Perfect Adventure Game. This game is wonderful! I'm an Adventure gamer hard core. I love Myst, Monkey Island, Seventh Guest and Scratches. I literally search them out. This, I'm happy to say, is right up there with my favorites. Good puzzles, good story, excellent villain.
If you, like me, thought the first in this series was good, but not great (sorry guys!) Then you are in for a happy surprise. They improved on everything the first one lacked, but kept the wonderful setting, great characters, beautiful animation and logical controls.
If you like adventure games, you're gonna love this.
Whoa. I’m only about 10 minutes into it and it’s already blowing my mind. The puzzles are fun and the story line, like the first game, is captivating. If you enjoyed the first one and love puzzles this is definitely for you!!
Just finished it and all I can say is I can not wait for the next game!
A great step up from the first game. The Secret of Retropolis was a very short game, divided in two chapters: this sequel has four longer ones. The scope of the game is also larger, with more numerous and detailed locations to visit and a much more fleshed out puzzle element. The plot, although sometimes a bit farfetched, is more engaging and builds tension from the very first moments, but also has a lot of humor and fourth wall breaks, which are hilarious and on point. Peanut Button has grown in VR expertise since their first game: while the control system is still mostly an old school point-and-click, there are unique VR interactions that make you feel immersed and would never have the same impact on a flat screen. Another great asset of this game is its cinematic soundtrack, which I was really impressed by! I strongly recommend to play the first game before this one to get to know its characters... and also the third one, when it inevitably comes out, because Retropolis 2 ends in a cliffhanger and doesn't really conclude any major plot points. With a spin-off, Retropolis Dot.line, also being available, Retropolis is, in my opinion, the best VR point and click adventure series.
Great Story with Engaging Puzzles. This game is great. The puzzles were pretty tough but stayed fun and engaging without getting frustrating (Unlike some of Grim fandangos puzzles). The universe feels real and lived in. Had some minor lagging issues on Quest 3 but the developers said the issue will be resolved. This game is amazing! play Retropolis 1 if you haven't.
It's Come Full Circle. From 2016 the era of Quill experiences have become almost nostalgic. It feels refreshing to play a game built like this compared to most contemporary releases. The art direction is on point, the writing is great, and the puzzles are complex enough to justify calling this a game. Retropolis feels like a timeless classic no matter which Quest generation we're on. I look forward to part 3.
