VR shooter with roguelike elements, In Death is set in a procedurally generated, surreal medieval world with monsters, mysteries and loot. Driven by an achievement-based progression system that advances between sessions, each run is unique, with unpredictable outcomes. Make intense kills with your longbow, raise your shield to block ranged attacks or defend against short-range melee threats. Bash enemies to buy time for that short-range headshot. Upgrade your bow with special arrows by looting monsters, finding pick-ups or by visiting item stores where you can power up to help you blast through ever harsher enemy encounters. In Death introduces a fresh movement system built for VR. Switch from combat arrows to a magic teleport arrow to go anywhere you can shoot. And throw the single-handed teleport shard to strafe, clear corners or quickly retreat from overwhelming opposition. If you prefer, opt for classic free movement navigation.

hey quest 3 got an upgrade...why not pc?. why punish the pcvr crowd who use the queest 2?

Addicting! Originally I thought this game would get repetative very quickly and end up on the Uninstall pile. Nope. Plays great, introduces new baddies and new features at just the right pace to keep me coming back. I suck at the bow but love the crossbow :)My guilty pleasure game. I WILL CLEAN OUT THE PIT ONE DAY!Good game, I want more by this developter :)

Only Thing Missing is PVP. This is a great single player game. It's only "multiplayer" in the sense that you can compete in a ladder score contest that most people can never top. It's fun shooting the bow and arrow and getting better at headshots.

Excellent. A little one dimensional in that it's fairly limited as a concept but that said the gameplay really draws you in. Challenging and very easy to find yourself hooked. Locomotion does give you an advantage but this can be combined with teleportation so there's the option to limit it's use if you have a low comfort threshold. Looks beautiful with the settings turned up. Well worth buying just to duck and dive some arrows and flail aimlessly at giant violent knights!

Played this Games at a friends house. It was the deciding factor in me getting an Occulus. I can't wait to see the end product.
Game is still working as of January 2023. Yes game is fully working as of 18th January 2023. Yes 2023, not 2022. Maybe it's Doodle's pc causing issues.I bought this game a few years back & only recently installed it, on Jan 2023. I was really worried it wouldn't work given Doodle's comment. But absolutely no issues whatsoever. Runs really well. Been really enjoying it so far. Spent a few hours playing & will be playing it a lot more.
revised review. I had this game from when it first came out on the cv1 and admitiedly had a time when the game was buggy and just wouldn't work on my system at the time but coming back to my old CV1 head set several years later I can say it's still a great game just a shame Sólfar Studios gave it up and the new version is quest only

A Bug to fix. Game is Great .But Endboss Gabriel the Fallen,falls out of the screen.forever lost-
No save No easy level No Quest2. Terrible game. No way to save progress. No easy/medium/hard level selection. Very glitchy. If you want to play the same game on Quest2 they want another $30. What a rip off!

Great Game - No longer works. Edit: Game no longer works - Buyer Beware.
I find this game very addicting, the fact that you start out at the begining each time you die was at first a little frustrating, specifically when I got to Paradise Lost the first time and then died right away. However... the fact that you keep unlocking new ammo, new enemies, new sub-dungeons, etc combined with the randomly generated levels, it doesn't bother me one little bit anymore. In fact I use that time to gather up the most/best arrows I can find to power through the following levels and sub-levels. I have heard people complain about bugs in the game, but I have not experienced any bugs so far after playing for about 20 hours and 53% completion status.
My only complaints, first I can't challenge my friends unless they are in the same bracket as me, this really upset me and my kids. Secondly that there are only 2 levels (not counting the sub-levels, which are optional). Once you get past Paradise Lost, you go back to the first level on a higher difficulty, then Paradise Lost again on a higher difficulty. My last complaint is in PL the Cupids sometimes spawn directly above my head making them very difficult to find/kill before they shoot a couple arrows into me.
Overall, I highly recommend this game. If your arm gets too sore using the bow and arrow, try using the crossbow after you unlock it. It takes a little bit to relearn how to properly use it but will allow much longer gameplay if you have weak arms.
steaming mad. this game blew off with a fatal error i uninstalled it per oculus and now i can't reinstall it fix this problem at once i pid to play this game.
Love it. seen posts about people whinging about only teleporting, you can walk its very slow but works fine. It is quite hard and i love it, my pc runs it perfectly.. Would recommend it
No Crossplay. Decent app, warning no cross play. This app will try to squeeze you for a extra 30 if you want to play on oculus and via link cable.

beautiful graphic trash physics. the success of in death unchained on the quest shows just what a missed opportunity this game was. Right now if the original game devs would just update the physics to match that of unchained this game would probably get a whole new player base. as it stands you can oniy fire arrows extremely slowly and same with the shard. i routinely score over four million points on unchained with a max score of 5.25 million points and i can barely get out of purg on this version. anyway please update the physics for a better rating,and a whole new player base. Update : game can't be played any longer on oculus , yet it's still for sale.
