dge of Nowhere is a third-person VR adventure from acclaimed independent developer Insomniac Games. Play This If You Like Tomb Raider! If you're a person who liked any of the three most recent Tomb Raider games released for flatscreen consoles/PC, you need to play this game! Also great for stealth/horror fans.Much of the puzzle/platformer gameplay is the same as it is with any of the new Tomb Raider games. The only difference is they did an amazing job of working in a story seemingly inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft, and some stealth/horror gameplay.This game is basically just like Tomb Raider but with stealth/horror elements added in, and made as a VR game.Side note: I played it with an Xbox Series X/S controller for the current Xbox console and that controller worked great with this game. I feel like the Xbox controller works better than the VR controllers with this game.

hidden gem. So far most of the vr games i played was first person and didnt think anything like 3rd person would work without disorienting player but i was wrong apparently :D I've been playing this game since download finished the only time i put down my headset was because my battery run out as my usb port doesnt supply enough power to charge it while playing. I recommend this to anyone that likes lovecraftian horror. Every moment of this game is keeping you on the edge no dull moment in my opinion.

A quality and fun experience but . . . There is basically zero replayability, so you'll go through the game probably one time only and never play it again. And the game only lasts a handful of hours too, which makes is hard to recommend unless you have the cash to spare.The addition of some branching paths, some hidden areas and secrets to find, and maybe even some bonus modes and stuff for completing sections in fast times or something like that would have been very much welcome.If, however, you're fine with spending the money on a one-play experience then I'd actually recommend it; it's actually one of the more polished and engaging VR games I've played. But if you want to get good value for your money, and have VR experiences that you will return to time and time again and ultimately get many, many hours of fun from, even if the main campaign only happens to be a handful of hours long, then I woulnd't recomment this game.But don't get me wrong: It's polished, intersting/engaging, and fun--if you think of it like an expensive extended playable movie experience or something like that.Edit: One thing I would add now is that I think the controls could also be improved with a bit of hindsight. An overlooked classic. I decided to play back through this on the Quest Pro to try out the local dimming, and I'd forgotten just how enjoyable this game is. The graphics don't quite hold up to modern standards, but the art design is strong enough that the game looks gorgeous. The enemies, in particular, are just as horrifying as anything you'd see in a modern game.
The gameplay itself is a good mix of platforming-style climbing sections with stealth interludes, all wrapped up in one of the best Lovecraft-inspired stories in gaming in recent memories. The game can be quite challenging at higher difficulties, and it becomes important (and rewarding!) to use the various systems of the Eldritch ecosystem to effectively and safely make your way through.
A can't miss for fans of Lovecraftian horror or 3rd-person VR games in general.

Hidden gem! Did not write a review back when i played it years ago but it deserves some attention. Really atmospheric horror story. Sit back with your controller and enjoy! Give it a try even in 2023.
A unique VR experience. Was unsure what playing 3rd person in VR would be like, but it's still so immersive and really enjoyable. Amazing game and storyline!

Great game, cozy seated VR experience! I have played this back when it released, just noticed I never wrote a review or gave a rating. 5* all the way, great story, nice visuals, I still highly recommend it. This is the closest thing to Tomb Raider or Uncharted you can get in VR, there should be more third person seated VR games.

This is a great third person game that can be played sitting back on a couch with a gamepad. Loved the story, atmoshphere and sound. I suggest using the oculus debug tool to super sample the game to 1.4 or higher (pixels per display) as it seems to be undersampled if left default and looks blurry.
