Amazing Mechanics + More. Wow! What can I even say? I was blown away by the immersion and gameplay. This game has great fighting mechanics, surprising immersive atmosphere, and great story.
You're thrown into a dungeon with no clue what to do, and faced with challenging monsters on each floor. Per the rogue-lite style, you learn with each death and gain more knowledge about the game and each mechanic. You can collect items to enchance your abilities and use potions to aid your battles. There's so much destruction in this game for those who are fans of mass exploration, and the fighting leaves you bewildered! You'll never know how you ended up having so much fun swinging your arms at a pixel-monster.
You're sure to have fun in this game, and with multiplayer right around the corner, you can rest assured that you and your friends will have tons of fun dungeon-crawling.
GAMEPLAY: 10/10 - Great mechanics with responsive physics, great story, and very immersive.
COMBAT: 10/10 - As mentioned with physics, very responsive. Thrilling and chilling always.
COMFORT: 8/10 - I had no issues playing in this environment, but it is very clear that those who suffer VR motion sickness will struggle a bit with this game. Make sure to turn VR Comfort settings on if you have issues with VR.
OVERALL: 10/10 - I highly recommend this game, and I believe you will not regret purchasing this product.
Awesome! I usually play shooters in VR and didn't expect too much from this game but it's incredibly fun =) never thought chopping down local flora would be so satisfying :-D didn't play too much, yet but I will surely come back to play some more!
Top 5 Vurtual Reality Titles to Date! I can now add Ancient Dungeon VR to my list of all-time favorite Vurtual Reality masterpieces, along side 1.) Half-Life: Alyx 2.) Chronos 3.) Red Matter 2 4.) After the Fall 5.) War Dust - which means one of these aforementioned titles has to get bumped off my personal favorite list to make room for this awesome title.
This game is super fun. The physics are perfect. The enemies are challenging and the proceedurally generated maps that change each time you play are actually really cool. I personally love the (what I call N64 style graphics) blocky, what some call Minecraft art style. Everything is actually really crisp in game and almost everything is interactive. There are a ton of spells and magic you can collect, that can help you, as you attempt to make your way through this Dungeon crawler. But be warned, this game is not for the faint of heart. I actually threw out my shoulder the first night playing it bc I was slanging my boomerang so quickly while slashing enemies and blocking incoming projectiles with my sword. Currently, I have made it to the 3rd level and it gets pretty challeging. But I love the interactivity, the menu system, map & health placement, you name it - they knocked this one out of the park. Price is certainly reasonable and in my opinion, this is one of those games every VR user should own. Must Have! No gripes, nor complaints what-so-ever.
(Also: I forgot to mention. In the game title description the dev's mention over 20+ hours of gameplay, but I'm not sure how they came up with that number because I can see this being one of those games you can dump many many hours into. Definitely more than 20 hours!)
Fantastic Fun! With Minecraft-ish blocky graphics that bring the whole 90s nostalgia feel to the game, Ancient Dungeon ranks up there in my favorite top 3 VR games. It's quick to jump into, challenging, and butter smooth (on Quest 1 and PCVR). At present, it's a single player game only. However, multiplayer is being worked on! Fun hack-and-slash that anybody at any skill level can have fun with. Highly recommended!
