A Hidden Gem. I'm a sucker for a game with a good musical direction and Eolia hits those notes, with great voice acting and story to go along with it. Amazing atmosphere! There isn't a better narrative experience using hand tracking than Eolia, allowing you to physically interact with instruments and elevate your experience. Definitely a hidden gem, and I recommend if enjoy a captivating story, great music and atmosphere and controller free gameplay~
Its a bit of a learning curve as it can take some getting used to with hand tracking locomotion, but definitely a more immersive way to play~
This is amazing. I never believed that a fully hand tracked game could be feasible but my god Eolia has really surpassed my expectations completely. The mechanics are well thought out and the tracking is reliable enough to not have any frustrations while playing. 100% reccomend
Great story and concept but,. I really like the concept and hand tracking works mainly great. Just at some points it felt a little bit bumpy eg the jump and run didn’t go as planned and also the riding in the first chase seen seemed a little Weired (the animal kept turning left and right even though I didn’t move my hands or head).
I like the quests and its challenging. Sometimes it took me a awhile to figure out where to go or what to do next maybe some hints in the journals which trigger after a while or a button what do I need to do next would be good.
Overall great work though and I will definitely play this more!!
Unique Game Elements. I have only just begun playing this game but it is such a beautiful adventure! The game has some amazing visuals at times, especially when choreographed to the music. My favorite part of this game so far is the musical aspect! Playing songs on a flute is unique from anything else I've played. You follow a story, meeting characters as you proceed collecting items, playing songs, solving puzzles and even riding a beast called a Lhargo along the way!
I do understand the complaints about handtracking because I initially struggled too. I thought I was doing it correctly but came to find out that I wasn't. Once you get the hang of it, it actually works fairly well! You can always use the controllers instead but I found it to be much more enjoyable without them.
You keep possession of a journal that holds valuable reference information, which is super useful. Not only does it keep track of your quests but also controls you may have forgotten and the songs you learn along your journey.
Puzzles, music, adventure- what's not to like? I really enjoy this game and look forward to playing more.
Beautiful. I was really excited to give Eolia a try specifically with hand tracking, but ultimately couldn’t get them to work right and my controllers always seemed to take precedence. Ultimately this didn’t take away from my enjoyment. I’m a couple hours into the experience so far and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The opening of the game does a great job of walking you through the gameplay mechanics (movement, using keys, opening chests, placing items into your pouch, etc) before dropping you right into an awesome rhino ridding section.
I absolutely love the way you grab your pouch and can store things into it; it’s just so intuitive and addicting once you get a hang of it! I find myself looking all over for things that I can throw into the pouch haha. Not sure if that’s a testament to how fun it is to do so, or maybe I’m just a digital hoarder haha.
Overall just a beautiful story, interesting environments, really good voice acting, and fun puzzles and game mechanics. I wholeheartedly recommend Eolia.
It’s seriously awesome experience! A few days ago I saw the announcement of a major update to this game on the Meta channel and decided to give it a try. And what a great idea it was! Lol I've been playing it for the last two days and it’s one of the best story based experiences I've tried.👍 Absolutely great gameplay with unique elements, beautiful environments and impressive scenes scale!🔥
Stunning 🤩 Game. This is a Single player fantasy adventure with plenty of graphical eye candy!!
Wow! There has been hours of added gameplay!! this is such a unique story action puzzler that incorporates music, and can be played entirely with hand tracking/ or with controllers if preferred.
I will add though, it took me a little bit to get used to the hand tracking but personally had no issues using it once I got used to the physics. And you really need to be in a well lite area to use hand tracking to avoid any issues.
The hand tracking really aims to solve some of today's issues with player movement in hand tracked games.
So much fun collecting consumables & collectables! Play melodies to unlock musical superpowers! I’ve only scratched the surface of this game, but I know it was a great purchase and look forwards to diving deeper into the game!
This game is gorgeous with wonderful music parts! 😍
This really never got the attention it deserved when it released! Now I own it I Highly recommend, and it’s a MUST for your VR library.
Wonderful fantasy game. A wonderful fantasy world that feels alive and well thought through. Voice acting is especially notable, the main characters are quite well done and believable, and the random NPCs are all pretty solid. The world design is imaginative, with a lot of variety in the areas. Fun exploration, platforming, and puzzles, especially in the VR market where it's still in its early days.
I don't have much in terms of critiques, however I will say that a lot of the world collision felt a bit too large. It often seemed to extend past the walls relatively often, mostly inconsequential but occasionally it seemed to do it in a way that made it hard to pick up an item.
I experienced very few bugs, and the ones I did were inconsequential, mostly just an animation glitch here or there. Most notable is the subtitles will show the previous text for a few frames before it switches to the current one. Made me think I was missing dialogue for a bit, but you aren't.
Hand tracking had some issues, but I chalk that up more to the Quest 2's early tech for it, rather than the game (worsened by me having beige walls and a beige carpet). Got better with time after getting more used to it, you just need to make the gesture quite clear, make sure the circle formed by pinching your index and thumb is facing the headset.
Finally what I've been looking for. I was really surprised with this game. I was very curious to see how they used the hand tracking to move you around the enviroment. I am very impressed with everything you get to do. Riding the mount was fun and interesting. Moving around the enviroment and turning took some getting used to at first. The key is to keep your hands in the view of the headset, once I figured that out it was much easier. After a bit I was moving around and jumping to things with no problem. Even though my arms got tired for holding my hands up, taking a break helps and let's you get back to it, until you get accustomed to it.
The inventory system requires pulling your bag out so you can put stuff in it, at first this was cumbersome, but I kept at it and now it's no problem to open it up put something in and put it away. I like how it felt, more immersive cause I was using my hands and not a controller.
I like how you grab items, made me feel like I had magic powers, very fun.
I really enjoyed the puzzles, I can't wait to do more of them.
The art style is interesting, the world is intriguing. The enviroments are very pretty and I enjoy how they aslo have a music aspect to the game. The flute is very interesting and I like unlocking new songs as I progressed. I look forward to really diving into the game, it is very worth the time and effort.
I think this game is great and I commend the dev team for all their efforts, keep it up.
Fun and unique game (but be aware). I'll start with what you need to be aware of: the hand controls can get infuriating . But the hand stuff it's more of lighting and technology limitations so just breathe and relax and the problems that i had was very low and the dev were quick to respond and help now for the other stuff it's gorgeous game with a fantastic music and interesting and unique gameplay and I would say I enjoyed it very much and I think it's worth it so 5/5 would recommend to buy! And i can't wait to see more of them!
Fantastically Frustrating. What a wonderful game this is, an engaging and innovative storyline, tremendous use of hand-tracking mechanics, very clever puzzles and graphically a joy to behold... But, it does need a little bit more care and attention, it can at times become quite janky and a lot of the necessary items needed are ridiculously hard to locate (at times it comes down to luck), for a linear story-driven game, sometimes it gets too clever for it's own good, hence only 4 stars, but it really is a good game that could so easily be a great game... Additional notes, had to admit defeat in the Church section, spent over 4 hours in game and countless hours watching my recorded footage, plus scouring the internet for help, collected all the necessary pieces, but just couldn't get anything to work, it may be useful to have the location of the vines highlighted or glowing or some other option (maybe a counter in the book that shows how many are done and how many are yet to be found)... Such a shame, I'll keep my eye on it to see if there are any further updates, but for now game has been uninstalled and score reduced to 3 stars.
Fun game. Updated review...THIS GAME IS SO MUCH FUN!!! I stopped trying to use hand tracking cause of many reasons but mainly because arms getting tired and grabbing puzzle pieces while not trying to when turning the knobs. It also makes jumping way easier but it doesn't even need hand tracking to be an amazing game! I wish there were a little more instructions like saying it is only part of the flute when you get it. I tried to play that thing multiple times before I watched a video saying you don't get it until half way through the game. It made the game even more amazing when I got it though! I feel like link playing the ocarina! I also wish there were some element of fighting but aside from that I am in love and wish I had given it another chance earlier
