"‘Captain Toonhead Might Be The Most Over-The-Top VR Game Ever" - VRScout
"One of the best tower defense games I have played in VR." - VRGameFaqs
*An ACTION TOWER DEFENSE* You'll move all over the map, hammering away to upgrade towers, throwing over-powered chanclas recklessly and taking control of your towers to unleash streams of heavy-metal powered hot sauce and shoot electric beams from weaponized pizza at your enemies.
*The hero we got stuck with* After the squad sent by the World Treaty for Freedom (WTF) got fried in the "burrito incident", it falls to Elliott Salazar, the cartoon-obsessed space janitor and only survivor, to save Earth. There’s a new captain onboard: Captain ToonHead!
*Balance action and strategy* Shooting alone will not defeat the waves of Cyber-C.H.I.C.K.E.N.s and Terra-S.H.A.R.K.s. Combine those PIGñata tower bombs with your chancla throws in a very strategic way if you want to save the EnerCubes and defeat Nicholas Voorhees' P.U.N.K. army!

Captain ToonHead vs The Punks from Outer Space(アクション、シューティング、ストラテジーゲーム)の評価とレビュー
I 100%-ed It. If you are a fan of tower-defense games, Captain ToonHead should be mostly familiar ground for you — you put up different kinds of defense turrets (or “Toonrets”) in designated spots, enemies enter the level in single file, they drop currency (“scrap”) when killed, you get bonus currency for starting waves early, turrets can be leveled up, etc. Typical tower-defense fare.
What sets this game apart from others in the genre is the first-person-shooter elements — you can teleport to your turrets and help them out with your Brent-X Blasters. Other weapons and abilities are unlocked over the course of the game, like manually controlling turrets for short periods of time to do massive damage, or Granny’s chanclas, which never miss and can temporarily stun enemies.
Something else that distinguishes Captain ToonHead from other tower-defense games I’m familiar with is that the enemies don’t try to attack you but rather to steal from you. You see, the aim of the game is to protect beings known as EnerCubes. Some enemies have to carry them all the way back to the entrance once they get hold of them, while others fly away with them immediately. This adds some strategy as to which enemies to prioritize. However, it should be noted that dropped EnerCubes do not immediately return to their original position, so you should still make sure they aren’t carried off too far, or subsequent enemies won’t need to cover a lot of distance. The EnerCubes also represent a second currency in the game which can be used to buy permanent upgrades for your turrets, blasters, and chanclas. If you do not manage to save all EnerCubes in a level, you can come back later and try again. Leftover scrap is turned into bonus EnerCubes at the end of a mission, which makes it possible to grind for cubes.
I’m running out of space, so just two more quick notes:
1. PCVR version runs surprisingly well on my medium PC.
2. I found the story strangely engaging. I like the way the villain messes with your head.
Amazing! It has so many cool and fun features! i love this game and it has such a cool idea and design. I hope it goes way up on the most played game sca;e!

Kid likes it, but it needs the PC to run. ds the PC to run
My son likes the game. I can't use my computer much while he is playing. Wish you could install it to the headset like Beat Saber

Hi Karl, you actually can install it in your headset :) Just go to the Quest store in your headset, just like you did with Beat Saber, look for Captain ToonHead, and you should be able to download for free since you already bought the game on Rift and we support cross-buy. Hope this helps!!
Both Ridiculous AND Fun! Just by description, this game "shouldn't work"...but it most definitely does!
Much akin to when my (now grown) nephew first told me about the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants, the idea is just downright ridiculous...and if not handled 'just right' runs the risk of being a disaster. Everything hits with this game, though -- and with about two missions from [seemingly] finishing the game, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself all throughout.
Where tower defense games can feel very 'passive', this is VERY engaging...yet still has the fun-factor of the genre. It's gameplay is very solid and the mechanics work well, with everything translating to VR very well. It's really the story and characters that make it stand out from "tower defense" crowd though (aside from being VR) -- which are typically barely serviceable, from what I've tried.
I was intrigued but intially hesitant...and am SO very glad I did check it out. Very highly recommended: when you burn through your Oculus Quest 2 internal AND extended battery in one sitting...you know you're having a good time. :)
