Good concept, poor mechanics. The concept of this game is absolutely brilliant; having super powers is something we've all dreamed of having since we were children, and I can't deny that being able to finally have that is amazing. However, the mechanics of the game are - to say the least - extremely bad. Using ranged offense powers are difficult and have terrible aim. The fireball power was difficult to use and constantly went in directions I didn't want it to, and the fingergun power was off on the horizontal axis, not to mention that the telepathy power is basically useless. Also, having powers like the grappling hook are completely and utterly useless after unlocking flight.
The game also lacks content. Once you finish the sandbox (which really should just give you all the powers from the start so you can mess around, since it's a SANDBOX), there's really nothing left. Maybe adding something like a story mode or multiplayer would fix that, but until something that pushes in more content comes out, I don't see the issue being fixed.
On the bright side, the comic-esq design of the game is unique and low poly, making it easy to load and run. I was upset that I couldn't use the joysticks to turn, since only having two trackers limits my tracking to the front, but gradually got used to it (even if it was a pain to lose tracking and die).
Overall, not worth the $10. I could understand the drawbacks and functionality if the game were $3, but with such a pricetag, I'm feeling buyers remorse. Bottom line, wait for the game to have more features before getting it
Early demo quality, but brilliant moves. This game is super minimal (I see it's far from finished), but it has a bunch of interesting movement options in a sandbox type area. Some of these have special mission objectives, which are a good feature but still need more elements. The Dash level should be made into its own full campaign (seriously), because that had brilliant moments that made you feel like you were a speedy hero...just not much to do in the game part.
Not very "super". Can't decide facing direction when teleporting or "flying". Have to physically turn around. Flying is really just changing POV... no momentum or speed control or turning ablility. In other words, you become a 3d mouse pointer. Suddenly takes you out of the "action" and plunks you down at the starting point over & over. Shooting is beyond cartoony... as is the whole thing. Maybe will give it another try when it's finished.
