Have you ever wanted to be a hairstylist? Or maybe you just love having fun? Grab your VR controllers, and get ready to snip away! Bizarre Barber is a surreal, fun & fast-moving haircutting experience set on a subway platform.
Really loved this game! The scissor mechanic really could only be done in VR, and since it's all based on motion and doesn't require any buttons, it's super easy to pick up and play. It's a great game to introduce someone to VR!
Hair raising fun! Love everything about this experience from the music to the artwork to the snarky robot! The animations and interactions are clever and cutting all that hair is a great workout!
Imaginative & Whimsical. Turning a NYC subway into a hair cutting parlour is a quirky and wonderful concept. While the train glides past you, strange creatures with octopi-like hair poke their heads out. And their movement as well as hair movement can vary in rather unexpected ways... which makes the task of cutting hair more challenging and fun. Initially, I thought the scissors would be awkward to hold via controllers... but actually, they felt quite natural in hand.
The creatures react to the cuts with exclamations - all in English - and it might've been interesting if some of them had their own alien language and weird squeals, squawks, sniffles etc. That said, their reactions to cuts and pokes were amusing and aided immersion.
In addition, the animations were well done. Bravo!!
Living out my Subway Barber Dreams in VR. This is such a weird cool example of what makes VR great! Bizarre Barber wraps a fever dream of hair slicing & dicing on a New York Subway in a fun addictive experience.
