My Favorite Game (And Review/ Feedback). Here is an overview from my thoughts about this game: Garden of the Sea 🌊 🌱ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ
(@ means chosen in these rankings)
---{ Graphics } - - - • You forget what reality is • Beautiful @Good • Decent • Bad • Don't look too long at it • MS-DOS
- (Pretty good graphics, though not perfect, it still gets the job done.)
-(Self explanatory, anyone can play this game and feel great about it.)
---{ Difficulty } - - - • Just press 'W' @ Easy • Easy to learn / Hard to master • Significant brain usage • Difficult • Dark Souls
- (I would’ve ranked this in the “Just press ‘W’ category, but there are many things to do in this game, which doesn’t make it tedious in any way, but is much less simplistic than just “Pressing a few buttons”.)
---{ Grind } - - - • Nothing to grind • Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks @Isn't necessary to progress @Average grind level • Too much grind • You'll need a second life for grinding
- (This honestly varies. If you’re the type of person that hoards everything, then it would be quite a grind to collect e v e r y t h i n g in this game, but not too hard.) - (But overall, this game does require you to collect quite a specific amount of items, but only if you want to. This is why I picked two categories instead of one.)
--- { Story } - - • No Story @Some lore • Average • Good • Lovely • It'll replace your life
- (There is some lore amongst this game, and although it can be considered as a story, I consider it as lore because even though it shares similar characteristics with a storyline, it is more of lore. The game doesn’t give much context about the things that happen after you do the puzzles that are faced in front of you, which I consider as lore. [I’m trying not to give out any spoilers lol sorry]).
---{ Game Time (Story)}--- • Long enough for a cup of coffee @Short • Average • Long • To infinity and beyond
- (It’s quite short, nothing too big.)
---{ Game Time (Sandbox/ Other Activities)}--- • Long enough for a cup of coffee • Short • Average • Long @To infinity and beyond
- (Kind of like Animal Crossing, you have no limits to the time you spend on this game.)
---{ Price } - - - • It's free! @Worth the price • If it's on sale • If u have some spare money left • Not recommended • You could also just burn your money
- (At least I would say it is worth the price.)
---{ Bugs }- - - • Never heard of @Tiny bugs • Minor bugs • Can get annoying • ARK: Survival Evolved • The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs
- ( I didn’t run into any, except I phased through a wall with my teleporting abilities. Nothing too bad, kind of funny.)

Review (For those who are looking into perhaps buying this game): This game is a basic VR version of Animal Crossing; Fun, relaxing, exploration based, cozy, and quite simple. If you are into these characteristics in games like me, then this game is for you.
Feedback: The game itself is very relaxing and you feel very content with the environment around you. There are many things to do, craft, plant, and explore. I honestly don’t have anything critical to say. The only thing I would suggest is to make multiplayer an option in this game. It would be so much fun to tour someone else’s island and explore islands with your friends or another potential friend. Imagine it! Even a trading system between friends would be really cool, but for now, multiplayer would be such an upgrade to this already cozy and exciting experience.
My favorite game- of all time!! I had low expectations for this game at first, I'll admit. But the second I met the animals that live on the main island, I fell in love!
I hate being alone. I don't like people much, but I still don't want to be alone! (If that makes sense-) So when I saw these adorable creatures (+ the others on the other islands as well) I was so happy!
The gardening is straight forward, and I 100% reccommend grabbing at least one of each grabbable item (plants, etc) from each island! I didn't follow this rule, and had to make a trip or two back...
My only con is that I was confused for the puzzles and how to properly do/craft things in the game. The tutorial just shows you how to garden, then sets you free in this wonderful world-! While that's nice and unrestricting, I felt a little lost at first.
This is so worth the money, please I highly reccommend it!! I haven't even talked about everything here! There's so much more!
Immensely relaxing! Absolutely fabulous game. All the little characters and animals are so sweet. Nice progression and lots to do. It has a really chill, relaxing vibe. Big time recommend if you like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Coral Island, Harvest Moon, Ooblets type vibes
In love 🤍. This game had me playing it every single day all day long. I’m a stay at home wife and when I tell you I would play this game for 8+ hours every day, I’m telling the truth. This game is like animal crossing in vr. One of the best games I ever played. Perfect cozy game. I just wish they’d add more shop items and house decor.
I bought two copies 😂. I originally got this game when it was available on Steam for the Vive since I was using a friend's VR setup. I then got my Oculus but couldn't connect my headset to pc as my own tower is too old. So I caved and bought the game again and wasn't disappointed! I loved this game when there was a very limited story and no direction to what you needed to do and I still love this game as the polished piece it has become. I recently restarted as I hadn't played in a while and wasn't aware of the updates that have taken place so it's like playing a new game all over again!

This game is a blast… way better than raccoon island… it’s got so much beauty and charm. The crafting and building/farming mechanics are incredible. Everything just feels so satisfying, planting seeds and watering them, you can feel the intent with everything because there’s no way it’s all this satisfying by accident. If you like cozy style games like Animal Crossing, Spiritfarer, cozy grove etc. then this game is for you…. And if you’ve never played those games, give this game a try, cause it ultimately taps into our hunter/gather instincts so we’re all wired to enjoy this game.
Needs multiplayer. I have been obsessed with with animal crossing and then I was wanting to find a game similar. I didn’t have high hopes for this game. But as soon as I started playing I fell in LOVE! If it had multiplayer it would make it so much more fun! And if you could play online with others!
Very relaxing!! I was looking for a game that was relaxing that I could immerse myself in to destress. I found it!! I do agree with some of the other reviews, there isn't much by way of tutorials. You just have to figure things out, or Google a walkthrough, which doesn't even have everything. I'm still stumped on a couple little things and can't find anything online. That being said, it truly is a fun game. Collecting plants, meeting the animals, upgrading your home-I finally got the biggest one! It's really cool! I think the best part is discovering you can drive the boat and that you can fish. I've made several return trips to the islands just so I can use the boat.
I think it would be amazing if the devs came up with some DLC. You could do new islands to explore with new critters and new plants. Obviously the storyline is already complete but it would be awesome to have new places to just explore.
This game isn't expensive, it's fun and immersive and interactive. Buy it.
Must have for cosy gamers!! It’s a beautiful world to explore and solve puzzles. Crafting system is very comfortable to use. You can farm, tale care of the animals, decorate and upgrade your house. I could literally spend hours just walking around and collecting things/growing my veggies to buy more stuff from the merchant!
Best game yet. Garden of the sea is the best game on my oculus I’ve played yet, but at the bamboo island when I got all 3 gems the big person gave me the dragon type flower thing but when I picked it up I dropped it on the ground and then it just disappeared. So now I can build the barn thing where your animals lay eggs. Can you please make it so when something falls into the water or disappears it will go into your inventory. Other than that the game is super fun. But can you help me about the bamboo thing?
Amazing!! I love this game so much!! Its such a beautiful game and the mechanics i find amazing. The fact i can pet and befriend the lil animals is such an amazing feature. I love the open world feature as that is what i usually look for in a game. I do admit i spend much longer just chugging away on that little boat then i should but its so fun!!
I will say the only thing i wish it had more of was storyline as i got through that part of it very fast, and maybe a few more animals i can befrend!

I have to change my review. ITS AMAZING. I'm not refunding the game because 1. I still have yet to finish the boat and explore, 2. I've played 2 hours, 3. There are more upsides then downsides. The game is actually really cool, I love the artstyle, the tutorial (although a little confusing on where to go, you learn quickly anyways) and the animals are adorable, crafting is simple and easy to learn, character and animal designs are simple and nice. Making a garden is just so peaceful, with various plants and foods. The environment and atmosphere make the game exactly what it looks like, cozy. 8/10 you should play this if you like cozy mangment and exploration games.
Devs please hear me out I really want to love this game, because its genuinley good, but these issues should at least be looked into
The downsides, Locomotion support is great, teleporting is a lot more quicker getting place to place, but I also like using the joystick to immerse myself and sometimes I get randomly stuck because of a small ledge, and even a new bridge I just built, or I'm up a cliff, and some parts of the world teleporting is mandatory which is ok but I find weird.
New edit: after riding the boat, I'm unable to use joystick because of the cramped space. And then I use the wheel, and it's hard to control the beat as the wheel gets stuck. And then the boat keeps turning. I had to open and close the game in order to fix it. Also this is a minor issue (you dont have to fix this) but I can't point. It's more of a gesture problem, not that it breaks the game, but I guess I find it weird that when I lift my index fingers my hands stay as a fist, and also when i open up the menu I'm not able to select things with my right hand, only my left. But that's about it.
But one big upside is that when you start to progress, ITS SO MUCH FUN from filling g the heart for your companions, to going out to sea seeing all the places you can explore!
Just wow. I’ve loved this game since I figured out that it existed. It’s just all so cute with all the different creatures, and the nice bright colors. Each island is just so unique and beautiful in its own specific way. If you’re debating this at all, which I doubt because of how amazing it is, I highly recommend
Amazing Game! Just one problem…. As I said, it is a very good game! It has good graphics, and you aren’t forced to do a certain thing. That’s probably my most favorite part about the whole game. It is a pretty great game, but it can get challenging trying to figure out the puzzles on the islands. The bamboo puzzle is pretty easy, but I’m really stuck on crystal island. I’ve activated all 3 of the crystals, and I can teleport with the crystals, but I was stuck on the island with the crystal with vines wrapped around it. I was really confused and I just opened up my menu and hit return to home. I’m starting to think I shouldn’t have done that. 😅 Now I can’t access the island with the crystal with vines on it, and I’m super duper confused. If someone could help me with that, I’d greatly appreciate it. Sorry for the long review, but overall a good game.

🔆REVIEW🔆 Multiplayer ❌ ❕GAME❕ If you want enjoy playing games such as Animal Crossing or Story of Seasons ( great games ) then you will definitely enjoy Garden of the Sea. Garden of the Sea is an amazing game where you can progress at your own pace and there’s no rush. It’s relaxing as you befriend the cute seaside animals or upgrade your house. You are able to craft, cook, befriend animals, explore, and overall you can take a break from reality. ❕GRAPHICS❕ Lags ❌ / Pretty smooth gameplay with no lags interrupting/slowing down the fun Graphics ✅✅✅ Good graphics and high quality
LOVE LOVE LOVE 💕. This is one of my favorite games ❤️ The puzzles are not difficult, but not simple either :) It is very interesting to play the game. The only wish is to make the game multiplayer. And even after completing all the quests, there is a feeling of loneliness in the game. As if something is missing and a little bit boring to play. I would like to play a story game: change the house, buy a lot of different items, go through different challenges or some one-time events with the opportunity to earn exclusive inventory for the house. I would like to add a fireplace to my house with the ability to heat it with wood. :) And also interact with home decor, for example: putting a kettle on the stove. I would also like to be able to buy a new house design. With the ability to choose the layout of the house 🙏🏼❤️ But anyway it's a great game 5 ⭐️ / 5 ⭐️!!!
I LOVE IT. As a huge fan of farming life sims, this game is everything I could have wished for and more. With the ability to pet animals, go fishing and drive a little tug boat around, it provides hours and hours of enjoyment. Only downside is I could only play for a few hours at a time before I got motion sickness but that’s not the games fault. In fact I usually get motion sickness much quicker than that.
YES YES YES! PLEASE READ MY HONEST TAKE! Let me begin by saying this - I HATE spending money on games that I end up not liking. So I spend days reading reviews and thinking about something before I make a purchase, and if I see even one well written <4 star review I won't buy it.
I. Cannot. Believe. I. Made. Myself. Wait.
This game is seriously everything I could've hoped for in VR! It's adorable, the graphics are lovely, and the entire concept of "farming in VR but make it cute" is great. For the pros and cons: Pros - Customizable movement. Necessary because I hate choppy movements, this does have a "smooth" option (and the speed is adjustable in case you get motion sick like me). - Adorable critters and vendors! I haven't progressed far yet but the creatures are so cute, and I LOVE that you can love on them and rub their tummies. I hate feeling lonely in games, so I like that they're just kind of everywhere and there are other humanoid creatures. - I cannot explain how good it feels to farm and enjoy the fruits (no pun intended) of your labor. The game is at an enjoyable level of difficulty. It's challenging and puzzling at times, but not so much that it's discouraging. And the "puzzles" (i.e. go get A and B to unlock XYZ) are straightforward but not so easy that it's boring. I love the requirement of combining things and creating EVERYTHING, from garden trellises to crates and more. So satisfying. And you can chop wood! - Replayable/Quests/Time as in, you don't feel stressed or hurried, but there are objectives for you to complete. Keeps you busy and interested, or you can relax and work on your farm. This game is the epitome of "there's no rush."
Cons -No multiplayer. I really and truly believe the ONLY thing that could take this game from amazing to flawless would be to add multiplayer. Farming together like the VR version of Stardew Valley would be amazing. Or even if you could visit friends, like in Animal Crossing. - No guide. There are in game hints, which I love, but some of the basics of the game aren't very clear and it doesn't do much in the "tutorial." The in-game hints are fine, they're little sheets to help you figure things out. But there should be better guidance in the beginning so you can have the best experience possible starting from day one.
Fantastic Experience. This game got me through a rough time~ the little world was a retreat from stress and so lovely to play as I tried to figure out all the mysteries while tending to my garden and home island. I would look forward to it for days as I played. It really makes you think and problem solve on your own with a couple nudges in the right direction, but the solutions are often not so hard to come to. It’s fun to have that challenge and not be guided through every part of the game! I really appreciated that as well as the welcoming art style and environment. I was surprised a lot with this game and delighted that there was more than it seemed at first~
First vr game. This was my first game that I got for my vr. I am very pleased with the experience. I got very motion sick the first few times, but now I barely get sick. I love how calming it is. I love the farming in this game
