The best VR game that existed. To an absolute mess and waste of all the money I spent. Hopefully they can get something worked out because this game is essential. The other pinball games are terrible in comparison. Pinball enthusiasts want to play their favorite classic and modern real life tables and the recreations and physics in this game are unbelieveable.
Could be Better. A decent game. I would have given it a higher rating, however, the table selections are poor. There are differnt veriations of the same titles. Not Worth Paying for the tables. Very weak selection. They need to add Indiana Jones and Heavy Metal and tables from the classic library. Seawich, Star Gazer Meteor, would be a good ones for example. Lets make this a great game . Please!!!!!
Pinball Arcade R.I.P. I've owned Pinball Arcase since it came out 2D on the PC. There's no denying the way it was marketed and what they achieved by digitally recreating all the classic tables had every pinball fan sucked in. It was THE pinball simulator even in 2D, nothing came close to it. And then Farsight sold out to Stern.. no longer able to buy the Williams tables, lots of unhappy customers and the whole thing started to die. I've just purchased an Oculus Quest 2 and was browsing titles when good ol' Pinball Arcade popped up, but of course now it's Stern Pinball Arcade. Read the horror story reviews whilst installing it and thought 'it's OK I own many tables it will let me port them to VR and play them' nope.. Not only did I not have access to the many I've purchased there's only about a dozen left, 3 of them AC/DC tables, oh well there's the saviour for me.. nope, AC/DC tables no longer available. This is a sad, sad shell of what was once the greatest pinball simulator ever, granted what's left does look fantastic but there's going to be precious little here to interest most fans. I hope Farsight / Stern can sort this mess out one day, I don't see anybody else acheiving what was once the greatness of Pinball Arcade again.
uninstalling 30 minutes after installing.. nice one Shortsight Studios.
Controls broken and not re-mappable. The game is definitely pretty and initially seemed to be running fine on both my Rift and my Quest 2 via Oculus Link. Yeah, the unskippable table-loading animation gets really old, and the volume is a bit wonky because the SFX and Music seem to be tied together, but overall, it appeared to be a decent VR experience.
That is...until I tried to operate the flippers--the left flipper worked with the left Touch trigger just fine, but the right flippers only responded to the GRIP button! The controls render properly in the 'Controls' submenu so I know they are recognized, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get the right flippers to operate via the right trigger. Okay, maybe it's just a problem with the rather pricey Star Trek IAP table I bought--um, no...every table behaved this same way. I switched to an XBox controller--again, the controller came up beautifully rendered in the in-game submenu with all the button labels intact; only the game didn't respond as the labels suggsted. The left flippers responded to a left trigger pull, but the right flippers only responded to the right bumper button.
I guess the games still "works" for the most part, but using different controls that respond/feel very differently between the right and the left hand is almost game-breaking for me. I have yet to be able to find an applet or config file to remap the Touch controls--at least the XBox app kludges a fix on my Elite controller.
Oh, one last gotcha if you're coming in fresh without knowing how the token system works. IAPs let you purchase tokens which can be traded for ingots (for permanent table acquisition), but the price of each ingot goes up with each purchase so a pricey token pack won't buy you as many ingots as you might think (i.e. the first ingot is 1000 tokens, but by #8 it's nearly 3000, and so on). Just keep that in mind in case you were hoping, like me, to add a few new tables to the mix by converting tokens rather than buying them outright
Was Great.... Played without issue for the longest time, but now I cannot reset the challenge feature, it just crashes the game and I have to relaunch... So no more challenges for me. Some of the tables have physics issues where the ball just keeps going and going (ie. Casino table, ball goes infinitely around the roulette wheel, ...) Seems from other comments this game has been abandoned, a shame as it was quite enjoyable!
good but lot off troubles. frankenstein table loading screen keeps "loading" nothing happens challenge mode doesnt reset used silver coins for the challenge but table blocked
some tables can no longer been played. recview changed per 01-12-2020: While the game its self is still nice (physical good etc), its a complete nogo to show tables im are no longer aviable to play. THis is not a good experience anymore. its its look like the game does not do any maintime anymore.
Not free. There are no free tables, everything costs money once installed. Falsely advertised as free, it is not. If they had a flat fee for all tables I would have bought it but they want to nickel and dime you for each table. You can't try a table before you buy. Rip-off.
Getting whiplash from the crashes. Looks nice, however game constantly crashes. Can't finish a single game. It's a shame, because i was actually very interested in a game that offered real tables. Too bad.

Looks promising if you have an account. I can't create an account, because I'm scared of filling out forms.
Broken! Abandonware......Stay away. You are being warned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got the game not long ago for AC/DC, well it's in the store but they lost the rights but don't yank it from the store (no biggie)! Bought Ghostbusters had fun playing it but now there is a loading screen bug when u try to load tables it just says loading till it kicks you back to main menu where you can't do anything but quit app! The company has obviously abandoned this game because NOTHING new has been released in a good while! Do yourself a favor, save your $$ and stay far away from this rubbish. Oculus needs to take this crap off the store already!
Works now...change 1 Star to 5 Stars. UPDATE 08-21-20 HADN'T PLAYED IN QUITE AWHILE NOW. NOT A SINGLE FREE TABLE NOW. DELETING.
I have no idea why I was having so many problems getting this thing to work when I first DLd it but now it works great.
The graphics are amazing and the table physics are as good as they get. The only minor deduct is that the interface is a little clumsy but I'm not sure what to suggest that would improve on it.
Not bad. graphics are decent for vr but hardly any options.Cannot find any options to adjust table only reset vr option.if i stand up then reset veiw then the table is at the proper hight when i sit down again but its like afoot away. The table sound is linked to the music so if you turn down the music you can no longer hear the table mechanics.Basically no options in this game at all for anything.Gameplay is smooth in vr but tables are expensive and not very many of them.Zaccaria pinball vr is way better on steam.I think they abandoned this game just like they did to The pinball arcade version on steam. If you are looking down at the table just stand up reset veiw then sit down table should be at the proper level thats what i was doing if you have this problem.
Up your game. Firstly, these are beautifully designed tables and great fun, as is to be expected from Farsight Studios. I own Pinball Arcade in Steam and have all the tables there and would have LOVED to have seen them all in VR; sadly the licensing with Williams/Bally expired so we are just treated to Stern but these are nice tables non-the-less.
The not so good - there's some annoying bugs and it would be nice if they could be fixed. Whilst at a table after a game if I click to replay it can hang on the load bar meaning I have to come out of VR and end the game in taskmaster then relaunch. However, I discovered a workaround. After a game if I click Options, then Back, the table will launch as expected. Also if I go into the Earn Tokens menu and try resetting it (as I'd failed it and therefore couldn't continue) it crashes the game. I don't have any workaround for that.
Things I dislike - positioning the table based on where you're looking and pressing X. I like the table to be high but when I play I'm looking down so if I accidently press X during play it moves the table quite some distance beneath me and shrinks it which is disorientating. I shouldn't be fighting with views whilst playing Pinball. Restricting it to between ball launches would help or have it in a menu. The nudge control is on the left thumbstick and I would prefer it on the right, being right handed. There's no option to change this. When selecting a table there's a nifty animated sequence that removes the table up into the ceiling and brings down the new one. However, it also does this if you're selecting the table that is already there - replacing it with... THE SAME TABLE! :D An opt out would be good actually as it's nice the first few times and then just wastes time.
All that aside, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this game. I do hope that Farsight are still in this following the losing of licences as they make marvelous tables. It having some bugs really lets down their good name.
Not able to play the table I'd bought. Just bought the Star Trek table but still got sent to the token screen, I don't get it. I read about some lucky people were able to get pass that via re-loggin to the app, didn't work for me.
Very disappointed.
UPDATE: After many random acts of logging in/out, restarting the system. resintalled the app. nothing works except when I aimlessly going in and out of the token page, all of a sudden it snap and started to work, so as the next 2 table I bought after that . It's just silly to create this much stress just to play a table we paid for.
When it's working , this game is fun and beautiful -- just wish they will take care of bugs like this because this game is amazing in VR when it wants to work. I do wish they add the option of skipping that table loading animation though.
(Same with the Oculus Go version which I bought all the tables, there is a bug that you need to unload the battery from the controller to keep it off when starting the game otherwise the table selection screen wouldn't load. Crazy bug to had left still unfixed till these days ).
