Come on and port this to quest 3. It's a new wave of vr players and this is what the people need, come on devs and get this extra money other pcvr devs are already doing it, bring this gem to quest 3, it's nothing like this in the Meta app store so don't cheat yourself pay yourself, this game is off the hook I've had this for years and it's time for a come back, so like Nike "Just do it"If you port it people will come, so come on let's do this it's already people wanting to play this, so don't beat yourself treat yourself 🪐🌎🚀

It never worked for windows 11. I never got to play this much on release, it still is not fixed. Do not buy if you are running windows 11.

長年このゲームが大好きです。最初のトレーラーを見たとき、すぐに買ってしまうと確信しました…実際、プレイする前に買ってしまいました（Viveは持っていたのですが、ReViveを動かせなかったんです）。2台目のヘッドセットはRift-Sで、クリアできないほどイライラするまで何度もプレイしました（地球が爆発して最初からやり直さなければならないアニメーションを見るのが本当に嫌になったんです）。それでも何度も繰り返しプレイし、今も2025年のQuest 3で実績とトロフィーを狙っています（序盤の銃器が素晴らしいんですよ！）。他のVRゲームもやりますが、気分転換したいときや、他のVRタイトルのぎこちない操作に飽きているときに、いつもFrom Other Sunsを起動してしまいます。このゲームは本当に大好きです。FTLやファイヤフライ（テレビ番組）を思い出させられます。もし自分でゲームを作れるとしたら、このゲームをもっと開発し続けたいと思っています。未使用要素の中には、開発者が何を考えていたのだろうと思います（船長室のコンソールなど – 計画は何だったのでしょう？）。コミュニティはあまり活発ではありませんが、ソロプレイがほとんどです — でも、まあ仕方ないですよね。マッチを公開して、ゲームを起動する際にDiscordに投稿しています。もし見つけられれば、ぜひお立ち寄りください！大歓迎です！

I have loved this game for years. I remember seeing the initial trailer for this game and knew I would buy it instantly... and I actually bought it before I could play it (I had a Vive but could never get ReVive to work). My second headset was a Rift-S and I played this game even though I could not beat it to the point of frustration (I got so sick of the animation seeing the Earth blow up and having to start from scratch)But I have played the game over and over, and even now in 2025 on a Quest 3 I am achievement and trophy hunting (you get great starter guns!). I play other VR games, but always find myself loading From Other Suns up when I'm looking for a good time and am tired of janky mechanics in other VR titles. I LOVE this game. The game reminds me of FTL and Firefly (The TV show). If I could make a game myself, I would love to continue to develop this one more. I wonder what the developers had in mind when you see some of the unused elements (like the console in the Captain's cabin - what was the plan there?I mostly play solo as there is not much of a community out there - but that's OK, we take what we can get. I like making my matches public and post on Discord when I fire up a game. Feel free to drop in if you can find me! You will be most welcome!
Fix for crash on startup. Occurs on newer CPUs only. To work around it create a .BAT file on your desktop and enter the following lines (adjust path if necessary). To start game without crashing just double click on batch file. c: cd C:\Program Files\Oculus\Software\Software\gunfire-games-llc-fos\FoS set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 FoS.exe
Gunfire Games Magnum Opus. The game "From Other Suns" is in a class by itself when it comes to the dynamics of VR gaming, with fluid movement and quick draw mechanics, it stands apart from most of the clunky and slow paced FPS games in the early years of virtual reality. Even now, the game is a testament to the care the developers took to make such a fluid and spontaneous game that can deliver a fresh replay with new and random occurances in each play through. Don't take my word for it, play it for yourself. P.S. I have solo'd the game a few times, though hard the first time around, it can be done, and gets alot easier as you progress.
This game is amazing. This is one of the best PCVR games arounds. One thing of note. I did have to adjust a windows enviromental setting for my Intel 12700k in order to get this to work. I would recommend this highly.
Update?. What the heck is wrong with this developers? This is one of the best games in vr! Why theres is no update? Because updates makes no money!? Shame on you...

It sucks because it looked like this game is abandoned and no future update for fix. but I originally plan to play this with friends but only I am getting this issue. Additionally, cant play on airlink due to disconnecting to internet ( removing my lan) so it double sucks for me. Its really fun game tho.
