Keep Defending is a first-person VR tower defense archery game where you build up your defenses during the enemy onslaught.
Target enemies before they reach your gate and earn gold to set up ever more capable defenses including crossbows, fireball-shooting wizards, brave knights, and more.
Funny game. Not perfect (that's why I give it 4 stars) but really funny little game. It's like a mix between Elven Assassin and killing minecrafters instead of monsters. Several scenaries and stress increasing. Don't expect marvellous graphics (I must say I like this cartoony squared-head style) nor perfect mecanics but, for the price, I think it is a very good option if you like defend tower games and bows. Surprisingly enjoyable
Very entertaining. It's really fun when you figure out how to play effectively. Sure, it's hard to hit the target every time when you shoot an arrow, but that's part of the challenge. You learn very quickly how to adjust your aim. The controls are good and feel very natural. The only downside is my arm gets tired holding the bow. I can't fault the game for that, it's on me. It's a fun game and I recommend it.
Nice game, stressful as it should be, simple in design, which I like.
Just getting really frustrated over grabbing the arrow, which seems to work everywhere, except near the bow. If you make a mistake, you have to realize, move your hand away from the bow and back, this takes too long. Further, it feels weird to release the arrow and immediately hold the trigger down again, like reversed gun shooting.
Game is fun, when it works. Only had the game for 5 days, worked for 2 of those days. Ever since, I go into the game and all the scores are zero. When I try to enter a level it spawns me in a random spot on the map. Nothing else loads. Just sits there, Too bad because its a very addicting game.
I wrote this two days ago, no response and still cant access the game. I looked for a direct contact for help, but I was not able to locate anyone. Why isnt it easier to reach out to the developers? :(
Edit: Thank you for your response! I was not able to get back here to follow up until now. I ended up uninstalling the game. Then re-installed it. Its been working ever since. I do really enjoy this game. Great job!
Oculus Rift Please Help. Sorry , My bad. All good... just need to follow the directions LOL
Game starts , however I Cannot use my Oculus Rift controllers. I see a pair of hands but nothing is recoginzed when I try to point or squeeze triggers. The only thing that works is teleport. I recalibrated my controllers / room steup but no luck.
Not as good as it could be. I wish they would get rid of that very annoying black circle that appears when you move out of the set position. I wanted to get immersed in the final landscape scene, but whenever I moved, I had an ever growing black circle obscuring the view in front of me.
Would also be nice if there was some color - all the images are grey. - which for the red planet is a bit off-putting.
I really think NASA is a tighwad by keeping all the images it has taken over the years for itself. There is nowhere online to find any high res pictures from NASA, for a backdrop, or even no way to go and look through its back catalog of images, even for Mars. They should open all that up, as it belongs to all of us, all mankind, not just NASA so it can sell a few photobooks.
Gorgeous relaxed views of Mars. Unfortunately my eyes do not permit seeing 3D effects. But even in 2D these images are gorgeous. If you take time to really observe the high resolution details in each image you can spend many hours watching, even if you don't use the extra textual info, which is actually onle one short phrase per image. I have some suggestions for improvement (I'me a Unity developer): 1. I find the geological lexicon interesting, but hard on the eyes to view. It would be nicer to highlight terms in the lexicon in the descriptions of each image. When pointing at the highlighted word, the explanation could show in a popup, and/or could be spoken.
2. A push on the thumbstick could let the slideshow auto play, and pause on a second click. This would make for an even more relaxed experience if you don't use the info.
3. Would it be possible to zoom in on the overview map of Mars, centering on the area where the image is taken? If you could gradually zoom in, the context of the images would come to life. Now they are only a very rough indication of the where abouts. This is extra relevant for the images for which the info states that it is located nearby some other geological hotspot.
4. I guess it should be possible to display a map of the region in which the rover(s) travelled, showing the spot from where each surface image was taken and the direction in which the camera was pointing.
5. The first piece of music seems to endlessly repeat itself. I would appreciate more variation. And also an in-app volume control would be appreciated.
6. When the info is on, the remarks on the control of the show are handy in the beginning, but distract from the overall experience once I was comfortable with the few controls. It would be nice to let them vanish after a while, or on some button click. Maybe a simple small question mark on floor level could make them visible again?
Bad interaction, can be so much better! The depth effect is way too much. It makes all photos look unrealistic, while they are real photos of the surface. The 3D ground photos are much better, but there's no way for me to go to a specific photo, or start from where I left off. I have to restart the whole slideshow from the beginning. The other things is the music, it's pretty bad choice to play some spooky sounding instumentals, this is not a Halloween game. I would rather have spacewave or chill sound. There's a lot of improvements that are needed.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I'm too old to be in the generation that will walk on Mars, but this is the closest thing to it. Love the 3D images, would love realistic depth perception, but those dunes are unbelievable! You don't see anything like that on Earth. The final scene I just sat there in awe, feeling like I have finally stood on Mars. Thank you so much to NASA and the incredible Rovers and the team who put this together. Was every bit as good as going to Kennedy Space Center.
Good. Good idea, good menus, good music, good images, great first person 3D images at the end (Rover perspective) but there are a few cons: -For some pictures there is no location on the overview map or outside of the range of the map -For the satellite pics the height of mountains/crater ridges is ridiculously exaggerated -No overview map for the first person images (if you know by heart which rover went where, you'll still know I guess) -I'm not sure if the scale is right for the first person images. Obviously the pics are taken from the height of a rover camera which isn't an average human heigth and that feels weird
Still good value for money, especially if you always wanted to feel like you're standing on Mars, the last 360 panorama is awesome
Just stereoscopic image viewer. Hoped for a planet-level view from the rovers and such actually in VR but really just a bunch of images you can download for free from NASA. And if you have a pair of Anaglyph red/blue glasses laying around, can download and view with the same effect. Not VR in any way imho
Totally Worth It. Granted I got this on sale for just 2 bucks. But even at full price - totally worth it. Yes the 3d is a bit exaggerated - but as developer points out that is the way the images came from the orbiter. None of this matters really... because you will be viewing real images from friggin MARS in VR! I can't even believe I got to do this in my lifetime. The final panoramas are breathtaking - and that last one - WOW! Music didn't bother me at all. I liked it. Only thing I wish was that the images could have been color. This little experience was a highlight for me in VR.
