there's something strange, all the reviews have disappeared. it tells me about an update but I see that the version is still the old one and there are no development notes. I don't trust myself to update....
One of the best VR showcases. This demo shows the potential of VR for art and education. By the time of this review, there are only 5 paintings available to "plunge" in, but I'm hoping they will expand the gallery by the time if goes to the regular store.

Library of Realities review:. Art Plunge is a short but fun distraction that takes five extremely well known paintings and transforms them into something different by adding a third dimension and extrapolating beyond the frame. Some might call it as corruption of great art, but others could see it as taking a new perspective on several over exposed pieces of art.
You arrive at this experience in a dark lobby, on one side a wall with five paintings and on the other blue marble earth on a starfield. Each of the five paintings presented in their original aspect with a brief accompanying text, and an invitation to "enter into our VR interpretation". Plunging into the paining, the frame dissolves and the image takes on a new fully realized depth (no flat 3D layers here) and the periphery surrounds you with new detail complimentary to the original. Ambient audio nicely adds to the level of immersion.
The five paintings are Vermeer's Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window, Botticelli's The Birth of Venus, DaVinci's Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's Starry Night and Michalengelo's The Creation Of Adam. These VR interpretations certainly distort the original intent of the artists, but only the stuffiest of art historians are likely to not get something out of this fun experience.
If there was anything we could recommend to improve this experience, it would be for an opportunity to view the original painting in some detail. Also the artworks' descriptions are very brief - there would be value in a lengthier description about the history and interpretation of each painting, and perhaps also further text explaining the VR re-interpretation.

Magnificent, Truly remarkable. It's obvious they put a lot of work into this. amazing quality, extremely well made, impeccable detail. Well worth the price of admission. Please make more, I'll buy them all. Even Goya's Black Paintings.

So cool! What a neat idea. Really enjoyed this! Stepping inside the paintings - seeing the people blinking, the wind blowing, etc. I would love more paintings added to the gallery. :) Well worth the couple bucks.
Experience art in a whole new way. The idea/concept is simply ingenious. How would the scene shown in the painting look to us if we were in the middle of it? Great realisation.... Of course, the perspective is still frontal, even if it is three-dimensional, so it is logical that the freedom of movement is restricted..... by the way, I also find the "holodeck" effect very successful when we move out of the area.
Great experience that will hopefully be extended, but definitely worth the price!
A few comments / change requests: - "starry night" - a little more atmospheric noises (in the other paintings this is more coherent/immersive). - make the "wormhole" less scary.... perhaps as a white vortex. It looks really spooky when you turn around for the first time. Help! - expansion through payable DLC in "package format" with 2-3 paintings in which 1-2 are very well known, but in which less well known but still no less interesting paintings are also included to increase the interest in paintings overall - please add works by Dali, Gaudi, Hunderwasser and Royo...

Ps: my mom claims about the "girl at the window" reflex, that doesn't move accordingly with the subject 🙂 But apart from this, she is enthusiastic as well about this app.
Worth it. Ok so like there is only five paintings or something to go in and once you have done them that is it the entire thing is over in like 10 minutes, usually I would request a refund but the graphics are so nice the game itself is a work of art and so I will not request a refund, and will return to the game if new paintings are added, worth it for the money, very nice
