Vrickey is a VR vertical shooter with a twist—you use your body to guide the spaceship through the maze while clearing the path with twin guns.
Make sure you keep away from the falling deadly balls, survive the trippy magic potions and dodge the cannonballs, relentlessly aiming for your head. The journey won't be easy, this challenging arcade will put your focus to the ultimate test!
The game can be as large as you wish—it adapts to any room size. It works best with a rectangular play space that allows more movement in less space, as it uses one dimension for moving. A large Guardian can turn the game into a fun fitness experience!
FEATURES
- Campaign: 5 stages x 10 levels = 50 levels in total - Arcade: Infinite survival in normal, hard and turbo modes - 4 different weapons - Using movement and body gestures to control the ship (see below) - The game scales to fit the play space; increase the boundary size for a larger and more difficult game - 3 different achievements per level - An optional, distraction free “Zen” environment
GESTURES
- Raise your hands to speed up - Crouch to slow down - Lean back for backward flip - Jump to activate a special weapon
Amazing concept, great workout! This is a unique and quirky shooter and workout game, it's amazing what developer's can achieve with original thinking!
Prepare for what is called a good 'Side Shuffling' workout as this game sends you rushing back and forth sideways in order to navigate a ship through an obstacle course while having to shoot at objects to clear it's pathway. Buy it! Five stars from me. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Good idea that need polish. The idea is fun, the graphics are great and the musics are fun (but are too repetitive).
It's a good idea to be able to adapt our playspace. Making it automatically match our guardian isn't (mine's too big by default). It would be great if there was a recommended/default playspace size for "optimal play".
To change the playspace, we need to change the scale. I think it would be better to be able to change juste the playspace and make the ship more responsive in smaller playspace (without making everything seems tiny).
The tutorial video is fine and having it in the background in the home is great, but this game lack a proper tutorial. A good tutorial needs to be interactive. It needs to have us do all the possibles actions and validate them (most games do this just fine).
Crouching down to slow down the ship feels unpractical. Since crouching slows down our lateral move, the bigger the playspace the worse it gets. Moving left and right while staying crouched down is hard, a button press could replace that just fine.
This is a fine app lab game which could become a good official game with a bit of polish.
Arcade Style Game That Requires FOCUS! Gameplay: This game is simple. Take your spaceship to the top without hitting the walls or any objects that may come your way. Simple doesn’t always mean it’s easy. The navigation of the spaceship requires a minute but precise navigation that will have you focusing SO hard on the game. I’m an avid gamer myself but I literally would fail about 3-10 times before beating a level and… you could just imagine the gameplay time available through the 36 levels in this game.
Music I always appreciate the in-game music for games. Vrickey has the option to change in-game music through controls in the game which really matches the style of the game. The dancers in the background have great moves and dance to the music!
Tips: Since you use the movement of your headset to control the spaceship, the larger you have your guardian, the more you have to move. There are some pros and cons to this. The pro is that you could end up moving A LOT which gets some sweat going and it may be easier to control since the spaceship’s movements are not as sensitive if your play area is larger. The way my house is set up doesn’t allow me to move around all that much so that is one con to keep in mind. I ended up making my play area smaller to account for my house setup which makes the spaceship more sensitive to your movements but I personally liked this more as I prioritized beating the levels over moving around. When it comes to 3 staring the level, focus on the spaceship as a priority and shoot the glass blocks from your peripheral vision. Just to note, 3 star requires you to navigate the spaceship as well as shooting all glass blocks. I’ve made the mistake multiple times where I focused on shooting the glass blocks, which made me lose focus on the spaceship and ended up putting me in a really bad spot.
Overall: I definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes a challenging arcade game!
Challenging and fun game. The interesting thing is that in addition to hand-eye coordination, the body also comes into play in controlling the spaceship - and that's what makes it so challenging! The game is quite difficult because you must not touch anything with the spaceship, otherwise it's game over and the level has to be started from the beginning. Quick decisions have to be made about where to fly and when to shoot which block to clear the way and not get into difficulties. So you have to play with a high degree of concentration.
Good game, but I still have a few wishes...
I miss something like a high score list!!
I also would find it interesting if there were difficulty levels to choose from. Level "easy" with 3 lives, level "medium" with 2 lives, level "hard" as it is currently with 1 life. Or alternatively, make a checkpoint in the level where you can restart if you die.
Another idea would be different game modes. For example, collecting something in levels and then receiving upgrades for the spaceship would also be interesting, such as being able to brake for longer, or even fly backwards, or temporarily shrink the ship, increase the bomb range, became invisible for 10 seconds, or similar. This would bring even more variation. There are still many ideas, I think the developers themselves have them too.
I hope this game also receives updates and continues to develop. So far, I like it very much, it's a very good start and I enjoy playing it.
Tip: In the settings, you can use "Scale" to reduce the playing field. Then you don't have to run so far to the left and right to control the ship. For example, I play with 30% and it fits perfectly for me.
There is also a demo version in applab if you want to try this game first.
Pretty cool. The visual style and atmosphere of madness in the game is truly impressive, particularly the background figures that dance in the game. The gameplay is simple to understand but challenging to master as it involves using your body to navigate a spaceship through a maze and breaking glass obstacles. It's a relaxing and satisfying experience that's perfect for those who enjoy simple yet demanding games and are looking for a way to achieve zen.
Not bad. Was hoping for more. I was hoping this was more of a block shooting game rather than guiding a ship through a maze. This takes you right to the border, so make sure you have lots of room.
The block shooting is fun but unfortunately not what the game is focused on.
I'm sure this will appeal to many, but without leaderboards, I find people lose interest in games like this quite quickly.
Retro FPS Arcade Shooter Where you Dance. This game is just amazing. It's like an arcade machine and Beat Saber had a baby. Its retro arcade action, where you control the ship by moving your body to the beat and shoot the block in first person. This game will get you up and moving. The sound track is great and makes you want to dance, while you try and guide the space through a maze of vertical blocks.
The game relies on room scaling to move the ship. The ship is tethered to you, you move left the ship moves left and so on. You blast the blocks in the ships way with two hand guns. This is a very active and fun game, and still packs that arcade challenge.
You can set the games play area to the same size of your place space, so anyone can play and enjoy this. This is new take on arcade action and a sweet VR experience. If you like to get up and move to the beat and get a fun workout, Vrickey is a game you need to try.

Unique Arcade Shooter. Vrickey is a unique arcade style shooter. The first thing that caught my attention is the music. The music makes you rush with nostalgia of old school Tetris. The graphics and characters are a bit different but are clean and fit with the games futuristic vibes. The goal of the game is to guide a ship through a maze full of obstacles in every direction. You control the ship with your body in the real world with movement. This actually can give you a pretty good workout too! Make sure you have a decent sized space in order to play this game because you do have to move from side to side a bit with a few squats in between. Shooting blocks with your blasters feels very accurate and crisp. It also gets your hands moving with that workout. Overall the game is fun and a different style of game that we have not seen yet. One thing I would like to see is some sort of accessibility options for people that may want to play while sitting in a chair. The other thing is the tracking feels a bit off and you do have to get used to it. Maybe, add some other controller options for movement.
