Fantastic even for non civ fans. I did not expect to enjoy this game so much, but here I am, itching to play more. I have only skimmed the surface and already I am hooked. I never really played these long format civilization style games, but the premise got me into it and gameplay never let go. It just feels amazing zooming around the planet, building this and that, checking how your transport is doing, should I build this.. do I need more of this or that?
The game is paced great where just as you get a handle of things and it starts getting easy, they throw something new at you. Not just catastrophes to deal with, believable story and fantastic voice acting.
Treat yourself to this gem. I doubt I will get to play anything else for the rest of the month.
One Of A Kind In VR. I didn't expect much but Per Aspera turned out to be a super-addictive experience for me.
The VR interactions are very intuitive and smooth and you really feel like there’s a whole planet at your fingertips. Seeing how your actions transform the lifeless red planet towards green and blue is rewarding. Plus there is a story with a few unexpected twists and some decision making that makes the game really entertaining.
And then it’s a rather long game. It took me about 30 hours to complete the campaign and for the most part I was really engaged. The gameplay is pretty much balanced, not too simple and yet without ever getting too focused on the dreadful micro-management. So the game kind of hits the right spot here for the broader audience, though it might not provide enough challenge for the genre diehards.
I think Per Aspera is one of a kind on Quest these days – or at least I know no other city building game with this level of complexity and quality. Thumbs up to the devs.
Addictive in depth gameplay. This might be the only strategic building simulation with such high amount of complexity. It keeps me hooked, never feels punishing.
Just one little issue is the amount of calls or self reflections popping up which interrupt my thoughts and close the building menu. Nothing gamebreaking though.
Red 2 Green. I've never played this genre of game before, to be honest I've never even considered it. But, there was something about the notion of terraforming Mars that piqued my interest so I took the chance.
I'm so glad I did!! I'm now at stage 4 of the process and I'd say that the game has the perfect blend of letting you get on with it and interrupting you with all sorts of drama and problems.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the game ending... maybe we'll get to terraform another planet in the next game by these devs??!... here's hoping.
Ad Astra is the best city building VR. I used to play city planning games, like Sim City on my Mac for years. I enjoyed them and the level of detail and complexity. Ad Astra combines those types of details plus terraforming Mars for human inhabitants. At first I used the tutorials and “sandbox” to learn how to play. Now I’m playing the full game and it’s great. I love the way you have to use limited resources to build the manufactured materials you will need to build more complex buildings for human habitation. I feel like I have a lot more to learn as the levels of play get more complex, but it’s great fun.

Great in depth resource manager! A+. Ive been watching this game for a while and was on the fence about it after playing Cities VR and Little Cities. This is by far the superior builder on Quest2. At first I was a bit like it's ok but now I've played for a good while this game is brilliant and gets better as it goes on, especially the story mode. Good voice overs and story plot and tbf the graphics and scale are decent too. Extremely in depth game with ALOT to research, unlock and build. Also theres combat/military aspects in this game that I didnt even expect which is cool too, slight command and conquer feel in places. Easy to play and follow the tutorials. But if you forget any info it's all in the knowledge base which is handy for reference. The story makes you take choices also which actually affect the game. If you want to get stuck into a mars terraforming resource manager building game this is for you. I get lost for a couple hours at a time with this title and currently it's the only game I'm playing out of 40 titles I own in my Quest 2. Really surprising title and a must have. A pleasant break from all the generic FPS games on here. A++
Awesome. Have only been playing a few days and know I’ve barely scratched the surface. Can’t put it down and really excited to see how the story develops. I like resource management games but have never played one with this level of complexity. I’m super attached to my little world I’ve built.
Note that it crashes on startup sometimes. Twice it has taken two restarts to get it going. Aside from that I only have one small bit of feedback that I felt a bit motion sick playing, especially the first couple of times (seems to be getting easier the more I play). I’m not new to VR and don’t get motion sick that easily, so I just wanted to note that.
Anyway, I love it and it’s just what the Quest needed.
Bof. Had high hope for this one. I love simcities and such but this one. Just Bof
I played like 10=20 hours. Got the Terraformer 4 award and the immortal award and many more. But i still don't know what an AquaDome really does.
The voice acting is great specially from Amy. The story is nice but does it have an ending ? I need to bring down the planet temperature but how ? Or is that it when you beat Carmine ?
Best terraforming game i have ever seen. Literally everything about this game is good. The gameplay, the decision making (and that it actually matters) the graphics, and the story. All of it is just perfection. Honestly i loved the story, it's a real "choose your own adventure" kinda vibe with the different endings. I hope they make a sequel. That would be cool. 👍
Bug. Hello developers i think ther is a bug so yesterday i was playing per aspera then all off a suden i start losing nitrogen and oxigen fast but i dont have any oxgen suckers so please reply to my comment
Watch the green appear in real time. If you’re in to base building simulation games, then you’re in for a treat. I’ve played about an hour, and it’s so good, and I can already tell it’s story rich. You should read one of the more in depth reviews too. I highly recommend this game.
Cant believe how good in VR it is! It's all there, a challenge, great UI and VR interactions, a scale of Mars planet and really sci-fi vibe. Best strategy on Quest platform. Wish all DLCs come to Quest also.
Great but one improvement needed. Updated to five stars; I’m glad to see the opening credits can be bypassed now.
The game itself is a lot of fun. But getting into the game takes a lot of time both in loading screens and, more importantly, having to watch (sloooooow) credits at the beginning of the campaign mode every new campaign. I’d give this 5 stars if not for how long it takes to actually start playing.
