The Shock Troops are sent anywhere in the Galaxy where a problem needs to be solved with extreme prejudice. Players will shoot their way through an epic interstellar adventure and uncover a dark conspiracy to end mankind.
Inspired by classics such as Doom and Quake, Shock Troops visual features include pixel-art textures and a mix of 3D environments and 2D sprites, seamlessly blending classic style with modern lighting.
Shock Troops gameplay aims at preserving the high-octane physicality of the classic shooters. Players will dodge incoming projectiles while responding in kind with a varied arsenal with various effects, at range, or in melee, with some impressive weapons or special powers.
You will be fighting your way through derelict space stations, frozen colonies, mining asteroids, large military spaceships, and lush alien planets. Each of these worlds will feature large “open” areas, set-pieces and theater of epic firefights. [includes the "Ghost of the Lone Whale" Halloween special]
Retro-style FPS: Fun & Nostalgic! (🌟 25% off referral code below 🌟)
This retro-style first-person shooter game completely blew me away. As soon as I fired up the game, I was transported back in time to the golden age of FPS games. The pixelated graphics were spot on and really captured the nostalgic feel of the classic Doom games. I can't explain why but there is some magic in pixelated art style, having less details, it leaves just the right amount of room to fill the gaps with your imagination.
The gameplay is everything I had hoped for in a retro FPS game. The guns are fun to use and had a real sense of weight and impact behind them. Each weapon felt unique and had its own strengths and weaknesses, making the game feel balanced and satisfying.
One of the things that really stood out to me about this game was the sound design. The guns sounded amazing and the music is immersive, perfectly setting the tone for the game.
Overall, I can't recommend this game enough to fans of retro FPS games. It's a perfect mix of classic gameplay and modern design sensibilities. If you're looking for a game that will give you a serious dose of nostalgia while also being a blast to play, then this is the game for you.
steal at 10. this is like classic doom but in vr sound graphics everything top notch. I would wonder what this team would make for a 20 30 dollar game because at 10 this outdoes most of the current store and probably the best thing on oculus store at 10 or less. Yes oculus, meta sounds terrible lol.
Nice! sorry for my english I have to recommend this game. it's old school stuff. You are always solving an area. sometimes you collect something and other times you fasten it again. In this, enemies are coming after you slowly but uncompromisingly and you have to avoid them smartly. Super old graphics. great gunplay.
Hail to the king, baby! Wow garage collective. I'm back in my youth playing Duke nukem in VR. I see what you were going for with this. The old school pixelated look, the weapons, the switch between open zones to tight narrow corridors, the pulsing music. Decent difficulty(i played it on harder I'm an original gamer) not the soft touch generation who've given you a 1 star review because 'it's too hard', or cry when they get a paper cut.
Awesome work
Bring me more!!!!!
I'd love to get involved with anything else you might be planning.
Any testing, early reviews you need because I think what you did is first class.
Great Haptics Integration. If you're looking for a Quest 2 title to test out your bHaptics and/or ProTube haptic gear, this is the one. It has native integration for both companies, and there is nothing better than feeling recoil and damage during the missions of this game. Well worth the cost of admission!
Great Retro FPS. As soon as you enter the game you are taken back in time with the pixel art style graphics in the main menu and once you start a mission that's when the frantic action begins dodging in coming fire and shooting back with a range of unlockable weapons. This a must for those who like old school arcade FPS. Gameplay video here 👇 https://www.youtube.com/@DaveDoesVR

Very well done game. Sorry for bad English I'm German so yes
Music: very well composed music it makes it feel more action packed
Gameplay: it's very good and smooth love the special abilities
Replayability: I keep coming back so thats good
Issues: enemies sometimes faze through walls and when I put my gun up it sometimes doesn't reload
All in all a very good game underrated game as well
Not up my alley. For me personally, I rate it 1 Star, but after reading so many positive reviews, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s probably just me. No hard feelings.
Update: unfortunately no, I missed the deadline for returns. It’s not a big deal though. I’ll come back in a few months to give it another try. Appreciate the kind response.
Update 2: I’ll gladly give this another try when the Halloween update comes out. Appreciate your understanding
Update 3: not sure where all the developer responses went…anyone who reads this: the developer has been overly gracious in discussing and replying to my original review. While this may not be my particular brand of tea, you couldn’t ask for more from the service side. That’s how you know they LOVE what they do, and they clearly DO. Looking forward to firing up my headset to give it another try. Been waiting on the Halloween update.
Simple, accessible and fun shooter. The developers have done a great job of creating a retro yet modern atmosphere in this game, in a simple, accessible but sometimes challenging shooter that should appeal to a wide audience.
The environments and enemies provide enough variety to keep things interesting and challenging over the course of the campaign. I also love the digital companion who provides information over comms as each mission progresses. The voice is convincing and perfectly punctuated to make it sound like your only available ally, yet not a human one, again reminding me of elements in my favourite sci-fi movies such as Alien (mother).
The need to be careful and tactical at times, as well as going all-guns-blazing when the need arises, is very reminiscent of the original Doom and Wolfenstein games and the graphic style complements that mood perfectly.
The game is very playable and most importantly it's really good fun.
The only fault I have with the game is the ammo counter on the automatic rifle seems to be permanently stuck on 27 and never reduces when firing, hence I have no idea when a reload is due until I run out. It seems to be a bug and it would be great if the developers could fix that.
Simple but efficient. I've got so much game on my Quest2 and i Can say this game is really well done. At first, i didn't buy it because of the flight 2D ennemis but what a surprise ! It's so cool and satisfy fast shooter. The mix of rétro and modern style is well done. Lot of action... And the Price is so low, buy it This game deserves more attention
Old school "Doom"est game. If your over 30 your love this game, takes you back to strafting round corners to avoid a barrage of bullets, Graphics are old school flat pixel'ISH , The game is fun, exciting and you can easily get lost in time spent playing.
Love it ,but please update graphics on guns and radar, Also upgrades required for guns ,buying like extra sight or barrel to make the gun have more HPs.
Best $10 I even spent on a game. Great retro shooter gameplay. Feels like 2.5D Doom enemies in a 3D Quake environment but with an Aliens type vibe. The enemies are flat sprites and the environments are pretty detailed but both have low res. textures. It looks pretty cool and feels retro. The sound is great with a lot of ominous ambient sounds invoking a nice feeling of dread that again, reminded me of Alien. And the voice acting for the AI companion is pretty good and helps to balance out that feeling of dread. The gameplay definitely feels retro with a lot of circle strafing and color key collecting. The weapons are pretty varied and are introduced at a good pace as are the enemies. The campaign is a good length for a ten dollar game. There are five locations and each is broken down into four maps so a total of twenty maps that are about the same length as an old Doom map. It took about three sessions for me to finish so about 3-4 hours on the normal difficulty. There are a couple of annoying things. Like the check points don't work if you exit the game. If you die during a run you will respawn at the last checkpoint you unlocked but if you exit the game you will restart at the beginning of the map and not at the last unlocked checkpoint. So if you quit toward the end of a map you will have to replay it next time you start the game. But they are not that long. Another annoyance is the habit of putting enemies right on the other side of doors. So you walk up to a door to open it and immediately get blasted by 3-4 enemies on the other side. You learn to expect it because it happens so much but it still feels like a cheap ambush. And sometimes the enemies can see and shoot through the doors and walls. But that didn't happen often. But again this is a $10 dollar game so I'm really being nit picky to complain about anything. Overall I had a lot of fun and I'm sure I will play it again down the road.
I’ve been waiting for this. I usually decide if I’m going to buy a game according to the lower reviews. So for starters, there IS a left hand option. It’s under settings and is called “handness” which I think is weird, funny, and not hard to understand considering the two options are Left and Right.
The game though is like Doom. It’s pixelated wonderfully and feels smooth. I only finished the first level so I don’t know how it’ll go, but it’s promising. I’d imagine more variation of enemies (like only one type of enemy during the first level) as the game progresses. I don’t know, we’ll see. But I will say this is the only game on the oculus and sidequest that I’ve seen doing it old school.
OK. So the game started it out fun but got repetitive quick. And there hasnt been an update for a while. Will give 5 stars if u can use left hand for gripping gun. It's very immersion breaking not being able to use the left hand. Gun upgrades or a sense of progression to make the game more engaging. Edit: ok fair enough lol. Thanks for taking the time to respond so thoroughly. 5 stars for caring.
Loving this game. So, I never buy 10 dollar games! I just don't! I own many titles. I love vr. I saw the YT reviews the day before launch and I was excited. I went in with mediocre expectations. What I got was a great game. The pixel style, the music, the 3d environments with 2d enemies. I'm loving this game. It's not terribly easy, there are boss fights and I'm having a blast killing everything in my sights. Its way more than I bargained for. At 10 bucks it's a steal. Honestly, for the price you have no excuse. Just buy this darn game. Great work, devs. You can take my money anytime!
I don't write many reviews but... First of all I want to start by telling everyone to buy this game. It is great! I love a shooter that makes you feel like you are in control of the action and not having to hide and be afraid of what's around the next corner. In this game you are the hero and can fight an army of enemies without having to hold back. For someone my age who grew up playing Duke Nukem, Doom, and Quake on PC, it's awesome to find a game where it feels like a call back to those times and you can be in there like we all imagined as kids. It is not perfect but it's not far from it. The arcade feeling of run and gun non-stop action is better than any of the other vr games in the same category. Not to mention the price is more than fair. I hope developers update and continue to improve the experience. Graphics, music and sound effects are perfect, I hope it doesn't change anything in the regard. The boss fight I had was awesome and I look forward to the future battles ahead. I would like to see more guns and power ups a little more frequently. I played for an hour and beat a level, almost w levels and saw nothing new to use which was a disappointment. Other than that my only other gripe is the firing frequency of the basic drone enemies is too high. It feels like the most common enemy you face is the deadliest one, which was frustrating. In closing to anyone who reads this, buy this game. It's a lot of fun.

AMAZING PIXEL ART AND DOOM FPS GAMEPLAY. 🚨NEW GAMEPLAY VIDEO FEATURING THE AWESOME FLAME THROWER! Search ‘GAMERTAG VR’
I featured this game quite some time ago. Played through level one on the channel and have been in close contact from the dev. This guy has made Theta legion and Stones of Harlath so you know what to expect with the graphic style and personally I think pixel art mixed with 3D geometry levels work so well in VR
Great shooter. Flamethrower doesn't work. Love the graphic stylings. This is a fun shooter and an absolute bargain. The sound FX and music fit the game perfectly.
Hope this game gets updated constantly. Fingers crossed for a Horde mode.
If you find the flamethrower doesn't fire even if you have lots of ammo, you will need to come out of the game completely and restart.
Are these devs trolling other devs?. I seriously think these devs are trolling other developers!! .. these guys made one of , if not the best fps on the quest !! It has a campaign , great graphics, great immersion, great gameplay , a good checkpoint system , 3 difficulty settings , and they are only charging $10!!? .. I've bought games that are tripled that price ! And are not even close to being this good!! These guys have put every developer on notice! , Because this is how you make a first person shooter , which is my favorite genre! We really need more shooters with a campaign because I get so tired of multiplayer shooters flooding the quest . This game is well worth the 5 stars that I'm giving it ,and I don't give out 5 stars very often , I'm very picky ! If you like shooters there is no reason not to pick this game up ! You can tell that this developer is a gamer first ! I have well over 50 games on the quest and this is easily one of my top 10! Great job guys 👍🏾
