AMAZING..BEAUTIFUL... & FUN!!! WOW!!! As an "older" person (mid 50s lol) who's never played video games, but now in love with vr, I bought this game mostly because of how beautiful it was during the free trial.. and didn't seem like it would be too overwhelming that I'd end up quitting. So, I just started playing this last night, and I'm blown away!! During set up, I (and some others) got stuck on the screen after calibration, where it says to click on this button, and theres no button... you might want to change the instructions to say 'click the menu button on your left/rt controller". There's also another similar spot, where you have to click on the actual sentence, which took a while to figure out.. I know, I know.. I'm a newbie lol So I only in the begining of the game after the 2nd set of monkey bars.. There was nowhere to go, so I jumped in the water to look around & see if there was anything highlighted telling you where to go..and now I'm LOST in the game...literally lost & can't find my way back to where I'm supposed to be LOL I need to STOP swimming around exploring & shooting squid, and just go down & get what I need & go back LOL but I just love swimming around underwater!!! I don't see any kind of map or compass to help find my way back... I was hoping Lucia would check up on me & maybe guide me back, but she went silent. I'm sure I'll figure it out LOL
Side note / idea for developers :) I'd love to have an option to just swim underwater & explore!! Maybe you guys could make another sim type of game?! I'd buy it immediately!!! Just a relaxing multiplayer game where you can swim around like this game, exploring a tropical ocean, an underwater gun for protection against whatever may be lurking, maybe an island to explore, shoot some bad guys or whatever for some excitement..a poolboy to bring you drinks lol.. I know the hard-core gamers are rolling their eyes, but every female I know in Horizon Worlds (& a few guys too lol) said they'd buy a game like that in a heartbeat! I've got some great ideas!! No talent to actually MAKE a game lol but lots of great ideas for them lol
Gamertag is full of himself. Don’t listen to his Clickbait bullspit about this being the worst port of the year! I just had the best two hours I have had inquest since red matter 2. , And I’m only a little ways through the game.
If you’re not already used to PCVR level graphics you will be blown away by this game just like I was. People who look down their noses at it because it is not As graphically amazing as of 4090 or whatever… Those people are just living in their own echo chamber listening to their own voice. I haven’t seen anything remotely this cool since red matter 2. Don’t fall for the Clickbait! Try it yourself and unsubscribe from that Arrogant hater If he doesn’t change that horrible thumbnail! “ worst port this year” -Absolutely false obviously has an ax to grind about something. The game is great fun for a quest user and I’m really glad that they brought it to quest.
I’m nobody I don’t have a big viewership I don’t even have a channel but I know nonsense when I see it. SMH
Great adventure. This game is really cool. If you were a fan of Star Wars Tales of the galaxy edge you will like this. More mature than that game but just as cool. All the mechanics work great including swimming. Has a decent story and look forward to a sequel or prequel.
I played it once on quest2 and started it again when I seen the Quest 3 update dropped and it is absolutely stunning on Q3. It looks awesome on Q2 also. Probably one of the best looking games outside of Red Matter 2. I definitely recommend this 💎.
Immersive with adrenaline explosion. I finished hubris last night. What a ride!!! Hubris is my first VR shooting action game, and it was so awesome. Graphic is undeniably fantastic, it seems like REAL alien planet. Gathering aspect for energy/gun is quite interesting, and it made me explore there entirely. Killing mines/drones/Uron soldiers/turrets/squids was little bit difficult, but I somehow did it. Music is so intense, and it helps me to play Hubris more and more.
And website says, Hubris is ‘The start of a new full blown space saga.’ so I’ll wait for expansion DLC or sequel.
I highly recommend this for beginners of VR shooting action game. Hubris will be good starting point.
Great Sci-fi game. I really enjoyed this one. The graphics are extremely decent on Quest 2. I loved the variety of movements that it offers - especially swimming, it feels absolutely awesome. There is also a variety in the gameplay, it is mostly a shooter but there is also a slight puzzler aspect and also you have to find the best route to go from A to B. There are also some other types of things that you get to do, for example using a medical device to heal another character, which feels nice. Your weapons evolve nicely during the game, at least if you are thorough in your scavenging, and it is satisfying. The story is nice as well, although I felt that there was a sort of underlying lore that is not fully developped. It is also decently long for a VR game of this quality. All in all, great quality and great value for money.
Fantastic. This game was an absolute pleasure to experience. The visuals, different environments, and great story line make this game unique as far as my VR experience is concerned.
Just want to thank the Developers for this title. I patiently await any projects that you are working on.
Freaking Amazing! I absolutely loved this game. It literally filled a fantasy of mine I have had for 20 years. Ever since I first played Halo: Combat Evolved, I had ALWAYS wanted to be inside of the game. I wanted to be in the Halo world, and this made me feel like I was! There are many similarities, but there are enough differences to make it very unique as well.
The game looks gorgeous. The only issue I had with it was that the enemy AI can be very dumb at times. It seems that no matter the difficulty level, there can be enemies that will just stand there without shooting. I am new to VR on oculus 2, so I am beginning to think that the AI suffers on the more in the more detailed games due to the limitations of the system. I'm not sure, but that is just my impression.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience. Great mix of exploring and action. You can get lost in the beauty of the environment. It's totally worth the money. I'm planning to replay once I finish another game. I'm not big on multi-player games, so this was a fantastic single-player experience. Really hoping there is a sequel coming.
A fun game. I really enjoy playing this game. It is a pretty incredible game with some amazing graphics. The game is also pretty challenging (which I appreciate, some of the easier games are too easy and only fun for a short time). If you are on the fence you should go ahead and buy it.
Great Game. This game was very fun and addicting. I played through it and two sittings because I had an auxiliary battery pack. The graphics are amazing the plot and storyline are fantastic. The physics are on point especially for the swimming portions. I love the upgrade ability of the weapon used. I highly recommend this game if you love adventure type first person shooter games.
Fun at first…. I enjoyed the first 30 minutes of this game. Beautiful world, graphics, and the swimming mechanics are so cool. And walking around in this futuristic halo-esque world felt like such a novelty.
But the gameplay very quickly gets old, with an un-engaging storyline, terrible voice acting, and very rote fight mechanics. I soon found that I didn’t care about the storyline (what storyline), the lack of character development, and there’s no motivation to kill the very two-dimensional enemies—they silently pop out of nowhere and shoot at you, and after you shoot them they just disappear. Even the weapon upgrade system felt uninspired and boring. I quickly found that I didn’t care to see what happens next, and i kind of had to force myself to finish the game. The game had fantastic potential but I think fell short.
Exploring the Highs and Lows of Hubris. **Positives**
- "Hubris" is visually impressive, particularly on Quest 2. It delivers a beautiful environment that enhances the gaming experience. - The game offers a variety of mechanics and activities that keep things interesting. - The exploration aspect of the game is engaging and well-executed, making it a standout feature. Swimming is a neat feature and some of the underwater environment interactions are satisfyng (like grabbing handles). -I do like that it usually grabs the right item as needed without much effort. -Enjoy touching through the UI system and the way you can load in in the beginningnhy getting into the pods (and Hubris has a few nice elements like this) -Puzzle like gameplay isn't super challenging but are appreciated.
**Negatives**
- The enemy engagements are lackluster. The game would benefit from quality over quantity approach with the enemies, forcing players to think and strategize more. The squids could definitely use some improvement. - The narrative isn't convincing. As a recruit, it doesn't make sense that you're able to take down so many enemies, especially when more experienced members couldn't. - The UI interface can be confusing and it's easy to make mistakes when navigating through it. Basically you can click on the wrong thing really easily which can be frustrating at times. - The game's materials making system, though interesting, has limited function. It would be better if it offered more than just weapon upgrades. - The inventory management system is slightly tedious and could be improved. Also being able to pull more than one item at a time would be a nice change. - The characters and storyline need further development for a deeper, more immersive experience. The decision to have a recruit undertake all the missions seems unconvincing. - Gunplay is decent but could be improved by allowing manual reload and weapon grip functionality.
**Overall**
"Hubris" is a technically impressive game that delivers on visuals, but its gameplay and narrative fail to reach the same level. While it provides an array of mechanics and an enjoyable exploration experience, it falls short in terms of enemy engagement, and movement mechanics. The storyline and characters are underdeveloped, detracting from the overall immersion. Despite these drawbacks, the game's visual achievements and potential give it a 4 out of 5. There's a lot to appreciate about "Hubris," but also plenty of room for improvement.

Not terrible isn't good. I was hesitant to write this because of my limited experience with VR. After spending some time with a few games, I'm ready. The most disappointing thing about this game is the number of 5 star reviews, it's almost cult like. It doesn't bode well for us as consumers to sing the praises of a sub par game, the marketplace suffers. The game is an extended tutorial passed on as a full game. The moment you think you're about to start playing, the credits roll and it's not a joke. It gives really bad Shadow of the Empire vibes as it has a ton of features that are not perfected. So it does a bunch of stuff but is bad at it all of it. Climbing is buggy because they didn't account for the fact that you should weigh something. Swimming is broken because they disable standard movement. You use the stick to walk, why use my hands to swim suddenly, that's not actually intuitive, it's jarring. The combat is okay, but the enemy AI is non existent. I played Creed and Until You Fall amongst others, Hubris was the only game I've played to not properly sync my movements, no matter how many times I calibrated. My arms wouldn't bend at the elbows, only game in my library to function like that. I want to like this game, it shows a lot of promise, but it should be a free beta still. If the makers can't afford to keep going then tough, they shouldn't be allowed to rob people and their users shouldn't be coming off like co-conspirators. Players deserve better.
An absolute marvel on the Quest 2. This game is absolutely stunning on the Quest 2. One of the best Sci-Fi adventure games in all of VR. This game has a great mix of stunning visuals, cool story, great level design, challenging gunplay, and awesome adventure. This amazing game that's been out on PCVR for awhile finally makes its way to Quest, and it's an absolute marvel that they were able to get this game in there. This is what VR is all about, a must buy.
Absolute BLAST game!! This is the experience I’ve been waiting on for quite a while!🔥 Absolutely amazing graphics and gameplay, you can swim, climb, shoot, upgrade etc. It’s an excellent and interesting story based experience on another planet with well done and balanced variety of game mechanics.
Bravo authors!👏 Excellent work!👍
P.S. please add by chance arms bending and rotation.
True gem worth every penny! All small parts are there - outstanding graphics, great mechanics, upgraded weapons, long campaign, climbing, swimming, jumping ( with slightly lower gravity ). There is also crossbuy so buying Quest version we receive also PCVR.
Wish the team makes the sequel or add story DLC.
Still can't believe it is running on a mobile chip. Next to Red Matter 2 best graphics on Quest 2.
Solid game. Solid game! Never mind the negative reviews. Especially the ones that say they just started playing this game or have played for 30 minutes ect. I really don’t see the point of giving limited feedback on a game that you haven’t given chance or have very little time playing. The game looks great the environments are really nice and the the gameplay is good with a couple exceptions but nothing major at all. Overall the game feels good and those couple small exceptions im sure will be cleaned up by the first update. The game take about 30-45 minutes to really develop once it does it’s a fun game. If you liked Star Wars galaxies edge then you will definitely enjoy this one.
Updated Review.
Just finished this game. It is amazing!! One of the best games on the quest. I can honestly say I would never consider or watch a gamertag review after his review on this game. It was a all around amazing experience. Some of these bad reviews are baffling. Looks great plays great and the whole progression was a lot of fun. They did a excellent job with the environments and level design. I really hope they expand on this game.
Wow 😊. Hit me up for a code :-) Visit |_inktr.ee gaving7095
Where to start? So far I’m amazed by this game. The graphics are close to if not THE best I’ve seen on Quest. But it is the control and overall experience which impresses me more. It’s a bit physical at points & features a lot of running, jumping & climbing which traditionally don’t fair all that well in VR (I loved Bonelab overall for example but the climbing was frustrating, often). But they have done something with Hubris which makes you feel like you really do have a powered super suit on (as you do in the game 😊) - which in I’m opinion is exactly what VR games should be doing: World-building then putting you right in the middle of it.
The combat is fun so far. There may be a bit of aim assist going on because I was hitting targets with ease, I’ll not complain- it felt fun & empowering & really helped with immersion.
I’ve looked through the other reviews and it’s a mixed bag isn’t it? Some of them almost leave me wondering if they’re fit a different game 😂 But why not support the dev’s and buy this? I doubt anybody would argue that clearly a lot of work has gone into it. Also Oculus has an excellent refund policy (Google it) if you hate it & want your money back.
It’s Pretty But Dull.. Hubris is visually appealing, easily in the top tier of graphically splendid Quest titles, but is marred by poor climbing mechanics, a frustrating and useless crafting system, uninspired gunplay, and a flimsy narrative populated by a trio of dull characters.
It’s a shame, really, because - on paper - Hubris is all you could ask for from a sci-fi action adventure in VR; great graphics, decent audio, great art direction, and a good variety of gameplay mechanics, it just fails at the single most important game metric; it’s not fun.

Part of my script:
This has been really hard for me to review because in one hand I’m impressed that I can play hubris on a Quest 2. Infact it’s hard not to be impressed, but it’s also very obviously been stripped back. Shadows, reflections, resolution and frame appears to be 72 but that shouldn’t impact the gameplay because after all, gameplay is the most important factor BUT Hubris isn’t an amazing game. In fact it’s pretty average gameplay wise. I’m not saying it isn’t fun, it is, but it’s got 4-5 hours gameplay for newcomers and doesn’t really do anything new, so the presentation was always the thing that tipped the needle towards being something special or at least interesting in VR and without the graphics to carry it you’re left with a pretty average game but the graphics aren’t the worst bit. The measures put in place by the developers to combat loss of performance made me feel uncomfortable and it only in really happens in fast motion. Your arms are constantly surrounded by an almost clear wavey effect and it distorts anything your arms wave in front of. Now you can push through this but there also something happening to far other edges on Quest. It’s very small extreme foveated rendering and in combination I found it pretty discomforting and I never feel nauseous in VR. I then tested the game on Quest Pro and it’s much better which put me in a weird spot. I mean how many of you even own a pro for gaming? So anyway on with the gameplay…
