Most enjoyable multiplayer zombie game. I join a buddy every weekend to play this game, and it's awesome. We graduated after playing Arizona Sunshine for months and this is such a sweet upgrade. We did have connection difficulties one day but that was a server restart that was resolved (their support let me know the next day). Since then it's been good, - him in the UK, me in New Zealand, the other side of the globe! I usually play PC and him on Quest 2, but I have also played on Quest 2. The cross-buy means I can choose whichever platform I feel like - I'm glad I bought the Oculus version because of that! All in all we've spent many fantastically fun hours in After The Fall. My only small gripe is that positional audio doesn't seem very good. There's a zombie scream noise when new zombies arrive and it always comes from just behind you, no matter where they come from. But apart from that, it's great.
One thing that seems to be unique about this game is that it supports teleport. So if you get motion sickness, this is a great choice.
NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY THIS GAME!! NOW is the time to buy this game. I bought this before its initial release, loved it but it was not quite enough content then , but NOW it's amazing. The Devs have worked HARD to advance this game and it shows. It's now got tons of maps, all the variety in weapons and attachments and skins to chase after to keep you coming back endlessly to the best co-op shooter period in VR. It's been the best since day 1 but was a repetitive grind past a few plays, now it’s an endless smorgasbord. The community has bounced back tremendously as well, finding matches is no longer difficult. I think this game proves what so many other developers have tried and failed to achieve, if you keep developing a good game the VR community will embrace it, you gotta be willing to support the game long term. There have been so many VR games released without the content needed to keep interest and they just abandon the project instead of listen to the feedback, gladly this game doesn’t fall in that category. I think there's still more great things on the horizon for this game, I'd like to see more sub-quests in Harvest Runs where you have to find specific items to repair or harvest. I'd like to see you be able to earn more inventory slots and have some melee weapons. How cool would it be to have to cut off a Juggernaut’s head while he holds you to harvest for a sub-quest in a Harvest Run? I respect keeping this game running great on Quest 2 yet still having the graphics and lighting effects of a AAA title on PC and other platforms. I'm hopeful when the quest 3 is released this game will be at the forefront of pushing standalone VR forward.
Read my review. After a few hours of play, I can definitely see this game becoming one of my favorites. The gameplay is great and the content isn't bad. It's astonishing how good this game looks on the Quest. The devs have already confirmed they'll be pushing regular content updates for quite some time too. If you want to kill hordes of zombies with your friends, this is definitely the game. I never expected this type of game from the Arizona Sunshine crew. Great work!!!
(Also, it's great that there's cross buy & cross save support for quest/oculus!)
Good game, but always getting kicked out. The game is good, I'm playing with my friends a lot. But every nights we play.... we end up get kicked out without reason... One of the team goes back to meta menu without warning, no apparent connection issue, nothing. The game simply shutdown right in the middle of our play session and then two or three of our crew member get stuck with a random AI in game. Please solve this issue, it's really getting on our nerves, really reducing the value of the game. It feels like a bad demo. And with other zombie games coming out, we will simply move on if this doesn't get solve.
Amazing Potential. (update: I feel like some of the stability issues have been addressed so i have upgraded it to three stars) I would have given 5 stars if not for some of the bugs. My main complaint is the constant dropping out of games. There are things that could certainly be improved, and I'm sure they will. (Update: I have reduced my opinion of the current state of the game due to mechanics. The game itself is great, however the difficulties need to be better balanced, the glitches need fixed, and most of all they really need to fix the group finding feature. Its hard for me to find a game where the lobby leader does not just drop out and kick the whole team. Players should be able to join mid game as well. I also hate the constant "gear shuffle". It's not a fun way of completing anything. It's just silly.)
i can't play! I bought this game several months ago, but due to a bug not fixed by meta and the developers, I can't login to the game server with my meta quest 2. 30 euros wasted
Error 1004409. Still can't play. People have been complaining for month now and can't play the rift version. Only solution given is create another meta account and play from secondary account from the quest 2. This is NOT a valid solution.
Invisible enemies. I had plenty of ammo and it all disapeared at the very last round.
I kept getting hit and couldn't figure out why. Looked around and there was nothing. Turns out the enemies were all invisible.
AR-15 gun sways when you move... in VR. It has a sway. You can't keep it steady. It's really dumb.
Cheaters glitch the game and ruin the game for others trying to play the game normal.

Doesn't work for Quest 2 app or PC. I really wanted to play this game, so a couple of friends and I all downloaded for the Quest 2. After the intro mission, the game says "Authenticating Game Service" then kicks an error code. I have tried playing on the Quest 2 app, as well as linking to the PC and trying that verison. Both produce the same problem.
Multi-Player Fun. If you are a fan of Left for Dead series, Back for Blood... this is your game. Cross Buy should be standard these days and this game has that. It is limited on the campaign, but has alot of replayability. With increased difficulty you get better rewards, better rewards = better mods/weapons. Horde mode is amazing and keeps you hustling to stay alive. Wish it had melee weapons and more campaign levels tho. But amazing game!
Awesome gameplay, graphics & upgrades. The core gameplay and gun mechanics is solid. It's interesting to see how the recoil changes with different barrels and grips. (Not always best to use the rarest attachments !!) It's fun to find rare floppy disks and upgrade your favorite guns. You can store 9 on your wall rack next to the gun range. My favorite is Horde mode, survive as many waves as you can, intermission + floppy awarded after completing every 5th wave. PLEASE MAKE MORE HORDE MAPS !!
Great Zombie Co-Op. Refferal Below ↓↓. This is my favorite zombie VR game so far! They did an excellent job. The zombies are pretty realistic, the guns are so fun to reload, and the Co-Op is very well made. I was worried there wouldn't be enough game time, but the seven maps (as of Feb 2023) and the different challenge levels make it replayable. I'm going to try Demeo next :) Here's a referral code if you want to try it out:
Amazing on PC+VR!!! The graphics are mind-blowing when you're connected via pc!! ATF with the significant visual bump when linked up is exactly what VR is all about! If you want an epic, beautiful and challenging horror games, this is for you! Deserves 10-stars!
sigh..... Why would you fix something that wasn't broken? The teleport system was fine. The tommy gun, was fine. How about focusing on the constant crashing. I glad I have a big library of games. Sigh, you took this game from a 4 star game to a 1 star game.......real quick. At least give players the option of teleport syle they want to use. Sigh, it's WHATEVER......you got my money but I won't be telling anyone about getting this game, like I use to. I brought you a lot of business. Sigh......
