After a long and hopeless war, you find yourself alone and lost in space. Stay alive and try find your last chance to survive.
DAVID is a classic WaveShooter with 5 epic levels. Each level plays in a different galaxy and contains five stages. Fight endless waves of enemy fleetships and waves of incoming fighters to get to the bosship at the end of each level.
A nice storyline introduces new features that lifts your flying skills to a higher level. Collect powerups and special weapons for your ship and your support drone. +++ DAVID is inspired by classic arcade games and scify movies. It comes with an original soundtrack written and produced by Kim Planert, L.A. and professional voices overs for the main characters Bob Wireback (Pilot) and General Barrick (Science Officer, Mentor and Friend). +++ The gameplay includes impressive special features like playing in timescale mode or flying the immersive tv rocket into the bulls eye in an epic boss fight. +++ Start your engine, today
Galaga in VR. Amazing little game, can tell the small development team put a lot of love into it. Love the way it adds abilities as the plot progresses. The first set of missions are not indicative of where the game ends up. You start off using one controller to fly your ship in a 360 degree bullet hell wave shooter. Later levels will have you independently controlling two ships, directing attack squads, guiding missiles to sensitive targets with your head and slowing time to dodge between missiles. The progression is nice, you don't feel overwhelmed as it adds abilities.
The penultimate of sci-fi shooters! Just WOW! The penultimate of sci-fi shooters where you stand (or sit) in the heat of battle shooting down waves of enemy ships, missiles, mines, lasers, and more in the middle of space. The graphics look stunning and super smooth. The game uses an interesting control mechanism where your hands control your ship and a drone as if you are a puppet master.
I’ve only just started into Level 2 and the game has already introduced a variety power ups, goodie boxes, enemy ships, and bosses that require some strategy to best defeat them. It gets very wild and crazy as bullets, bombs, and missiles fly all around you and it can get a little disconcerting but you quickly get used to it as you wildly swing your arms and move around to avoid getting hit.
I love it when huge battle cruisers fly beneath your feet as you look down and shoot at it looking for it’s weak spots. Other times they fly above you and you can feel the scale of their size and it’s especially fun as you destroy them and they come crashing down right on top of you. I look forward to see what more is to come as I play through the levels.
I would like to see a way to move forward in space as I find myself physically moving dangerously forward or around to quickly reach those floating power ups! It would be nice to be able to use the joysticks to move around in space even if it’s within a limited area.
A bit dull and repetitive. Thought it would be like 1976 back to medway because that's what the video looked like. Not being able to stick move the ship makes it slow. 5 minutes of playing and I'm bored with no clear way to get a refund.
Outstanding immersive experience. My new favorite casual go-to game. I can completely lose myself in this. Beautifully done and can't wait to see what more you'll do with it. Thank you for making this.
A great 3d VR wave shooter game. A great experience
outstanding! Massively impressed by this game ! Visually stunning with dark undertones that gives you a great “ experience “ and intense gameplay wether playing standing or sitting but start moving & it gets even better. I’m interested to know why this isn’t available via the Oculus store or promoted more ? I haven’t been more addicted to a game since Space pirate trainer came out. Congrats guys .
A great reimagining of the space shooter. What a great, creative use of VR to bring the classic space shooter into the modern day! This game is instantly addictive: It's easy to play, but challenging enough to keep it interesting. The idea of using your hands as the spaceship(s) is one of those things that makes you wonder why nobody else did it sooner. The game mechanics are simple - and even allows one to play while sitting - although I'd highly recommend standing, as you can have a better ability to maneuver your ship; it can be a real workout! The graphics are clean and simple; Sound FX are good too. The soundtrack is excellent and really makes this game stand out. I have no real criticisms; only possible suggestions that might make things more interesting (or not). Firstly, the option for an aiming reticle might be helpful for some players - although it may make things too easy perhaps. Second, it would be cool to have a better feeling of flight or speed. As the game is structured now, the ship feels more like it is stationary (lacks forward movement). I remember Starfox as a kid had this great feeling of flight; I could see that model used with DAVID's game mechanics, which would be awesome :) You still have waves of fighters, but you have a forward track with some freedom to fly around. Just an idea. Thank you for the great game!
Really enjoyable. This is a great game for winding down to, great music and story line. It’s strangely addictive. I have gotten past level one nothing to do with the game. More a time issue on my part. But I keep coming back to it. The graphics are clear and properly 3-D. Great game!
Very Smooth, Very Enjoyable. This plays like the space ship mini game in the free Steam Labs game, but better. Very enjoyable and straightforward. You will have a blast. I'd recommend this to anyone.
It keeps crashing and no save option. It keeps locking up before I get through the 1st level. And when it does NOT crash I have to keep starting from "New Game." Also the opening is waaaaay too long. I do not want to wait what feels like forrver to see the title graphics and get started.
Before I return it for refund is there any chance these will be addressed any time soon?
Happy New Year and best of luck with this otherwise pretty fun game.
Simple, Unique, Great-Looking Seated Fun. This game gives me VERY cool and comforting remembrances of being an imaginitive child, and playing with toys.
That's because, instead of putting the player in the cockpit, your hands/controllers themselves instead actually take-on the forms of a fighter-class starship and its assist-drone. Wherever you move the controllers in your hand, the ship and its drone move.
You'll keep the controllers in-motion to maneuver your ship and its drone around and in-between enemy rockets, lasers, and mines, all while simultaneously aiming them to fire upon enemy ships and bring them all down, wave after wave. Your ship's guns fire very rapidly, while your drone's guns are ever-so-slightly slower. Your ship and drone do not accelerate, nor fly THROUGH space, however, as you are hovering, shooting, and maneuvering within a designated area. While flight-and-obstacle sequences may one-day add to the already-substantial level of coolness of this game, make no mistake; the current lack of these things does NOT deter the fun factor.
It's a totally AWESOME concept, ESPECIALLY since so FEW VR titles are designed/comfortable to play SITTING DOWN. This adds a VERY valuable "much-needed-physical-break" element to this title that I simply cannot deny. Most of my favorite games (In Death: Unchained, Battle Talent, and Space Pirate Trainer) are not only best played standing, but they can also become pretty physically TIRING! With the exception of Moss, Trover Saves the Universe, and a couple others, actually, most of the BEST native Quest titles are FAR more fun and conducive in a standing position. That being the case, an actually FUN game that can be played sitting-down is certainly a VERY WELCOME addition to my library!!
The graphics and lighting are VERY nice, crisp, and CLEAN, too. For a completely FREE TITLE at THAT, this one is REALLY a NO-BRAINER!!!
If more environmental variegation is added, along with more levels and game modes, this game could VERY EASILY become a SMASH-HIT in the store, with a PREMIUM price tag! I happily paid $15 for Space Pirate Trainer, and this game is definitely already not at all far behind that game in content.
Keep up the awesome work, devs!!
--And if you're a curious, potential downloader who is reading this review, JUST GET IT!! It's FREE, and it will be very LIGHT on your storage space. Be cool and SUPPORT this totally AWESOME and talented independent developer!!!
Very sharp graphics, good game. Very sharp graphics (quest 2). everything very lovingly designed. The game is fun, you avoid the enemy missiles with the ship and shoot the enemy and collect items. This is how you complete stage by stage. Im in hope for more content soon.
This free app lab game ist better than a few full price games in the oculus store..
Fun good looking shooting game. First, thank you developers of this fun shooting game, I enjoy it very much. It is only chapter 1, but it is well make, looks beautiful, play good and want more chapters of it. A lot of hard work and time are put into this shooting game. Great work. Please continue to improve and add more gameplay, new maps into it. I will buy this game. And recommend this to everyone to play. Keep up the good work. Thank you
Good Times! I've seen some negative comments about this game's controls. I enjoyed having the ships as hand controllers, as it gave it a more realistic sensation and challenging. I am a casual gamer and have recently jumped into VR. So, keep up the good work. By the way, your opening credits were cool, too lol.
Challenging 3rd person space shooter. I really enjoyed this refreshing approach to wave shooters, you control your ship and a seperate drone from the 3rd person perspective as you defend yourself from an onslaught of fighters, destroyers, and more. Nice graphics and challenging gameplay held my interest. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this one as it develops! Thanks DAVID!
