'Formation' is a VR game where you pilot a powerful combat aircraft as part of a revered formation squadron. Set in the far future, 'Formation' features a unique core-gameplay experience that focusses on intense formation flying.
THE BULLSHARKS
Decades ago, war ravaged the planet. Driven back in to the sea, the forces of the Allied Planetary Defence were facing defeat. In a last-ditch effort one of the few remaining air units — the Bullsharks — almost singlehandedly turned the tide of war.
For those too young to remember the war, the 7th serve a new purpose. In an age of peace, the once deadly machines of a century-old conflict now serve to inspire budding engineers, scientists and pilots as they thunder through the skies above Ocea.
WELCOME, PILOT
Now that you're up to speed on the backstory, let's discuss this year's mission schedule. Truth be told, 'Air Command' is a little worried about some of the planned formation routines because of how risky they are. Ocea's mayor isn't too happy either!
First things first, you'll need to get your head around the FORMHUD system which will keep you synchronized with your squad. Commander Burns himself is expecting you for basic flight training at 0600 hours.
Not working. On the second mission in the third part I'm pull my hand back to do a loop to loop or what ever you want to call it and even though I'm doing exactly what it wants me to I get out of formation and fail the mission and I've done it about 15 times but it has never done what it was supposed to
Great presentation, gameplay is basic. I mean, I love that this was made by someone who clearly understands the shared appeal of Ace Combat/Metal Gear, so there's a lot of potential for the presentation, but the gameplay/perspective is almost disappointingly arcadey.
Somehow when I saw the motion controls label, I expected to be sitting in the cockpit.
If that's not possible, I would suggest focusing on creating a more interesting control scheme with hidden complexity, like comboing two actions doing an unexpected move.
