The multiverse is in danger! Take control of your space combat ship, fight the Nazi Galactic Empire and relive the thrills of classic scrolling shooters in a unique retro Virtual Reality experience.
THE ULTIMATE SPACE COMBAT SIMULATION Paying homage to classic side-scrolling shooters, “2076: Midway Multiverse” offers the ultimate space combat simulation experience. Take command of your starship and fight waves of enemies that will -literally- attack you from every possible angle. Get the most out of your Virtual Reality device and explore the remotest sites of the multiverse as you try to free the galaxy from the tyranny of the Nazi Galactic Empire.
Perfection. What Ivanovich Games delivers here is the absolute crowning glory. Operation Warcade had already impressed me and Beat Blaster is also a great experience, but 2076 Midway Multiverse plays even more with the perspectives and opens up completely different dimensions for me as a shooter fan. The expanded 2D shmup environment paired with game elements from a strafox/space harrier and even a real futuristic flight sim blew my mind at first and still puts a big grin on my face that I can hardly ever stop playing it. There is also a great high score hunt, trashy but funny story with great movie anecdotes, great effects, a long gaming experience and non-stop action. Hopefully there will be another discount campaign soon!
They have significantly increased performance and resolution on Quest 3. It really is phenomenal and it appears that my complaints about the motion controls are no longer valid as those sections have been removed. I'm really impressed that they've continued to update this underrated gem and the Quest 3 performance really is impressive. Five stars now!
Original review:
I love this game. I've been a fan of this developer for years as they release reimaginings of classic arcade games. This is no exception.
I do have some complaints after buying the full game. I'm playing on Quest 2 so I can imagine the performance is even worse on the first one but it has some serious performance issues in Hell, the Green Zone, and a few hiccups in the Medieval themed area. They all look incredible but I thought they used ASW (not available on Quest 1 I believe) but it still goes well below 72 fps. I'm assuming the real frame rate here and there must dive below 36 fps or ASW isn't working properly.
My other complaint is that the puzzle blocks often require a lot of pulling down. Like from my couch to the floor level of pulling down.
The great parts of this game are the humor, visuals, awesome view shifts, and I love the cockpit mode in the immersion zones.
The price is good and I think there is enough content to purchase especially if you liked 1976 which is also excellent and performs better but isn't as ambitious.
If they can fix performance this game belongs in the main store alongside some of their other titles.
This game rocks!!! Seeing this game for the first time was amazing. I can't wait for full game, easily the best demo on quest 2 in my opinion. Good luck with game and let me know when so i can buy on day one. Has some great Mixed Reality as well......Please Developers needs an update for Quest 3
Buy it if... Finally something like R Type, Katakis.... In VR. If you love those oldschool Shmups, like I do, this is a mußte buy. On Quest 3 the graphics are amazing and the gameplay is pure fun. I have been dreaming of something like this for so long and now it is real, I still can't believe it.
A big thank you to the devs!!!
My wish for Christmas: More levels for 2076 and games like Cybernoid or Blood Money in VR. Dear devs, I hope you hear me!🤗

Da best. What a great game. Love everthing . Waiting for the second part.
Great game. Where can I buy the rest of the game because I can’t find it on the app and it only lets me into level one before level 2 a trailer plays but so far I love the game play and I would recommend it
Why the bad reviews?. This game is the classic midway shooter. Looks good, plays good! Yes it has a wonky mechanic but nothing you cannot get used to. For free the games is a must!
Horrible controls + it's just a DEMO. Like the headline says, the controls are all over the place. I'm sure the control schemes etc looked good on paper, but don't Ivanovich games have any actual gametesters to give them feedback? Because these controls are just weird, convoluted and generally a hot mess. I played the tutorial and the first two levels and decided that I didn't even want to continue in the super easy Joyride mode because it just wasn't worth my time. That says a LOT about how this game plays in reality. It's uninstalled now. Then I find that it's only the first three levels and after that you have to pay to continue playing. This is just a demo! That is not mentioned anywhere, so this is technically a form of scam. It should clearly state that it's a DEMO consisting of the first three levels. How is this even allowed to be listed on App Lab in its current form?
2076 Midway Multiverseは、1976 - Back to Midwayの後に続いています。
Retro Gaming In A VR World. 2076 Midway Multiverse is yet another hit from Ivanovich Games. They took another classic retro arcade game and made it into an amazing VR experience. This time its the classic side scrolling shooter game, like Super R-Type. With Ivanovich Games special VR immersions, making it a must play VR experience.
2076 Midway Multiverse continues where 1976 - Back to Midway leaves off. New story, new mode of play, new experience. Like their other games, this one does not disappoint. You will have those wow moments all over again. The story is good, the gameplay is spot on, and the VR world is mind blowing.
Like 1976 - Back to Midway, the game offers multiple VR immersion modes, and the workshop to upgrade your ship. The side scrolling aspect of this game is just brilliant. You will have all the classic fun of the retro games, but feel like you are inside the arcade machine. The world and effects will take your breath away. With three different difficulty levels, you can play a nice relaxing game, or go for the hardcore retro gameplay. Which ever you pick, you are in for a blast from the past in some of the best VR gameplay I have played.
If you are a fan of the retro side scrolling space shooters, looking for next level VR experiences, this game is a must play. There are plenty of levels, achievements, and upgrades to keep you playing over and over again. The action feels great, and the worlds will just blow you away.

Bad game. The game was free but I still feel I paid too much.
Bug on oculus quest. I wanted to test midway out I went to play it just was a black screen then restarted it did same thing again didn't understand how to fix it
Update super bugs. I've had this demo since its first release, and I've always given it five stars! But what is the purpose of this latest update? maybe to completely buggy the demo so as to get players to buy the full game in hopes that it won't be as buggy as this demo and instead be as smooth as the demo version before this one? let me understand why you released this update that the only thing it brought is a lot of bugs and shortcomings where there were good things .... either fix everything or give me the old demo back, or get One star!
or reading the unfair reviews of the previous version, maybe this update is the revenge of the developers! since they had given you a free, innovative, varied and fun demo, with many new gameplay features and you preferred to spit at the game rather than thank you, now you get an update full of bugs!
... only that I have always given five stars! I was no longer enjoying this demo but I was happy to have it! please developers could you give me access to the demo version you just replaced with this one? can i contact you by email?
As a game its Fantastic...But. Ok, this is an awesome game with a Modern VR take on classic Retro arcade games. It comes across far more visually stunning than a lot of Quest games and feels polished too. However, there are some issues.
1. Player position when switching between modes and with regard to intractables. When you are in the cockpit it places you too far forward, so to grab the joystick is like grabbing my manhood that's how close it puts the controls to your body. Considering this is a title that would be good to play seated that's a big problem. Also you have to interact with various objects and they are right next to your face at some points. Just not ideal. 2. At some points it gets you to choose controls but you just need to touch them to select them and again it places them so dam close to you if you hold your hands in front of you while playing it auto-selects just by appearing on your hand giving you no time to read what it's explaining. I do think the dev needs to place the player a little further back to the action in some modes it would solve some of this.
Also when you used a life/heart you drop and lose any coins you have collected. meaning if you lose a heart at the end of a round you lose everything. Would love to see again a more retro approach where it may give you some time to collect some of them back. thinking of like sonic days.
Other than some of these complaints its a really solid game the devs have done a great Job.

Retro meets VR in fine style! 2076 Midway Multiverse is a direct sequel to 1976 Return to Midway, and it is an improvement in every way. 1976 was done very well, but Ivanovich Games once again prove their passion and dedication to recreating the classics in VR. With great visuals, great music and intuitive, creative, unique gameplay mechanics coupled with great VR implementation, this one gets two thumbs up. 👍🏾👍🏾 Here’s the video review https://youtu.be/plY70qI2fSo
Loved the intro but…. As a quest 1 owner the game crashes every time I try to play level 0 either in story mode or arcade mode and brings me back to quest home.
Edit: Please tell meta to change platform information because it states it is available for quest and quest 2 platforms on oculus store app.
