You can feel the physics. Walk without restrictions, in and out of locomotives, changing them as you see fit. Couple and uncouple trains as you complete your deliveries. Choose new deliveries freely. Take many at once if you will. Service your trains after derailing. Do this all spontaneously, and at any point you can save and continue later.
Derail Valley includes full support for both VR and PC play modes.

Not ready for early access. This game is not ready for an early access release. The terrain is bland, nothing to it. Grass, trees, etc spawn on the tracks. There are random holes in the ground. The performance on my rig (1060 3GB, i5 5500k 3gHz) is usually less than 5FPS when even close to a loco, let alone operating it. As FargoPelz said, the game is a stuttering mess on midrange hardware.The item system is extremely unclear. You start out with a lot of items after completing the tutorial. If you shut down the game, all those items are gone. Essential items like your wallet, the junction changer, everything. There is no way that i can find to get them back, so you're screwed.This could be acceptable as a free demo, but a $20 game is just ridiculous, and borderline scammy. It should not be in early access by any means. Learn from my mistakes, don't waste your money until it either gets a full release or gets major improvements.

Great game! The game is great, and with the future expansions it looks to become more and more fun
Perfect for lovers of Railroads. From Diesel to Steam Locomotives, it's a grand game. Coupling and uncoupling cars, switching movements, and delivering cargo. It's a ton of fun.

Disappointed. I've had this game a long time and it is a great game but we got our first update in a long time today but the patch notes have a note saying "Changelog will be updated soon".

Extremely Fun Simulator. This game is a very fun simulator for those of you who like trains. Operating the train is so smooth and there are no bugs I have found so far. It does lag a little bit, but nothing too crazy. The controls all fit well and I like how interactable the environment is. I am excited to see how this game will change in the future.
When do we get the updates on VR?. Been playing for years but feel left behind by the Steam community when the VR users haven't seen an update since August of 2021.
Great simulator, but... It would be great if it had a "free ride" mode in addition to the career mode, where you could just drive around to enjoy the scenery and the game. The career mode is sometimes too detailed for me, you get lost here in job descriptions, track maps etc. It's too exhausting for me and I usually can't play for more than an hour before I lose interest. Sometimes I would just want to drive around with the locomotive I like and enjoy the scenery. But the career mode kills my fun.

I was missing something like a Comms Voice interacting with me and telling me what to do... In general the Towns and places feel like dead western Citys.
Another thing is the missing Multiplayer or at least a local Multiplayer so i can show my son how to handle a Train in VR. That would be awesome.
Exactly what I want (Get 25% off). I love this game, it's everything that I have ever wanted from a game. It does have bugs, but that's to be expected from an early access game, it is definitely better than when I originally purchased it though. The devs are very clear about what they are doing and there is a huge overhaul coming in the new year which should sort out many of the issues the game may have. Game is good. It is very fun, But i have a suggestion. Can you add a sandbox mode, were you have infinite money. And all the trains and stuff because i really want to drive a steam train but its going to take me forever to get. Just a suggestion
