Only bad point is getting seasick. Have had to build up from 10 minutes and for the first few multi player battles I had to drop out as I thought i was going to be sick. But thats not the games fault, thats vr and my head, but just a heads up that you might get a bit 🤮

25% OFF Best VR Flying Game ❗️👇. This game is actually so cool and makes you feel as if you are truly flying a warplane. The graphics and controls are superb, along with great missions & multiplayer! This game is a must try.
Please read. Now the comfort is un rated, BUT I'm a very hardened vr player I've gotten motion sick twice in 2 years. One of those times was with this game it amazing they've tried to make it a good comfort level, just warning try (if you do buy this) don't do barrel rolls it's cool but made me slightly sick
An Easy Decision. I had the demo for the WW1 predecessor to this. Honestly, the demo was a little TOO good. I found that the couple of missions included in the demo were more than enough to scratch the occasional itch to put on my headset and fly. The prospect of flying some WW2 planes(and the lack of a free demo)was enough to get me to go ahead and buy this. It feels like an upgrade to it's predecessor in every way, which makes sense of course given the advancements in flight technology that occurred between WW1 and WW2. I really hope the devs continue down the timeline, and give us some Korean War or Vietnam era missions in the next iteration. It would be really cool to fly a chopper mission over the Vietnamese jungle. Thanks devs. Great job on the game!
EDIT:And now I hear you're working on a helicopter game?!?!
Needs rear view mirrors. 5 star game. Great multiplayers who play and it has players who pack a session. Everyone is nice and to finally see a game thats not toxic makes it a much better immersive experience. Beware though some players are real good and it could become discouraging.
To the devs; Please add update for rear view mirrors please by god if i had a wish for just not myself but practically every flying junkie playing today.
Top gun: ME (referral below). Fantastic game. I purchased this masterpiece when it was still in app lab but couldn’t grasp controls so I refunded and went on with life. But when I saw the positive reviews I decided to give it a shot. Boy was it worth it.
Lady’s and gentleman buckle up and “do a barrel roll!” It’s time to be a WW2 pilot. I swear when these people make warplanes: stealth bomber or something there going to be rich. The controls are really nice, but granted I use my hands not the thumb sticks, feels like the inside of a cockpit for real. At first it looks complicated but once you figure it out it feels so cool to do same insane trick and win the level. Buy this right now. For all that is nerdy in vr just but this game!
Great game, but more of the same . I’ve played long enough now that I feel like I can write an accurate review. I love WWI and there are definitely improvements. The graphics engine is basically the same, but the textures look much cleaner. Visually, it’s a big improvement.
This one does have more of a learning curve than the first, but if you’ve played simulators before you’ll still pick up on the nuances quickly.
I read a review about nausea and I’ve experienced that myself, but I was under the weather at the time. I don’t blame the game for that. If you have experience again in simulators, you may get lost at times, but you understand that gravity is always down, if that make sense.
They put a bandaid on a big complaint I had with WWI. Allies no longer target ground targets which are often the primary objectives. If that were the case, you had better be flying the only bomber in your squad or you had next to no chance destroying all enemies because it still ends immediately once the primary objective is complete. I would have rather been given an option to return home whenever I choose. I can barely get my victory barrel roll in before it ends.
The radio chatter I really like, but it makes you feel like you’re constantly in a tutorial. I couldn’t handle that so I turned the volume off. That setting does NOT effect multiplayer.
I assume there will later be a campaign option for Axis forces as before, but currently you can add some “stollen planes” to your squad, so that was much welcomed.
Rudder is everything in this to be successful. Probably the hardest thing to get used to since I almost never used it in the previous. I still think the AI is cheating when bullets are flying at me while they’re facing a different direction or they pull an impossible maneuver for the (I just call them Aces) plane they’re in. That can be frustrating, but predictable. They did fix the “hovering” bug from WWI as far as I can tell. At the very least I haven’t run into it yet. (If you aren’t familiar there was a certain way you could invert certain planes to the point where you’d lose enough airspeed to stall out, but as long as the throttle was engaged, you’d just hover without being able to do anything or losing altitude. You’d just float where you were and not be able to do anything until the throttle was cut.)
I love this game though. For a sitting game, it works up quite the sweat, constantly looking over your shoulder and all around you. Just a few future updates like I’ve mentioned and this is an easy 5/5.
PS: you will want to reset your position each time. This isn’t a bug, but you will shift slightly between missions and it would surprise you how often that becomes an issue. For me it’s usually the throttle, but sometimes I turn and my head is outside the cockpit. Just a tip.
Immersive flight combat experience. About me: I am a middle-aged man who has played combat flight simulators since Ace of Aces and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe. I am new to VR having purchased the Meta Quest 2 last week. This is my 1st purchase and 3rd title (after Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4). Fantasizing about a VR flight combat sim actually is what pushed me into buying this device.
I have completed the first 2 training missions and unlocked the F4U Corsair (my favorite plane ever).
The good: easy to jump into with minimum experience needed to have fun. The immersion is amazing. You can learn the layout of all the buttons on the joysticks... or grab the throttle and yoke and flap controls. Dogfighting is amazing when you have one hand on the throttle and the other on the yoke... where did the bogie go? Look up! Behind you! I can't get over how great this is. Need to lower t he landing gear? Grab the nob that says "landing gear". Is landing on a carrier really this easy? Is it because controls are really intuitive when you can touch them? Or is it overly simplified? I'll never know.
The bad: looking around in the cockpit is great, but when you roll (you do this often), you get visual feedback to the roll but your brain doesn't register the movement, resulting in motion sickness. I can only play 1 mission at a time and it takes me hours to feel right again. But worth it! Also, the flight mechanics and combat are overly simplistic. Shooting enemies is too easy, where it seems like you only need to get close and will register a hit. Wind and sea movement haven't presented themselves. This likely results in a more fun experience but sacrifices realism. Admittedly, I haven't tried messing with settings so it may be possible to get a more real feel.
Overall, I can't explain how amazing it feels to sit in a cockpit, grab the throttle with one hand and the yoke with the other, and engage in Arial combat. This game alone made the purchase of the Meta Quest 2 worth it.
Really fun And Veteren Dad loved. I recently got this game to try out and it was the best game I have ever played the levels are hard but they have things to help you I finally was able to get used to it and it is amazing my dad who was a former Air Force pilot loved it it’s really fun and recommended trying it
skeptical at first but def worth it! Not really knowing if I should try this game I said why the hell not, it was on sale anyways.
Doing so was definitely worth it. The content in this game was pretty loaded and felt really rewarding unlocking new planes and upgrades. The game is very challenging at first, but after a while when you start upgrading your plane, it gets super fun.
Small recommendation I hope the devs read is that they should make our other plane dialogue such as, “destroying a plane, getting shot at, etc,” sound like it’s through a radio like signal instead of our own characters. For me, it takes away the emersion when i’m flying on my own plane and my co pilot plane does something that for some reason my character is responding to. For a more historically accurate gameplay, the captain that talks in the beginning of every mission should also be in a static radio sound instead of sounding crystal clear. Even if it’s just an option to set on and off I think this small difference would help create so much more emersion.
Anyways this game is great if your looking to really dive deep into pretending/role-playing to be a WWII fighter pilot! Definitely recommend:)
Amazing Flight game! To be in the cockpit of these WW2 fighter planes is amazing. The detail is really great. You really get the sensation of operating a fighter through the skies of the Pacific. The only things stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the “engine overheating” and “ guns overheating .” Takes away from the whole experience. I think for a VR game, they should do away with this and let fans of these types of games just push the plane to its limits, especially during dog fights. It sure if anyone from the developers read this, but I’ve had the game for 48hrs and already losing interest because of these features.
Brilliant, but lacks polish. If you want to take off, fly, land, chase, and destroy stuff in planes, buy this game immediately and play it.
It's excellent.
It still needs a bit of polish on the menus though, and there are some little quirks to be worked out.
Like when you choose to take a single 1000lb bomb instead of 4 smaller ones, and so you carefully drop that right in the middle of an oil refinery between all the buildings to hit them all and... Nothing happens. It doesn't go off at all, presumably because it didn't hit one of the marked buildings so the game just forgets about the bomb entirely. That's not fun.
Also the guy on the radio didn't like my landing angle, so he told me to go around, so I put up my landing gear and flaps to accelerate around, and the whole way he's repeating "put down your landing gear, you're going too fast, you're too high" etc etc. Obviously I'm going around, not trying to land, so the messages don't even make sense for that. And he just would but shut up about it, not a even two seconds of silence the whole way around. They should put a button in the cockpit to turn off the radio.
Or when I stalled the engine just before my wheels touch down, and the whole plane explodes. Fortunately the game doesn't seem to penalise you for messing up the landing after successfully beating a 20 minute mission, so it's not really a big deal.
So, yeah some quirks. But nothing game breaking, and honestly once you run into them once you just sort of learn to avoid them, and then it's not really a problem again.
Overall though, excellent game. Really really fun core gameplay, and well worth playing. Just expect a few quirks here and there, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how fun it is overall.
Fantastic flight sim, aggravating coms. I love this game as much or maybe more than the first, but I think it has the same problem as the first, the com chat is too frequent. Every. Single. Time. That I fire my guns for a second to long, throttle up for a little too long, or approach the carrier given about seven seconds to slow down to 100 mph, it’s “machine gun’s overheated”, “gotta let the engines cool down”, or “pilot, you’re approaching too fast”, respectively. The first one had the same problem too. Otherwise, I think the game is great, but, I wish the game had the A-24 Banshee (otherwise known as the SBD Dauntless), the plane that made history in the battle of midway. A sequel or perhaps a DLC set in Europe during the war would be fun too
An Amazing Arcade Flight Sim. Everything about this game is awesome, the combat is fast paced and the planes handle well. Cockpits are detailed enough. Bombing takes some skill though.
My only gripe is that I heard they won’t be adding multi-seat bombers which would’ve been icing on the cake and would’ve made this the bomber crew game I’ve been waiting for. Even just a two seater naval bomber or attack plane. There are absolutely no multiplayer bomber crew games on Quest or App Lab for that matter and I really wanna scratch that itch. You guys did it with Warplanes 1 so I hope you can figure something out!
Warplanes review. As someone who's been playing Warplanes since launch I have to say this is my favourite slight sim for the quest. The cockpit environment in the planes is awesome the single player and multiplayer dogfighting game modes are fun an i enjoy being part of the online community of regular players on here. For anyone looking for a fun flight sim experience i would definitely recommend this game. Be prepared to sink quite a few hours of practice into learning how to fly your plane and shoot down the enemy, once you start to master the controls you will become addicted.Five stars... the only thing I would say Is I'd like it if the developers added some more different maps and game modes or the ability to make your own custom maps perhaps this is a bit much for the quest though I like the idea of carrier battles with two teams where you keep taking off from the carrier and have to stop the other team from destroying your carrier and other ships and perhaps the ability to play as an anti aircraft turret on the boat or map.First team to sink the other teams carrier wins etc. Also non warplanes related i am excited to hear about the helicopter game that apparently is in development i am sure this will be awesome we need as many flight simulator games as possible maybe ones with modern jets ....and ones with spaceships where you can have space battles !!
Grandpa PTSD. I shows this game to my grandpa and he started screaming say the Japanese are here. He was so mad and killed and the Japanese. He died from a stroke 2 hours after. 10/10 game
YoURE OverhEAtinG ThE ENGine."(エンジンをかけろ)。
Satisfying dogfights / goofy com chatter. Let’s start with the positives: Cockpits are really well done/immersive.
Graphics are top notch.
Physics and flying feel intuitive and each unique plane handles a little differently.
Gun sounds bring you right into the action.
But please, please devs: the throttle overheats within seconds… and why? Worst of all there’s an annoying voice to remind you that “you’re overheating the engine.” Every. Single. Time. That voice over the radio is really the crux of my one and only complaint.
That particular coms voice barrages your ear with useless information. Some examples: “you took a hit” (no ___ Sherlock… I could hear the bullets ripping into the side of the plane) “you’re coming in too fast” (nope, this is just the right speed for landing, done it a million times now) and my personal favorite: “YoURE OvERhEAtinG ThE ENGine.”
I’d love to give this game five stars by fixing what the coms voice tells you in combat because at the moment, it feels like a little brother telling you how to drive from the backseat. I’d much rather hear practical info that helps with immersion and/or direction: “fighter at your 6” for instance. ANYTHING that’s helpful instead of blatantly obvious or unnecessary. And why is it only one voice on the radio? Shouldn’t there be multiple voices on the same frequency to differentiate pilots?
Surprisingly different than WW1 Warplane. (One major complaint: I wish the throttle on the joystick could be turned OFF. I constantly am using it to use the rudders and it is near impossible to rudder right or left without throttling up so I have Sooooo mutch more trouble conserving engine heat)
Judging from bad reviews I thought this was a carbon copy of WW1 fighters. Don't listen to them. The mechanics and game style are the same.... but the planes are advanced by 30 years and it shows. They feel completley different, everything from bombing to maneuvering takes new attention, care, and skills. These things are FAST. if a plane is coming at you "chicken style", you better aim and shoot quick because once you blink it will either be gone or you'll crash right into it. They're not travelling 100mph like WW1. They shoot cannons, or machine guns on most. And gun placement is different on a few planes causing the need for different skills whether it be wing mounted or nose it really changes how you attack. You can change the armament on planes as well. Need bombs? Torpedo? Rockets? Some planes even carry several different sized bombs. 45 pound all the way to like 950 pound bombs. This game is much different than WW1 fighters.
These are not as "lift" based planes as WW1 so you definitely need power during your turns. No throttling down for tight turns here. This completley changes strategy and engine heat conservation. It's very well Done. I can't wait until they release it in the full oculus store. Or meta or whatever it is now. I expect an exciting update when this happens.
I would like to see more plane variety but I am not displeased with what's available. Although I doubt they'll do it, I would love to see them continue the warplanes series through time eventually getting us to modern. Also want a VR pirate game which im confident they can do well. Good job home net games. Good job indeed.
DEVS! PLEASE ADD BOMBERS! I LOVE this game. As a WW2 fanatic and a aircraft lover I can confirm that this game was great the moment I bought it, the moment it came out. Great player base even then, iconic planes to fly, and it’d got a gosh darn F4U Corsair. My favorite plane of all time. BUT PLEASE ADD DIVE BOMBERS FOR THE LIVE OF GOODNESS! You Devs add even just a Dauntless or heck, A Dora, I WILL LITERALLY BUY ANOTHER COPY OF THIS GAME JUST BECAUSE! I know you guys are adding new planes Ex: The Raiden and Bearcat. So please add dive bombers. Heck, you guys have the dive mechanic in the game. And in the WW1 fighters there ARE 2 seat fighters and bombers. So please, even just a Dauntless would be great. In the meantime, I’m gonna go shoot down some other players :)
Fantastic WW2 fighter game... Really enjoyed their first WW1 title, and this is a great evolution for the WW2 setting. Most noticeable is that everything happens at a faster pace, so combat can happen at 500+ mph but easy to adapt. I love the small extra additions of flaps, landing gear, cannon, rockets etc although bombing is harder (might have to try dive bombing?) Difficulty settings are more limited but still effective, but some missions can be too tough although there is always a choice of 3. Would like to see more realism in terms of historic world events / progress (i.e. new aircraft appear as the war progresses) and simulation (i.e navigating to warzone from carrier) and perhaps some new missions (i.e. attacking airfields), but this is still far and away the best flight experience on standalone Quest, and fully enjoy the gameplay of buying new planes and upgrading capabilities.
