I appreciate the innovation in VirtualSpeak. I suggest adding a cold call simulation feature. This would not only help users practice and refine their communication skills in sales or customer service scenarios but also assist in navigating through gatekeepers effectively. Enhancing this aspect would greatly increase the practical utility of VirtualSpeech.
Role play with ChatGPT is great. I love the roleplay with ChatGPT funtion. It helps with English speaking skills a lot. I like how there are now five different characters to choose from and they have basic facial expressions now. And the Cafe setting is quite immersive. Only problem is the APP is sometimes buggy and unresponsive.
Amazing tool to improve soft skills. Overall I'm very pleased with the experience. AI avatars feel realistic, they are capable of having unique tones (for example an unsatisfied or frustrated employee). It allows practising difficult conversations and experiencing situations that normally could happen 1 or 2 times a year in real life. So it's useful not only as a language learning tool but also for training soft skills usually expected from managers.
Unfortunatelly there are still some bugs. The most bothering for me is the issue with the microphone/audio recording. I tested it with a built-in mic and also external mic and the results were the same - for some exercises the app records only a few first seconds of your speech. However, when talking with AI avatars the microphone seems working fine all the time so it must be a bug. Sometimes an exercise is supposed to prepare you for distractions during your presentation but no distractions are present during the exercise. From minor bugs sometimes a header and description don't match or the description of an exercise and actual options you have during the simulation don't match.
I wish the bugs (especially the audio recording one) were fixed and the price was more affordable but overall I highly recommend this app as it is now.
Buggy. Should focus more energy on helping people overcome fear of public speaking. Need much more “exposure therapy” type engagement. This will unlock demand for all the other features.
BE WARNED!!!! Inappropriate content. Be wary of any of the virtualspeech content that incorporates AI in any workplace or social settings. The ex tempore speaking exercises involving AI art will eventually insert sexualized content, including nude women in suggestive poses (one wearing no bottom, and another bending over). I used it in a group setting (with children present), and I'm not sure I've ever been more embarrassed in my life. I contacted Virtualspeech, and received an email from the CEO - but since then I have not used my subscription because I have not received any assurance that the issue is corrected. I would warn against this app!
Has potential but somewhat buggy. And.. So this is very informative overall it has potential. I could see me using this to simulate interviews and practicing my presentation skills but I did see some room for improvement. The AI interrupted me several times in the auto mode and in manual mode it seemed to get confused if it was listening or answering my question. It seemed to only work after starting up after a few plays it started to mess up. I kept having to restart the app and it shuffled me through a few different looking AI but I noticed it's lacking women of color it could be that I only spent maybe 30 minutes in the app but still intriguing.
Improved my English speaking skills. This is a very useful app that helped me to improve my English speaking skills with ChatGPT integration and AI powered Q&A; it saved me from spending £25 an hour for English teachers. As a result in 3 months I got 7.0 speaking score in IELTS exam.
I look forward to practicing my interview skills to land the dream job.
BTW I discovered they also have eLearning content and VR in your browser version of an app for those who do not have a VR headset.
Highly recommended!

It helps with my social skills. I have really bad social skills and this helps.
Big improvement! I've been using VirtualSpeech for a while now and they keep adding quality of life improvements, such as a single key system (It was a MASSIVE pain to enter all the courses previously). They seem to be doing a lot to make the rooms better too. There are a lot more 3D scenes (my personal preference), rather than the 2D ones. They are still there, but more content is always welcome. They've also started to add in some AI stuff, so instead of spending a bunch of time uploading questions I can just select a topic or a job role I want to be interviewed for and get going straight away!
Great AI roleplay update. I have been using the app for a while, and I love the AI roleplay room, its great for practising! Answers vary on what you are saying and its like having a different conversation every time.
I also like that you can choose your own name now. I think it really helps with immersion, feels like I’m doing the real thing. Recommended!
Too many problems at the moment. The tone definitely needs to be adjusted. People might write (formally) like Chat GPT, but nobody speaks like that. You need to pre-prompt it with “conversational” or “casual” or “informal”. Maybe “Spartan”.
Having to press a button every time you speak is not very immersive.
Also the window for saying something is incredibly small, most of the time you get cut off.
The voice interpretation system needs to recognise when you have stoped speaking, and maybe learn to interrupt (like in real life) if it gets too long.
I’ll be back if these areas improve significantly.
