Terrible User interface not intuitive. While all of the gadgets you love from the IOS version are there and sound like you’d expect, the user interface is unusable and not intuitive.
It crashed multiple times before I could open it. Then I entered a room that appears well arranged with tracks surrounding you. But then you try playing notes and they don’t play. You try a bunch of key combinations and finally discover you have to press a two key combination in order to play a note.
So then you try to find a manual or guide, and first you have to figure out the right key combination to open the manual.
Important features that are right out there in the IOS version are hidden in menus unnecessarily, when you have so much more screen real estate in VR.
It seems like whoever is designing this is not a musician, and doesn’t grasp some basic UX/UI standards for VR. Just to rotate oneself requires a two button combination. I’m sorry but asking people to pay $30 for this when it’s not even ready for beta is really upsetting.
Needs work. I didn’t find this intuitive @ all..the interface still needs a ton of work. I think it’s great idea and have used the iPad version for years. There just needs to be a lot of improvements made. Please keep working on this though because I’d love to produce in a vr environment.
Add passthrough with mixed reality! Please add passthrough with mixed reality like Tribe XR! It would be great to be able to see the virtual instruments inside my real room with the cameras. Please include that option in a future update!
Thanks, I've been waiting for this app for a long time. I hope they give it a lot of update support as they have done on mobile devices.
Needs Midi IN! This app has great potential, but sorely needs the ability to connect a small midi controller to it so we can play these instruments hands on!
Crashing on launch Q2 v55. I tried it once before and couldn't get much use. Almost got a sample to play, no interactivity with any samplers / consoles. Tried today and it launches, shows the main environment then crashes to home.
Great VR port of famous Beat Making app! I recorded my first beat making adventure (before reading the manual, to see how much I could figure out) and here it is! https://youtu.be/ht_qD6IjbpE Lots of fun, an app we already love from other devices, in a new octagon shaped room in VR! It's incredible and impressive they were able to do this port. A good "starting line up" of musical devices are available, enough to make a complete track of your choosing! (I would like the Tokyo drum synth to be added! But the London drum sampler will do for now.) I've had a great time using it thus far! My one criticism is: Some parts of the User Interface, and the way that our VR hand controllers interact with it are a bit unusual, different from the other VR apps we have been using. For example, I'd want to directly grab knobs and other controls with the trigger and "just move them" as in other VR music apps, but in this case you must first point your laser line at the control to change and click the trigger, then use the right hand thumb stick and buttons to change them. Perhaps more controller modes can be added in future? Overall, KORG Gadget VR is great! And it should be one of your first VR choices if you like to make electronic or hip hop beats! Looking forward to how the app will progress.
