Game-ending glitch. I'm enjoying the game despite some trouble with the controls. One problem is that the locomotion is a big step back from other games. But the fatal flaw is that I can't toggle one of the tools, the bubble gun, which makes it impossible to advance.
GOTY 2023. I can't find the right words to describe the beauty of this title because I'm convinced that it wouldn't do it justice. Personally, I am convinced that he deserves GOTY 2023, I hope so, with all my heart
Beautiful game with bad controls. It's almost impossible to play and you have to do stuff over and over again because it's not registering stuff with a timer in the background. It's a great idea but super poorly executed.
looks fantastic sounds fantastic. that being said, it doesn’t play fantastic… Some of the challenges are a little bit ridiculous given how Jenkee the control scheme is… I seen on the reviews, talking about the checkpoints and how you have to keep going back and doing the same stuff, and I agree with those people…
It’s an absolutely beautiful game visually speaking… The colors are incredible… The animations are clever, and the plot is really dystopian and interesting. I totally get that Jeff Bezos… I’m surprised he hasn’t Sued you lol also, you really get emotionally invested in the characters because it’s just a really clever storytelling and you buy into it without even knowing you’re buying into it! Fantastic job with the writing…
Also, the sound is fantastic… All of the environmental audio really transports you into this world that they’re trying to paint. This game is a feast for the eyes and the ears.
still, I get to a point in the game, right around the race, where I just stop… I kind of lose interest because I have to keep going back and doing this thing that should be relatively easy if the control scheme were better. as a result, I’ve started and then stopped playing this game like six times now and I always stop in about the same spot just because well I really love it and want to see what happens next. It just seems like too much work you guys really need to look at the progression from the race on. I think a lot of people probably stop there and lose interest.
Still, I will keep trying. I will probably stop and restart it five or six more times and eventually I will progress past that point… But I don’t know if you really called that replay ability or just redundant.
graphics and colors 11 out of 10
Audio 10 out of 10
Character development 10 out of 10
Plot 10 out of 10
Playability four out of 10
Somebody message if you notice any update, where they fix the Jenkee controls… just in case I’ve given up again… Thanks
Check points. If you have patience and don't mind doing the same thing over and over then this game is for you. If you don't have patience then I wish you luck lol . These check points are terrible. Especially chapter 4
Nice story driven game. Has a good story. Great voice acting. Nice stylistic graphics. Linear gameplay. Overall a nice experience. Taking off a star because the controls feel clunky. Made some chapters frustrating.
Great. I am still only on the first chapter but you can see the effort and talent put into this. I thought it was maybe a light interactive story but I was wrong and I am so happy I was wrong. This is more of a game and it is fascinating
Technical issues hold it back. Five stars for the creative team, two for the technical team.
The Last Worker is well written and entertaining satire with excellent art direction and voice acting, delivered in a clunky technical package.
The worst technical aspect is the incomplete and misleading tutorial. For example it tells you to grab the virtual control stick. If you follow that instruction, the tutorial will not progress since the grip button locks you into strafe mode.
Early on in the game you’re told to engage the boost mode on cue. Despite clicking down the left thumb stick as instructed, the boost wouldn’t engage. It took many tries to pass this scene and I’m not sure how I got past it. Either the instructions are misleading or it’s a glitch.
This next issue won’t affect everyone. An inconsistent frame rate gives me motion sickness. After six years of using VR on a near daily basis, a poor frame rate is the only thing left that can still give me VR sickness. I can play driving and flying games comfortably for hours at a time, provided they run at a smooth frame rate. Unfortunately The Last Worker’s frame rate frequently hitches, especially in turns, so I have to play it in very short sessions.
If they can clean up the tutorial, fix or eliminate the virtual control stick, and optimize the performance so it runs smoothly, this could be a five star game.
True gem in terms of gameplay & graphics. The graphics of the game and overall design is just the highest league. The gameplay is outstanding and the story is intriguing hard/dystopian sci-fi.
Already looking forward what next this team is working on and if any post release content updates are planned.
Easy recommendation!

Underrated gem. Beautiful narrative experience and fun gameplay where you feel like the wheel chair bound people from WALL-E except it flies!
Good Game held back by bugs. The gameplay loop is a "Papers Please" style game. You have a mundane job to perform while on the clock, and you have to make sure everything is following the rules. But you balance this with story segments interweaved throughout your shift and afterwards.
The gameplay is fun, the aesthetics are good, the voice acting is great, and the character dialogue is funny.
While this game has a lot of spirit, it unfortunately has a lot of bugs. - I have snap turning enabled, but sometimes it changes back to smooth turning - the Jüngle Gun has some weird interactions at times. Either not detecting a hit, or I'll grab a package and it shoves it backwards through a wall where I can't get. Sometimes I have to hold the trigger to hold a package, othertimes I have to tap it instead. - god help you if you try to use the Jüngle Gun while moving. - Interactable objects like levers or puzzle cubes will often clip through your cart, making it near impossible to turn them. But the game doesn't give you a way to move sideways or backwards, resulting in you having to drive in a circle to get a comfortable distance. Usually while you're on the clock. - It seems like every story mission has at least one bug requiring a restart. i.e. A character tells you to the use the boost, but you can't for some reason. A door closes in front of you, trapping you in a hallway while other characters have a conversation on the other side. You need to do a timed puzzle which involves pointing the gun in certain directions but the game won't recognize it for some reason. You need to hide in an obvious open nook that looks just like the others you hide in, except there's an invisible wall so you can't. Etc. - If you fail a story objective during a shift, choosing "Replay Shift" won't reactivate the objective. But "continue story" will!
It's frustrating because when everything works as intended, it's a fun game! But the bugs occur more often than not, which can ruin the experience.
Bad controls. It's clearly a high quality product, unfortunately the game design is pretty much a non-starter. You either use snap turn and have to turn 100 times a minute to navigate the game level properly, or you use smooth turn and end up feeling ill. The locomotion clearly requires a control scheme like echo vr or something similar. Would have been great to see you piloting a kind of zero gravity Segway or something. As it is, the core controls aren't fun and so everything suffers. A more immediate improvement would be, just let me move according to my head orientation.
Glitched my entire headset into oblivion. Yeah, played 20 or so mins and now all of the sudden my prox. sensors are whacked and headset will no longer load. Stuck on black screen with 3 white loading dots. I don’t play physically active games so the headset doesn’t leave the couch. After all, I only have time to enjoy on some days , late in the eve. Not looking for any room scale activities. So I know my headset wasn’t dropped, didn’t fall, no liquid nothing. Coincidence? Why are there still only 9 reviews for past cpl days, 8 five star and 1 two or three star yet the graph only shows the 5 star ratings? Shouldn’t the single lower rating being the overall down even if it’s 4.8 or something?
Also, what’s the deal with seemingly all the 5 star reviews slinging these back door 25% off deals? Why doesn’t meta or dev just do this from the jump? So obvious that it’s one of two things, cohorts of devs (or actual devs),or mischievous wrongdoers. Seems like a shady ordeal possibly slipping virus’s to everyone.
I will update this after more play. The tutorial was super confusing. I couldn't understand why the controls on my vehicle wouldn't work. It took me so long to realize that the controls are just for show, even though my hands can grab them. I have to push buttons on my Oculus controllers in order to move anything. It would be so much more fun if the controls on the vehicle did something.
The game play itself is kind of boring so far, but hopefully it will become more interesting than just finding a box and tossing a box and finding a box and tossing a box.
One of the worst game’s I’ve ever played. The Last Worker is one of the worst games I’ve ever played.
It has a quirky visual style and some good humor. That’s the end of the good parts.
Thematically it was offensive- another weak and unprincipled woke attack on Capitalism and business. Even in a video game someone wants to shove their agenda down your throat.
The gameplay is brutal often requiring a re-do of sections not because it’s hard but because the controls are difficult to use and yet have to be executed flawlessly. So you wind up doing the exact same thing over 10, 20, 30 times mercilessly until you get it exactly right by sheer painful repetition. The best you can hope for is to incrementally work your way from checkpoint to checkpoint until the pain momentarily stops.
Gameplay is sometimes confusing because it isn’t clear what to do or how. The tutorial was pretty useless. Using the weapon effectively can often be frustrating. The movement is clunky and awkward mostly because the game has to allow for the movement of a full-sized hover chair. At times I was being prompted by the in-game characters to follow or “come here” but I couldn’t see where they were. By the end I just wanted it to end, especially when I was trying to remote control my robot buddy via a washed out white-tone television image over and over and over again.
This lacking development is magnified against many other better games available. But hey, what do you expect from a company that openly attacks productive genius and free trade? If you want to suffer for the humor and few good parts don’t pay full price. Otherwise, skip it. I wish I had.
Fun & 25% off. Very funny game, I'm loving it so far. The gameplay is good, your moving items around this huge center. Lots of multitasking skill needed. You have work to get a passing grade and move onto the next shift. It's very comfortable to play sitting. If you need 25% off: vr.miketunes.com/last
