Wanted to give 10 stars!! I am soooo in love with this game so far!! I had no idea I would enjoy it as much as I do. The locations are so vibrant and gorgeous! I cannot wait to unlock more!! And the fish, omg, they are so unique and adorable! The sounds make catching so much more thrilling!!
Gameplay is smooth as silk. I have played for a few hours now and have not had any issues which is rare upon release! Hats off to the developers!! The controls are familiar as other VR fishing games and you can fish one handed as well.
You collect items with each fish you catch and get rewards for completing mini missions alone your journey in the galaxy. You use these items to craft items like lures to keep advancing. You can decorate and unlock things to personalize your aquarium on your ship to make it one of a kind.
AMAZING GRAPHICS. This game is not only extremely fun, but has some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen. Each unique creature has so many details that it must’ve taken years to design. I highly recommend this game for people of all ages who are looking to have a fun time. I especially recommend it to those who appreciate detail.
Fantastic. This is by far our favorite game! I spend most of my time playing this game, feeling like I'm in another place on vacation! My husband still gets a little motion sickness playing but this game doesn't do that to him. Anyone can play!
Beautiful game. Galactic Catch is an incredibly immersive VR fishing game that takes me on a delightful journey through unique interstellar landscapes. The attention to detail is astonishing, from the vibrant aquatic life to the stunning cosmic backdrops. The intuitive controls make casting and reeling in a breeze, while the variety of fish species keeps every catch exciting. With its relaxing gameplay and visually stunning environments, Galactic Catch is a must-play for both fishing enthusiasts and virtual reality fans
4.75 stars! Will be a go-to! I gave this 4.75 stars, because I have a couple suggestions that could help push this over the top...
I desperately try not to compare games, but I'd be lying to you and to myself if I didn't admit this was highly reminiscent of a few games I already LOVE... but they are combined into 1 solid game in a fantastical world here.
Leaving out other game names here, I will refer to features. Instead of trophies, this has missions and it does have three aquariums that you can decorate differently and add 40 fish into each one (120 fish total). There is even a setting for one-handed reeling but I didn't see any options for left-handed play. If you've ever played other VR fishing games, then you won't have anything new to learn when it comes to the controls. The gameplay is quite similar. Even the menus were familiar, but there are some minor improvements. For example, I love that we can unlock new items to put in our aquarium or in our gear/tackle box but we are not automatically awarded them. We have to earn resources while fishing and then we can craft those items for use in our ship or our tackle box. In that manner, it felt a little bit like another popular island game that Nintendo released. There are multiple map locations on multiple planets so I feel like this game could go on forever. This is gonna be a great addition to my fishing games, because the whimsy and joy are unmatched. This deserves its own space right up there on top with the big league games.
Now for some constructive feedback: Having 2 separate settings menus was a bit misleading. At the opening, the "settings" is for language only. Inside the game settings (the menus where your gear is stored), you can enable one-handed reeling (thank goodness - accessibility features are SO appreciated!). I couldn't manage to find left-handed play (read the end of this for a correction), nor could I switch controllers simply by pulling my left trigger. I also wished the tutorials were a bit more indepth. It took me 3-4 tries before I truly understood how to make the turbo option work.
Either way - this is fun for ALL AGES and is endlessly playable. I hope the missions never end as I love having small goals to make the gameplay rewarding every time I play.
Correction on left-handed option: I was attempting to swap hands with the rod in hand. After reaching out to the developers for help, I received the following response: "You can grab the rod while it’s in the stand with your left controller." So I just may have needed to put it down first. Will try it out next time I power up my headset.
Infinite Potential. We finally have real competition in the VR Fishing space, this game has seemingly come outa nowhere for me yet has done everything it atempted to do perfectly, firstly the setting being in space/ planet to planet and obv alien fish essentially means the devs are not boxed in by real world fish or surroundings, so you are getting truly unique and beautiful locations and ofcourse alot of fish so unique, some are cute, others funny, a few abit scary but all are screenshot worthy
Your always gaining resources to craft different lures, aquarium backgrounds or decorations, you can switch between 3 aquariums and once you craft decorations you can then place them exactly where you like in your aquarium its a customization option that is appreciated,
Two controller and a one controller option is available for fishing which is fantastic, more options are better then less, there are charms to equip and powerups to ya rod to craft, graphics are great the reflections from the water especially was impressive, you can even teleport into ya aquarium to get a bttr view of the fish u place in there at which the audio changes to reflect u being under water (nice detail)
When you bring a fish in from the water you can aim at it with either controller and hold the trigger button to pull it close to you and turn it etc to get that screenshot u desire and see the detail of the fish (always worth doing) each fish has different patterms of fighting back trying to escape so every fish fight is unique and ofcourse they have a weight/size system in the game aswel as a star rating so for many the temptation to get that 3 star rating for every fish will keep you coming back for more,
Also the lures you chose to attract certain fish actually work in this game to a balanced degree whereas in other games I've tried they either make no difference at all or its negligible and that detail to balancing that system needs special praise in my opinion
Theres clearly more to come with either patches or DLC which is very welcome, there is no multiplayer as of yet but the devs are aware of that request via there discord,
The foundation layed here with this game and its systems being about as close to perfect as ive seen a game release at, these devs are very talented and really care and that shines through when you play, and they priced this game VERY aggressively which shows intent, this game is going places (other planets, new Galaxies)
The key to longevity will be new locations n fish and always having things to work towards to unlock etc, leaderboards mean nothing to most people so i advise you not go down that road, However i personally see a opportunity here and thus my own personal request,
Getting the 3 stars for all fish will draw people back in however because of the unique fish, i feel post story the Perfect reward/unlockable would of been (Shinies) akin to pokemon, ie special or Perfect color variations of all fish, which ofcourse would then be the most rare to find or extra difficult to bring in and ofcourse those would have there own special star ratings aswel thus something to go after, post game and i feel that could still be implemented via a patch or dlc but i thought that would easier then new fish dlc, either way id love to get that,
Other then my own personal request the only thing i felt perhaps was missing was a Fishipedia with Lore for each fish which im sure people would actually read given the games setting and the cute, funny, and scary fish awaiting in the deep,
If you took the time to read this Long Review then you must Trust Me by now, So Yes i Highly recommend buying this title enjoying the game and writing your own Xtra long review thanking the devs and praising there great work, 👍
💎 25 OFF✨Not Your Typical Fishing Game! Galactic Catch takes the fun and relaxation of virtual fishing out to the great beyond! The mechanics are easy to grasp and the environments and fish are are truly out there.
This is the third VR fishing game I’ve purchased and definitely my favorite!
Beautiful. I saw Galactic Catch on the Facebook group Total VR Gaming and I was convinced by the coverage they gave it to buy a copy. I'm so glad I did! It's beautiful right from the environments to the gameplay everything feels very professional and highly polished. I love all the tank customisation and the ability to catch so many different varieties of alien fish, the game constantly surprises me and keeps me occupied with the crafting elements. Galactic Catch is easily my favourite game on Quest 2
Catch Fun Fish. Not all games should be about the pew pew, some of us enjoy getting to take it slow and just collect fish. That's where Galactic Catch comes in!
If you've played Real VR Fishing you already will have the mechanics for this game down. Most of this review will be a comparison between the two, but I'd still say get both! I enjoy Galactic Catch over Real VR because of the fun alien fish you can catch and collect, as well as the alien environments. On your home ship you can (of course) display your fish and can customize the aquarium background and *choose* where to position various aquarium accessories.
The accessories and backgrounds are unique to each location, so as long as you catch more fish you can unlock materials to craft more cosmetics. I also appreciate the missions/quests they give you as it gives me motivation to keep going.
If there are any negatives, I will say the music (especially the catch music) gets a little repetitive. Being able to have a Youtube player in game like Real VR Fishing does would help with this greatly, or even an option to turn off the music.
Galactic Catch is great for someone who wants to fish a little less realistically, and would probably be great for kids (or kids at heart!)
Charming and Zen Fishing. As someone who normally doesn't care for fishing, I was surprised that I got super into this game immediately. I intended to spend maybe 30 minutes giving it a go, but ended up playing a whole hour before realizing! The environments are immersive and pleasant, and once you get the learning curve for catching fish it becomes a super fun meditative experience! I really like how many different species you can catch and display in your aquarium- it makes it a fun adventure of discovery in space! I can imagine myself taking a fishing break during my week to relax and reset. Would recommend to all types of people, especially those who love collecting or are looking for a nice, chill solo game :)
P.S. I love being able to lean in and look at my newly caught alien fish up close- it's a great feature of the VR and gives me a kick looking at my new fishy friends :)))
Incredible Game. Galactic Catch is absolutely perfect in every way. From the lush colourful environments to the excitement of what kind of exotic alien species you will land next! It plays incredibly well, the physics make this game stand out from the crowd. You really do feel like you're trying to land a big catch!
I adore the mini missions and crafting elements. Getting to fill the tank on your spaceship is a great touch! It's fun to see all your catches swimming around. And being able to customise it with various backgrounds and objects is really cool. I was getting Flight of the Navigator vibes 😅 I think the narrative is really fun and compliments the characters, the dialogue had me laughing out loud in places.
I hope you're incredibly proud of what you have accomplished. Galactic Catch has most certainly put you on the VR map as a development studio. I look forward to the future and many more successful titles.
Great Game and looks FANTASTIC on Quest. I was genuinely surprised hopping into the game to see the amount of things you can either unlock, grind for, and add to your collection! Not to mention the visual quality of the app was really impressive for this to be running on the Quest 2! I was never a really huge "fishing" person but the game is super entertaining! Just wish there was multiplayer tho
More fun than fishing in person 🔥. Had so much fun catching all the fish!! The maps are so impressive and colorful. Ended up playing for a bigger chunk of time than I thought I would.
It's way harder than I thought it would be but was able to figure out how to get it done.
Super dynamic and would highly recommend checking it out and playing. Not to mention the story...amazing.
Completely took me off guard! This game really took me off guard. I went in and expected to play for 20m min and played over 2 hrs. Can't believe how good this game really is. If you like Real VR Fishing and Bait, you are going to absolutely going to love this game.
Out of this world fishing! I LOVED IT. The immersion as you fish across alien worlds is something else! Im having a ton of fun trying to catch all the alien fish and unlock every fishing spot 😄
Great new way to fish! Excited to catch the Nightcap Angler and get that one in my aquarium!

If you see it for what it is and are just looking to kick back and fish in alien worlds, you'll have a lot of fun. Arcadey experience with a big heart, not just for the kids.
Great casual fishing game with a twist. My full video review: https://youtu.be/96XEEfIH5ls
A great fishing game for those looking for a casual fishing experience with non-realistic settings. It's not as expansive as some of the other fishing VR games, but I was fine with that as I personally prefer a more arcady and casual fishing game, at least at this current time.
The fishing mini-game's gameplay mechanics are well implemented, and there are cool locations to fish, along with well-made music, visuals, and sound effects.
In my opinion, the 3D models of the fish could have been made more interesting and exciting. However, apart from that, it's a fun casual fishing game with sci-fi settings and cool upgrades and mechanics, perfect for those seeking a unique take on the genre.
