From the creators of the Metro series comes a new vision of the apocalypse. ARKTIKA.1 is a highly immersive, action-packed, first-person shooter designed exclusively for Oculus Touch. Nearly a century in the future, the world has fallen into a new ice age in the aftermath of a silent apocalypse. Only the equatorial regions remain habitable, yet pockets of humanity survive in small numbers all over the planet, hanging onto existence in the resource-rich territories to the north and south--resources that everyone wants to control... Protect the colony in the wastelands of old Russia from raiders, marauders, and horrifying creatures. Be the savior.
Give humanity a second chance.
Using the newest version of the 4A Engine, ARKTIKA.1 delivers the most impressive visuals ever seen in VR, along with the immersion and world building that 4A Games is known for, in a full AAA package. Experience a post-apocalyptic vision of the future like never before; in full VR.

Runs on 3070TI and Quest 3 Great. I'm running it through Oculus Air Link and Quest 3 on a 3070ti and 12th Gen Intel i5. Everything is working and looks and plays great. It's still very scary and has features I wish other VR games would have, like the controllers increasing their vibration once you put them in range of your out of sight shoulder guns as this made it really easy to always grab them without looking. Tons of VR need to take that idea so that grabbing weapons without looking is common across all vr games. Anyway, it was a great game back in the Rift days and it's great now. Scale is still funny, not sure if it's on purpose because often it's perfectly scaled.
Gameplay in other headsets. I return the game bcs it was imposible to play trough Virtual desktop in other headset pico 4 and quest 2 after to many research and after ask 2 good man's get the game back and installing revive port from ghitub and works perfectly trough VD ALVR or streaming assistant
A very bitter disappointment. The graphics look really nice, but the game's intro goes on & on forever. Finally ur truck pulls into a garage where the driver hops out no problem, however my character in-game WILL NOT exit the vehicle no matter what I do. The game shows which buttons to press to exit the truck, but when I press them, nothing happens. I treid every other button & every combination of buttons that I could think of but nothing would let me leave the truck. So that's my experience with this game. Didn't even get to make it to the tutorial part of the game (assuming there is one).
So obviously I can't give any more than one star on such a defective game. Part of me wants to hope this will get fixed in an update, but the other part of me feels like I better go ahead and get my refund while I still can.
It was good before. It was good game, i played it few years back and it worked great. Now it get stuck on profile selection (save game) can't select save game, can't use controller at all. It worked fine until message to squeze any button then after that, it doesn't react to anything i press. Sadly, i have to uninstall.
As good as a wave shooter can get. The enviroments are incredibly detailed and immersive. You shoot and teleport to cover points to progress through the game. Locomotion would make the game better, but it's still good as is. Creepy atmosphere, fantastic performance compared to other VR titles, and quite literally the loudest and best gun sound effects I've ever heard in a game.
stuck loading. Played this a few years ago when it came out on my rift and it worked fine and was ok to play but now it wont start up. Havent used my rift for a couple of years, asgards wrath played ok, google earth and the occulus demos were fine but this and a couple of other games seem to have developed issues. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled, uninstalled occulus and reinstalled then re-reinstalled the game and still same issue. I dont know if something has changed with any version updates to possibly help it with the quest series headsets, but if you have a rift like me it might not work anymore.
This was great! That's my number two after Alyx. The shooting is so much fun. It's fun to shoot the soldiers, the graphics are great. Easily in the top 3 VR shooters. Some issues with the trigger though, sometimes the click doesn't trigger when you shoot fast, I couldn't figure out why.
Good, But Not As You Think It Is. I finished this game 4 years ago and came back to give input on my thoughts then and now. In 2017 I was itching for a Metro/Stalker experience in VR. Seeing this was being made by the creators of Metro with the "world building and immersion 4A is known for" I had high hopes. It ended up being a Time Crisis game in a creepy-ish setting. Not anything close to what I hoped. Nevertheless, it was a good game and I enjoyed it start to finish.
Now in 2021, I still had an itch to play VR Metro. A couple days ago I played a game called "Into The Radius" which is literally VR Stalker. That game is what I'd hoped this would be(and marketing kinda lead on Metro fans with Arktika 1).
If you're looking for VR Metro, this game isn't even close. Play Radius. If you are a Time Crisis fan and want to support 4A, you'll enjoy this.
I do hope 4A and Dimitri decide to create a proper VR Metro installment that plays like Into The Radius. Something with a top notch story and atmosphere we're used to. I want to experience Metro with my bare hands, outside of Airsoft apocalypse RP events.
Arktika 1. is more of an experiment. Forgettable story, teleporting instead of locomotion, enemies who still sound like Suzaku. I've easily spent most the time in the range playing about with what were a lot of very fun gun types.
It's a fun gimmicky game that'll kill a few hours. Not much replayability.
Missed oportunity. This game have big potencial, but there is som technical problem with gun triggers on quest 2(I have quest 2 and most of people complaining about this issue also but Im not sure if it is just quest 2 problem) It just dont fire properly, it fires sometimes, sometimes late, sometimes it just dont fire at all. This game is about shooting, thats basicaly only thing you do. So bug like this practycaly ruins whole game, I honestly dont get why somebody dont patch it asap. It is some small errorr somwhere which ruins game done by many people for thousands of hours. But…
Or you can look on this like it is part of the story of this game as I do. You are a soldier in postapocaliptic city build on remains of easten europe civilization( Im from Czech btw)….so off course all weapons they give you for work are s**ty, and nothing work properly. Your weapons are jaming all the time, every second bullet is filled with clay instead of gunpowder and some guns just shoot only in thursday….why not. It dont make playing it fun. But it is ****ing realistic !
25% off. From the studio behind the Metro games so visually this is very impressive. Fun for a while and although you can teleport to different positions it is basically a wave shooter.
Still worth checking out.
Why not give it a try with my 25% off friend referral.
Quest 2 from Rift. I purchase your app for my Rift, works great. I replaced my Rift with a new Quest 2. it is mental to think someone is going to repurchase your app for a newer hardware, but same system (Facebook). I refuse to purchase it again due to newer version of the quest 2 I have. I would like my purchase moved to my lol same Facebook account under my quest 2. BTW I had to replace my rift due to Oculus not supporting the purchase of new Headset cables.
works great on quest 2. was a bit worried that this was going to be a waste of nearly 50 dollars buying this as i saw some reviews saying that this doesnt work on quest but im two missions in playing via occulus link cable right now and it feels great. game is really well optimised too
No Motion Sickness. It's so great to find an action packed game that doesn't cause a bunch of motion sickness. The teleport to fixed locations thing is definitely a dated style, but it's a great option for vr newbies with sensitive stomachs. The graphics in this game are great and the feel of the guns is fantastic. The story is fine, nothing amazing, but not terrible. A great vr fps for vr newbies.
So glad I purchased this game. Con: the opening scene have you riding in some sort of Jeep. It feels weird because you you're actually standing. I wish the price was lower I would have purchased it sooner.
Pro: the gameplay the graphics the movement system, the graphics , fun and scary fun, the attention to detail, and finally the graphics.
Excellent game. FYI, I play it using the rift. I don't like to use the quest headset to play Rift games. But that is another story.
