Nice concept, controls not accessible. Love the concept but the controls seems really broken. Select to place a turret or my base and then expecting to just point to where I want to place it. However, it seems to only want to place it right underneath where my controller actually is. How can I place turrets and buildings at the resources around the map (room), without me having to keep walking around all over the place?
I was hoping I was just missing something and was hoping there would be a help tool or tutorial somewhere but there is nothing, not even a controls guide.
Other things in the game controls strangely as well, like not being able to scroll through the build screens with the thumb sticks, instead having to grab and scroll using triggers which just isn’t intuitive.
Hoping I have just misunderstood the controls and the developers can reply to this review and help, at which point I will gladly try the game again and update my review as it really is a cool concept.
UPDATE:
Thanks for the reply from devs. I understand your idea of moving around the room to place the buildings and turrets, but that doesn’t make the game very accessible. I was hoping to be able to play it sitting down, which isn’t possible with the current controls. It would be great to have the option to use the controller pointers to place things as an option.
Updated review to 3 stars and would gladly update review further if more accessibility friendly controls are added so the game can be played while sitting stationary.
Mr. Q. Lovin' this little game. Normally I don't write reviews but in this case I was very pleased with this VR augmented reality game 😀.
I am now on the endless waves stage and it's challenging.
It's great to see the waves coming out of little portals around my room and defending my base against every wave. One mistake and it's game over!
I wish it had a save game option!
This game format has great potential, for example... WW1 or WW2 battles or Rome era with barracks and so on. If that version / Option was available or a new Augmented reality game was available like this I would buy it immediately.
Great little game - needs some tweaks. Love the implementation of the game and it makes me smile seeing the attackers walk and fly across my room towards my base! Good variation of enemy types that steadily build up.
However, it feels like there needs to be some tweaks: Unit prices seem quite high given how little money the base and the Extractor generate. Being able to upgrade the Extractor to generate more money seems like an obvious element that has been missed.
Research prices for new towers seem incredibly high when you can't generate enough money to research AND build that tower.
No pause or quit buttons? If my base is going to be destroyed and I know I can't stop it, do I really have to sit there and watch it be destroyed?
Having some sort of interaction, abilities or powers would be great to help defend your base - look at Iron Guard and the spaceship that you can use to fire at enemies or call in airstrikes.
Each level seems like you need to use specific turrets instead of being able to play freely.
The Sniper tower is called 'The Best Defense' in the Lab rather than Sniper for some reason. Took me a while to figure out where it was!

Best MRTD. Really enjoying the game, some quality of life is needed to really make it shine 1. A way to speed up enemies 2. A way to end your go without waiting for your base to be destroyed 3. Starting a wave early grants you extra gold 4. Research timers should be deducted for starting wave early 5. Not played enough to know if you can upgrade non turret buildings, adding a base upgrade with a small turret would be cool 6. Would be really nice to have landmines and maybe even planes and if a turret is in an elevated position gets extra range. That's all I can think of right now thanks for bringing us an awsome mixed reality tower defence
