, when you're getting into it and trying to while out on the drums, there's no sense of varying impact when you're trying to smash the drum. With zero feedback during those times, it does seem as well an aiding factor to how complicated it feels and hard. Overall, it seems to be to truly set the drums position right where you need it. The only time I've played and made it through a song since I've had the game well with any success on that song. Took me a whole battery usage in my headset to set the drums up. Keep in mind I have been blinding my left eye from birth but do have developed debt perception to a significant enough degree that being a proud owner of every drum and game that has come out for the metaquest 2. I'll brush my shoulder off and say that for the ones well made I'd beat that crud up! Lol. Devs I really love this game. And I'm not sure if my feedback will really do you need justice or not? But if there's anything you can do about that for me, I'm totally down to sing your praises on all the socials, the medias, the book, face, the tweeters, and so on
The best drumming game. The best drumming game on the market. Played it from when it was on Sidequest a few years ago. It says 41 songs but I can’t find them all, not sure why?
Beatsaber with Drums! GrooVR might just be what the Virtual Reality needs in the music space. This game is very similar to Beat Saber and has all the fixings of Guitar Hero. I had a great time with this game and so glad I got to play it! I might just actually learn how to play the drums!

それはダメだ。まあまあだけど、もっといい選択肢がたくさんある。ただ、全体的につまらない。

not it. it’s ok but there are so many better options. just meh over all.
AWESOME!!! This game has motivated me to learn real drums. Even with a $500 new e-drum kit I still play GrooVR more than it. The soundtrack is awesome. I've downloaded most of the songs and listen to them over and over while at work. I even come home on my lunch break just so that I can get a little jam session in. There are minor things that could be tweaked here and there but it doesn't ruin the experience. With every update you can see improvement. I've already dang near mastered all of the songs. Can't wait for more songs to come out. Sometime soon I hope!!! You devs just keep doing what you been doing and this will be the number one drumming game in everybody's arsenal as it is in mine!!!
needs more work. potential but.... a, must be allowed to drop the whole set down. Seat heights differ. b, contact with the drums is awful. I know I am in time but they do not register the hit c, the hit point is not when the it reaches the centre of the drums. It seems to be as it gets there. Hence timing out. d, too much too soon. Songs are almost impossible for even an experienced drummer. e, The height the the hits cone to you are wrong. You should be able to look down on them. They are eye height. f, Tutorial is so wrong. Far to complicated. If you are trying to get a new person onto drums this will put them off straight away. g, You need to enable a person to yse the kit freestyle so that they can get used to the set up. h, Start with sraight 4 4 easy songs and progress. This is like going into expert mode instantly. As an experienced drummer I gave up after 15 mins. Hopefully it will improve so I will be coming back to it in the future but sadly for now uninstall. I don't see how you can charge for this in the present phase of development.
My #1 reason for using my oculus. Obsessed. This is the absolute best game and drum simulator ever. Actually recorded myself playing and learned hard, technical drum songs on a real electronic set through playing this game! Always looking for more updates and songs. Thank you so much!!!
Menus not working. I am unable to get the in game menus to respond. To add insult to injury the game is not eligible for a refund for some reason. Wasted my money. I did not know it was legal to sell faulty goods and then deny a refund.
Potential. This game has so much potential, but the core mechanics of the interaction with the drum are not quite right yet. Sometimes it doesn’t detect when you hit the drum. I used Paradiddle before trying this one, and the mechanics in Paradiddle are just right. I think if they improve this it can be a great game, because the music selection is really nice.
Good but core things need to be updated. So far this game is drum-simulator feeling which is good in the market.
But below core things could be better:
- Drum sounds. If I am not wrong, currently the game read an individual drum sound track. If combo goes, play it, otherwise stop play it. This makes the drum feeling bad. Sounds cutoff so weird, no feedback for my own rhythm, even I hit with incorrect hits, the drum sound still perfect, what I have done? I don't know. Also the strength of hitting has not feedback.
- Drum feedback. Including sounds feedback and haptics feedback. Different hitting strength should have different hitting sounds as well as different strength haptics.
- Notes sometime way hard to read. Especially for fast songs, some notes squeezed together and hard to recognize the hitting pattern. If that is possible, have some group pattern concept will be better, such as adding BPM indicator lines so we could know the notes in this part or that part. Like AAAB ABBA could insert a separator in between the two part to make the notes easier to read.
- Notes will be hit if just the notes had been “touched” but not “drummed”.
- Stick angle is weird, I think the stick should not be “hold” so tight.
- Custom songs support could be one important thing.
Hope the game could be better for formal full version.
Great fun. I think out of all drumming vr games (smash drums, paradiddle ,virtuoso) Groovr is the best and most fun out there. Thoroughly enjoy the songs and hoping custom songs will come at some point similar to the success beatsaber had with BMBF
Love it. Great game, should be on the real App Store! Hope there will be more popular songs (would pay extra for it). Also a more realistic room, maybe with other band members and a audience. I never was that into drums, but this game is a game changer.
Novice drummer. I won't lie, I've never drummed in my life, but I am one of those who has always air drummed to Phil Collins! Now the tutorial was useful as it showed how bad my hand eye coordination is! Once I figured out how to scroll up the music list I listened to a few samples and what would be great to see in future developments is grouped levels of difficulty: Novice to Expert and even have funny names for the levels like Garage, School, Festival, Arena, Stadium for example. A lot like Beat Saber, I think there is a lot of exercise potential in this too. Good job, so far.
Lots of fun, hoping for more updates. Over all a lot of fun and I still play this regularly, here are my thoughts summarized:
- Great take on the guitar hero style gameplay for drums, it makes you feel like you're really drumming even though your actual timing is probably not that great :p. It's clear that it's supposed to be arcade fun and not simulation. - Some of the faster drum fill sections are near impossible to get consistently good as it feels like you're just panic waving your arms in an attempt to hit everything. There's no learning mode so you have to play everything at full speed from the start every time. - The game can be a workout of you go all in. - I think the game would greatly benefit from user song creation functionality. The songs that are included are great but the library is still pretty limited. - Maybe a learning mode where you can practice drum grooves would be great, it's much easier to learn in GrooVR than in paradiddle for example because of the visual aid.
Over all a lot of fun and I still play this regularly
