Epic masterpiece. I remember the first Tale being very short but pretty trippy with the constant changes in scale. Another Tale absolutely blows it out of the water (pun intended).
Seriously, buckle up. The mechanics are fiendishly clever. The physics are spot on, if you're living in Alice in Wonderland. There's a thing called a "backwards brain bike" that basically is welded so turning the handlebars right will make the wheel go left. That's what this reminded me of in a lot of puzzle, where your perspective will be turned upside-down but you still have to maneuver through an environment. It's also like the game Twister, where you have to think very hard about what one hand is doing while the other does something completely different. "Trippy" is being gentle.
But the puzzles are a perfect balance between cleverly challenging and reasonably solvable. There are no time limits on anything (I spent a lot of time in some rooms just standing in place trying to work out the game plan for my brain). Underwater games creep me out (I saw Jaws in the theater as a child), and the obvious progression toward facing the Kraken made me very nervous that something scary would happen, but the game always sidesteps back into whimsical before it actually gets frightening. And even though I love puzzle games, I always need to cheat a little. I didn't have to here. Solutions are readily obvious (or at least less obtuse) by looking around more closely. And the longer you play, the more you realize this game is really special.
I don't finish many games, but I don't think this happens often. As the closing credits rolled, I just sat and took it all in. "Wow" doesn't even cover it. The kind of game I will think about for years to come. I think one of my favorite things about it is there is no real violence. No killing things (spoiler alert). The ending was very compassionate and beautiful. Just, whatever is above "wow" is what I thought.
Outstanding Game!!! This was one of the best puzzle games I’ve played in a very long time! It was great to see Bob again but I loved the story of his wonderful family and got very invested with Nina and her Mum. The puzzles were again absolutely fantastic throughout and were by no means easy, right to the end. I can’t wait for the adventures of Nina someday! Congratulations on the birth of all your little Fishes!!! How wonderful for you all.

Great Heart-warming story!! Fantastic, beautiful game. One of the best stories I have come across while playing VR. I was a fan of the first game and part 2 did not disappoint in the least. Clever puzzles, Great scenery, and Incredible story. I was engaged from start to finish. If your a fan of the first game I strongly recommend playing this beautiful game. I'm crossing my fingers for a third installment of this series!!?
Great Game! When I first started using my Meta 2, I experienced motion sickness and was pretty sad thinking I can’t enjoy VR. I decided to give this game a try. The comfort settings make all the difference for me. The smooth free roam movement with vignette helped a lot. I can’t play more than 1-2 save points at a time, but it’s good to take breaks anyway.
THIS GAME REQUIRES LOGICAL THINKING. It was not hard for me to progress, but I could see how people that aren’t good with logic could become frustrated and get stuck. If you don’t like to figure out logic puzzles, don’t get it.
Another Whimsy Delight! ⛵️💜. The first Fishy Tail was my first ever VR game. I fell in love at once. I played it again a year later after I’d become a seasoned VR gamer and loved it just as much. This second one does not disappoint! It’s full of quirky challenges and an immersive world. I love the narrator and the back and forth venues. It’s total escapism that makes you feel like a kid again. The only thing I didn’t care for is the story. It was rather boring and stupid. I can’t help feeling like the developers ( like Netflix and Disney) are so desperate to incorporate DEI that it became the focus and took away from the game authenticity. The first one wasn’t like that at all. Not sure what the point was but here we are. I still love the actual gameplay and the puzzles are not too easy not too hard. 🥰

素晴らしいストーリーの真のVR体験。このゲームは、「I Expect You To Die」シリーズを少し思い出させる。

A true VR experience with a great story. This game reminds me a bit of the I Expect You To Die series, in that it's a linear series of sections to solve wrapped in an immersive story with great production values. However, this one is more motion-dependent (and pretty clever) with a real story. It feels at times like I'm watching a puppet movie. I liked the first one's game mechanic more, but this one is still a lot of fun, and they're able to get a lot of puzzle mileage out of it.
Beautiful and challenging. For anyone who yearns for something different to the PVP shoot’em’up style games, look no further. This beautiful game is truly refreshing and manages to make great use of the 3D space in VR, challenging the player with puzzles and a great story line. I really hope this game-maker keeps going!
Experienced player. First review ever! Ok. I have been playing oculus for at least 3 years now. I have never left a review. I started with the first Fisherman's Tale when I first g ot the headset, and it was an eye opener for a newbie in the VR world. I've played countless games since. The first was a great intro to VR. I didn't expect the follow up to be so good, so mind bending, engaging and emotional. Well done!! My compliments! I look forward to more :) 5 stars all the way.
Beautiful Game. What an emotional journey this was. They have figured out how to make a very realistic story in the most unrealistic way possible. I laughed, I cried, I had a blast with all the goofiness of the puzzles. Of course the game is not perfect, some of the mechanics were wonky, but gosh they were so creative. Can’t wait for the third installment!!!
Enjoyable game! Recommended. I loved getting to play the part of Bob as he tells all his stories. Many puzzles are based on using his body as you might move a puppet, often moving the various hand appendages independently from the main body. I always worry about getting stuck in puzzle games, but this one gives you some hints, even with the hints turned off (in fact, I wish there were an option for no hints at all, even in the narration), which helps you to progress. The story is interesting and probably most parents could relate to it (committing to domestic life can be pretty scary, but this story reassures us that adventures can still continue, even after you've lost your "freedom"), and many adult children can relate to having to pack up a childhood home. These are real life, heavy themes which are dealt with tenderly and with love in this story. I also thought the length of the game was appropriate and didn't feel like it was too short. Some places are physically really fun, if you can take the motion, like zipping through the water as you swim. It made me want an actual VR swimming game. I'd love to have a virtual playground where you could just swing from hook to hook as you traverse a large area. Perhaps some kind of add-on to the game? I didn't really run into any bugs, except that I had a hard time throwing my head where I wanted it to go in one place, since it seemed like it needed to go there, but kept getting blocked. Eventually, I clumsily found a place I could make it stick, but then I would try to crane my head to see over the edge of an opening and kept running into the blackness after I got out of bounds. Everything else seemed to work okay, and I was happy that you could pull body parts back to yourself, even through walls and other obstacles. I am looking forward to the next game in the series. I hope we get to hear more of Bob's stories, since he is a likable character with the wisdom of age and a colorful past. But I will be happy with Nina as the adventurer, too.
Loved it! I really enjoyed the first Fisherman’s Tale and was not disappointed with the sequel! These games are a lot of fun to puzzle through and the change of scale and scenery along with the story are very enjoyable. Sad it has come to an end and hope they make another one!!!
Even more charming and challenging! I was a big fan of the first game and so I was excited to see that they released a follow up. Not only does it not disappoint, but it is even more charming and challenging than the first one!! I love it!!!!🙏♥️
Mesmerizing. What an amazing title! Played the first one, “A fisherman’s tale”, it was original, concept and all but didn’t wow me, a little repetitive gameplay. Came to the second and… oh my! What a fantastic experience. The story, the puzzles, the gameplay, originality, voice acting, the scenarios. I teared up at the end, not gonna lie. Incredible, challenging. 10/10

This game is a fantastic ride. The main gameplay mechanic of this game is very cool and interesting. It legitimately stumped me a couple times (which is a good thing). I wished that we would get more of the dollhouse mechanic from the first game and was disappointed that we didn’t get that but the game is still fantastic!
