Absolutely recommend!! I've been playing for about 3 weeks now, and to say I'm obsessed is an understatement! 🩷
If you're a fan of Animal Crossing, then you absolutely NEED this game! 🩷
It's currently in early release, but the game developers are on discord where you can report any current issues, and they are absolutely amazing at responding and fixing any issues! 🩷
It's so Animal Crossing but in VR ! My First review on Meta I'm new with Meta, I come from Nintendo Labo VR as like my main VR lol I'm also disabled so my grammar is not that good I I also tend to shy away from writing reviews but this game is just too good.
Thanks to the dev helping me figure where & how to review couldn't do so on my meta device... The meta doesn't teach you that x.x
I am playing this game on a Meta Quest 3. Mainly playing seated in a spinny chair, tethered to an Apple iPad 240w 2 meter cable that's hooked to a Mac Book Pro Charger, Anker 100W Fast Charger, 2 Port Power Adapter on the IQ top part it stays charged.
Now onto the game, you ever play Animal Crossing any? It's so like that but in vr! Little bit missing in some features.
you start with a tutorial area, it teaches u like bare basics, then it brings u to your own little planet, the start is slow you gotta keep going back to the tent to talk to the NPC to progress stuffs, but there goals to do, tools to build, also tools have durability so expect to upgrade them fast or plan to make a lot!
As you progress you get a home, place it where you want but don't try the hill it won't work lol I know I tried 6 times & got my home recycled every time lol. Your home can be upgraded for more space, it has a mail box, has a light switch you can walk u to & poke to turn on & off or just trigger switch it, that's the thing almost everything is INTERACTIVE I have seen, you move your arms to grab fruit off trees, you move the fruit to your face to eat it for stamina you lift your wrist to see your watch & stamina, you bend to pick up rocks, you with your hands push shake trees to get branches or knock fruit, the fireworks buy a a match lit the firework with the match, THE STUFF WORKS! Not just looks! oh I love this game!
The game progress this is where I'm at they give u a vending machine, a tent store (I'm sure later it will be buildings) the store has various things basic stuff. The vending machine however has the gems from the upgrades of the tools & you need the prior to have the bigger upgrade, to rides you can buy & interact with meaning u can ride them!
The backpack can be upgraded, it's very nice to like pick up stuff & guide it over your shoulder to auto put in the bag or just open the bag & jam it into a slot make sure it highlights blue.
There is a mirror in your house where you can change your looks & clothing.
Fishing is simply trigger grab the fishing pole (once u make one) swing it out over the water then using your other hand grab the reel thing & you wait for splash then reel in da fishy! Need more fishies! I saw there's 50 I'd love to see more fishies come in the future.
It's like Nintendo Labo fishing pole but without the pole! I LOVE IT SO MUCH SQUEE!! The animals are all voiced, there cute & adorbs, There seems to be weather I'm not sure about seasons? I only been with the game couple days writing this review but I love it! The interactive part is nice, there's a color changer & you can shake the can it changes objects to predetermined colors wasn't expecting any color variety so it's nice to see.
You can grow & breed flowers & flower colors!
I've seen on the discord there is terraforming which leads me to this, join the discord if you have issues in the game, objects go poof like your home.. don't hit the restart your life switch go to the discord they can help ! Don't be shy they are very nice devs!
Okies onto the upsets: The down falls for me:
No balloons to actually hold they just placable deco. There's no museum, no farming crops to grow.. No bug catching sadly..I was hoping to swing a net & catch buggies.. No fireflies at night would love to see this. No full weather all I've seen is rain, No seasons? Would love to see seasons & thunderstorms, deep snow to make snowman in. I'd love to see more fruits like Grapes, raspberries & blueberry bushes, Some bananas be neat & maybe we could peel them before eating! Love to see a Shovel to dig holes Let the hoe be be used for farming, A Hair salon be nice maybe let us even work there & do hair. Jobs to earn money instead of the normal sell this kinda thing. Love to see Coconuts get cracked open to use for crafting or cooking, Which leads me to there is sadly No cooking, would love to cook noms with various mini games! I'd love for storage cabinets to let us stick stuff in them & on them.
No multiplayer is another sad one, hopefully it comes one day & give us games to play too. Little more clothing choices at the start be nice. The character creator needs Skin tones & maybe even some wild colored ones too.
In the end it's an early access life sim game IN VR & a very nice one out of all I've seen. It has a lot of growth to go but at its stage right now January 15th 2024 it's pretty impressive to me as a new to VR user.
Definitely recommend this game. I got this two days ago and it's my go to game now. Have played it at least for 9 hours a day. It's like animal crossing but in vr. To be honest I'd heard of animal crossing when I had a Nintendo ds afew years ago. But I wasn't keen on it. But having it in vr is great. I absolutely love it. What's not to like. The cute animals are great. Makes me laugh at some of the things that they say. There are a few glitches but nothing big it's just when I add things to my backpack they don't always go in. But I've noticed that the next day they are in the lost and found bin.
There is a few things that would make it easier to grab and place. Like when you place a fence or a ornament it moves them. Would be cool to have a function to lock the item in place.
Overall I think it's a great game. The whole reason I got a vr headset in the first place is so I could play games which are fun especially when my mental health issues play up. This game definitely helps with that.
A hesitant 5 stars. I mostly love this game. The dev is obviously working very hard on it. My only complaints are the screen shaking, I'm not sure what the technical word for it is, but I get a lot of black on my screen on the edges that shakes. The second complaint is that the voice acting is terrible. I would rather have no voices, or even ACNH/Sim style voices instead if the only other option is this AI. There are nice positives, such as frequent updates, lots of thought put into the game with the little details and mechanics. I will continue to play and refer people to play and hope the issues get fixed 😊
ACNH & cozy lifesim fans will LOVE THIS! If you’re a huge Animal Crossing New Horizons fan like me and wished it was In VR, look no further and don’t hesitate to get this game! Little Planet granted all your wishes and more with a cozy puppy world with a charm on its own!
TLDR: If a cute dog world with tons of VR immersive interactivity, design options, clothing, items, crafting, fishing, planting, and living your best tiny planet life sounds like your cup of tea you NEED this on your standalone VR headset! If you’re an animal crossing, cozy game VR fan you will grow to love Little Planet!
In depth review: You are dropped into a puppy planet (hope you’re a dog person like me!) and two puppies Yoki and Beagle greet you with an interactive tutorial. You’ll find the inspiration from Animal Crossing’s vibes and mechanics is obvious, but it’s delivered respectfully with creating it own fun immersive experience that can only happen in VR: The world is simple yet beautiful, you have full body avatar that interacts with the world, and objects are graphically simple yet detailed with cute witty designs. The unique dog characters have their own unique voices and personality instead of gibberish sounds. You can collect things by hand or remotely force grab objects into your backpack (pockets)and you have to physically shake trees. Designing items in a familiar square/voxel grid keeps the world tidy and uniform. There are daily objectives on your interactive phone with Star points. Your character can be customized with lots of character and clothing options. The adorable sounds and nature ambience are backed by chill jazz accordion music that changes with the time of day, keeping the atmosphere happy.
Eventually you start to see how much the world has to offer. The control options for teleport movement or full smooth movement are here plus you can adjust audio and graphics to your liking. You’ll meet other adorable puppies that show you ropes in interacting with the world. Trees, flowers, fruit, plants, and minerals/gems to physically harvest or mine with a pickaxe, gardening hoe, or a chopping axe. Hidden treasures to dig up or flying overhead in bubbles that you can shoot down with a pew-pew gun (or physically take down by throwing any item at it)! Tons of clothes, furniture, and interactive objects to collect or design your planet and home with. Even fishing is simply fun with over 50 different rendered floppy fish to catch and collect. You craft formulas (DIY and Recipes) on a magic cotton candy machine, deposit money to pay house expansion, and order formulas from the point redemption machine, and there are rotating unique items in the stores daily. You can even take selfies with your dog buddies with your instant photo camera much like RecRoom or VRChat! It even has depth of field and timer modes! Hours in, I’ve only started to make a bridge, I’m aiming to make Yoki a building, find an inflatable to ride through the rivers– apparently there’s more to the world I have yet to see!
As this is an early access game, Yoki (Amber and the devs) is honest and keeps it real that the game will have bugs and performance issues. If you are a fan of this kind of cozy life sim game, you should be happy with what the world has to offer– Manage your expectations because there’s a great time to be had! After many hours, there hasn’t been frustrating or game breaking issues and the small ones haven’t stopped the fun. The team is very responsive in improving things as it plays like it’s been a labor of love for years and it just left beta the past year. They have set up Little Planet Discord to take suggestions, address bugs, and update features enhancing player’s enjoyment and are dedicated to expanding the game with more features and festive holiday items/events.
They recently added account logins so you can have different profiles on one headset. There is currently no multiplayer, but the LP team has been vocal that they are serious about it as one of the things they want to add (looks like on the previous beta trailers they had multiplayer trials) and it is their aim to eventually include it in the game. It’s obvious that they love the genre and are proud of LP- they deserve support for delivering above and beyond to make this concept a reality! More players need to know this is out; I’ve only found out last week this exists as an early access and adore it. Let’s help them get this to a full release 🐶🌎
Most of all: YOU CAN PET THOSE DOGS
If you want to see a play through find me @JayJayVirtual on YT to see me having fun on a live stream cast of the first hours of the game. Cheers
Animal crossing! Little Planet is so adorable! To the day of this review, it’s the only game I see on the meta store that’s really close to the animal crossing experience. It’s very colorful and the characters are charming. There’s a good amount of clothing to choose from when you unlock the boutique and over 50 species of fish to catch. It’s very immersive! You can see your body and arms!! There’s tons of furniture you can craft to place in your house or around your island. I haven’t unlocked it yet, but there’s a world editor for terraforming your planet to your liking. There’s also mining, logging, light farming (planting trees and flowers), and as stated above, fishing! You have plenty to keep you busy and coming back thanks to their version of Animal crossing’s mile achievements. There’s a cool camera function too, you can even take a selfie with your animal pals or show off your island. When you start progressing through the game, you’ll get to place down your house and each store wherever you like (excluding the town center). I’m looking forward to the future of this game and what more the developers will add.
Animal Crossing In VR. Little Planet VR has released into early access after quite some time of development. I was able to revisit the game and must say there are a ton of things that were added and bugs that have been fixed. Although the game is still in an early access state the improvements are HUGE. This is a world builder that is very much like Animal Crossing that has you crafting various things with resources around a tiny little planet. There are some really cool characters that aid you along your journey and the planet is just full of activities. You can even decorate your own house with rewards that you get through your journey which is really fun. The game has added several new UI features to make things a big easier to use and an updated tutorial too. Overall the game is still being worked on and you will encounter a few bugs here and there but there is a ton of fun to be had here and supporting the developers with a purchase is well worth it. If you like Animal Crossing you will fall in love with this game!
early access issues but worth it! There are definitely things that need to be fixed or improved. If you're not a patient person, then you should wait for this game to be fully released at some point in the future.
BUT .... if you love VR and you love Animal Crossing, you'll get more fun out of this game than frustration!!!! Plus the devs really want feedback!
I've buried myself in this game for hours and hours. I played this almost all of the long Thanksgiving weekend I had off of work! I just LOVE IT!!!!
It's well worth the money!!!!! Devs: multi-player would be THE defining & most perfect addition to this game when it's time for full release!
Animal Crossing has come to life! If you are an avid fan of Animal Crossing, I believe you will enjoy this game. Whether you are a casual player or someone who has plenty of free time on your hands, Little Planet works with all play styles!
From building a world of your own to decorating your LP home to suit your tastes. You can craft, mine, cut wood, go fruit-picking, grow flowers, plant trees, and go fishing! There's plenty to do.
This game is the real deal!
The game is still a work in progress, yes. But what they currently have in-game is enough to give you hours and hours of fun. You initially move via teleport, however in settings you can change this to a free-roaming mode. You can even play seated, so you can make the game comfortable for you to play!
The friendly team behind Little Planet are always working on improving and optimizing this game; they have plenty of ideas currently in development, and are actively including their community in the development of Little Planet. So if you have any ideas, please do share them on discord!
The Little Planet Discord Server community is very friendly, please do come visit if you have any inquires, run-in with bugs or would just like to chat!
Very cute game! The game's a bit slow to start, but once you get into it, it's a whole vibe. Feels like those Animal Crossing days, decking out your planet and pad. Got my town hall up now, aiming for that terrain unlock next. Cute game for sure.
I forgot what i was doing! This is a very relaxing game. As a bug hunter and IT maniac, I generally have a rigorous attitude towards the performance of the game. But when I went to play with the mentality of looking for bugs, I forgot my original intention while playing.
Keep Going!!!. I have always had a special fondness for casual simulation games, trying out various titles on my phone, console, and PC throughout my life. But ever since I discovered VR, I've been eagerly awaiting a social simulation game in the same genre. Building your own world in VR can be quite lonely when you're all by yourself. However, a few months ago, a friend introduced me to this game, and now it's finally launched!
Here, you can basically do most of the things you've ever done in Animal Crossing, and even discover some unexpected surprises along the way. It keeps me continuously engaged, always wondering what hidden features and settings I have yet to uncover. I believe that's the true essence of gaming—discovery, exploration, and empathy. On my little planet, I've already made a few friends, and maybe in the future, I'll be hosting gathering just like on VRChat. As someone who is not skilled in game development, being able to create my own planet gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
I sincerely hope that the developers continue to work on this game, allowing players who live on their own little planets to leave even more precious marks and memories here!
Unexpectedly addicting and amazing. I absolutely adore this game. It's a dream come true for a farm sim fanatic like me, and for someone who loves the chill vibes of Animal Crossing and Dave the Diver, it's right on the money. It's a blast to craft items, fish, and chow down on fruits, making the hours fly by. The only snag is the motion sickness I get after a few hours of play, but that's just me – this game actually keeps it at bay longer than usual. This game got me through a rough time, and the sunset seaside was a retreat from stress that was so lovely to just see. I really appreciated that, as well as the welcoming art style and environment. I was surprised a lot by this game and delighted to find that there was more to it than it seemed at first
Exactly what I expected🔥. can’t wait for the update! This game is just as awesome. It’s relaxing and makes you feel accomplished as well as lets you do things in the order you’d like. I've got vivid memories of this one part: a dog with a British accent took me to see a show home, and it was absolutely fantastic! I started imagining how I could recreate an exact replica of that room. At first, I thought that it needed more of a tutorial in the beginning, but then I was SO glad there wasn’t because it gives you so much more freedom than most games like this. You literally can do whatever you want, however you want, and there are barely any limits. I expected nothing less from this, and hope to see more awesomeness in the future!
ACNH vibe and love it. I must say, this game looks incredible and the gameplay is super smooth. It's a bit like Animal Crossing, but not exactly the same, and I haven't played it enough. So there's a snag - I can't break the green stone? I've been searching in vain for something lol. Check it out later. Also this game reminds me of Raccoon Lagoon, so the dev should learn from their approach. I tried to pet the dog in the skirt, but it seemed to have a weak reaction.
It's a laid-back game, and it's really cool to see things improve and become more refined as you play. This is definitely a game worth adding to your wish list. more mature than early access thougfh
