Spiderman VR (Resist) is amazing. Forget the name Resist, this game is literally spiderman vr with you swinging through the city shooting things and it's a blast. One of the best games on Quest. I'm not sure why this game doesn't get more press besides having not paid off the right influencers. This is one of the most fun games on the Quest and really has some of the smoothest web-slinging and flight mechanics of any game on any platform. I recommend this game after you get used to using the controls and can use your head and hands in unison well in VR. Despite the large amount of movement, I've never had even a hint of motion sickness in this game. I'm not sure if it's because of the lower poly graphics or the way motion is handled, but other developers should take note. If you grew up reading Spider-Man you know how often Spidey would go web-slinging to "clear his head" and this game is great for that if you don't feel like shooting anything or fighting for your life. But if you do, the game is also a shoot 'em up that allows you to do that too. My only knock is the puzzles you have to solve when you're hacking the billboards. They don't really seem to have a clear logic to them once you get to 4 wires so it's just guesswork. It could be that I'm misunderstanding their logic, but the symbols don't make it as self-evident as one would hope. This isn't big deal since these are just side missions, but it's worth noting. Great game!
Super fun game. Story: great (some people don’t get it, based on reviews. You are part of the resistance in an autoritario regime! Not hard really 🙄) Voice acting: excellent (they have been awarded for it so dare to contradict that 🙄 Physics: one of the best you’ll find. The swinging feels so satisfying! (People in the reviews: is all over the place… ) you have different settings. If you turn with your head instead the joystick, when you look to the side the character turns… Duh! Set the controls right then we’ll talk. Another one said “you can’t shoot while swinging” I don’t know what game have you played, not this one…
We need to make it longer or a sequel to this game! Is one of the games I have spent more hours on. I want more. It needs more advertising, every time I mention it nobody knows about it.
Really enjoyable. The game is worth the money. The story is nothing special, but delivered with good voice acting and keeps you engaged. The gameplay especially the swinging and the traversion in general is fun, upgrades are motivating as well. The graphics are fine. It's not the longest game but it does not get boring and has the right length for the price.
I hope there will be a resist 2 in the future for more advanced headsets, which could build on the idea and gets even better graphics, more story and more variation.
One of the best games I played so far, and the perfect use of the quest 2s hardware.
ALMOST perfect. Having finished this game a little while ago, I decided to take some time to reflect before writing a review. My initial thoughts coming out of this experience were HEAVILY focused on the positive parts of this game (which, don't get me wrong, there are a lot of positives) but I've come to realize that this game isn't perfect by any means-- and a few things in particular bugged me a bit.
1. The controls/maneuverability, especially while in the air, feel somewhat awkward at times. It seems that while using the jetpack, the game has a hard time determining which way is forward, making flight feel clunky, especially in combat.
2. The story feels a bit rushed. At the start, the pacing was perfect. Everything flowed together nicely, and it all made sense. However, mid to late game, everything starts to feel somewhat crammed together.
3. There seems to be a lot of filler content, such as the pointless window washing sections-- like, come on guys, did you not have something more interesting you could've implemented? The one at the start made sense to a certain degree, but adding a time waster late-game just completely threw me for a loop.
Even after all of this, though-- while this game does have it's shortcomings, it is 100% worth buying.
The story, although it has its share of flaws, is gripping and exciting. Obviously it's nothing life-changing, but it has enough weight and depth to keep you interested.
Swinging and flying around the city feels very liberating and satisfying, and the POI's add incentive to leave no stone unturned.
The voice acting is surprisingly good, which is rare when it comes to vr titles.
I could go on and on, but at the end of the day, this game is good. Not "perfect," but good. 100% would recommend this title if you want a fun adventure with some dope swinging mechanics. Props to the devs for making an awesome game, can't wait to see what you guys do in the future.
A VR game that's actually a full game. Most VR games, regardless of the platform, while really good, are usually just polished demos. Here, we've got a full story with solid writing and voice acting, a decent open world full of collectibles and side missions, an upgrade system, and loads of gameplay that takes full potential of VR without feeling restricted by it.
It even has a fat load of options to customize for your best comfort. And I mean a LOT. It's still intense and only for people with their VR legs. But it's still very accessible, with even a story mode to greatly reduce the difficulty.
It has it's bugs and difficulty spikes. But it's still an excellent game that feels like a fully fleshed out game!
Amazingly fun! Easily worth the price. Looks great, sounds great, and just oh so much fun.
It is definitely worth a few minutes to customize the controls until it feels perfect for you. I ended up increasing options as I got better and it just feels super fluid. There are a lot of options to fit pretty much any play style (and seated works great!).
Not a long game, but a lot of content if you want to complete all of the side missions—and if it clicks for you, you will. Also, it has New Game+ which I am about to start right now!
As a side note I put this game off forever, because videos make it look so-so, but I was instantly impressed by its polish when I started it up.
One of my favs. This game is a awesome open world story driven high action experience that could be comparable to any super hero game. Looking forward to a sequel some day. Maybe once we get better hardware the next game can really blow our minds. Great job Devs
One of the best games I’ve played so far. My current favourite vr game to play, I love the swinging and jet packs and the story is great. I would 100% recommend it but there are a few bugs that make you spin around sometimes even when you’re not touching it and there seem to be problems with the game not being able to tell which way is forward when you’re in the air, I’ve changed settings to try and fix this but it still happens. If those bugs would be fixed or if the settings could be clearer to change then this would be an incredible game
This game needs more hype! This game is incredible! I feel like it's super under rated, and for the price, it absolutely ticks all the boxes. It's fun, the graphics are epic considering that it's just running off the headset alone, and the level of polish overall is top notch. The devs have done a great job on this game and I would recommend it to anyone, unless of course they have a really weak stomach. 10/10
I can't resist saying this games flaws. Story and characters are so generic, swinging becomes obsolete once you have a jetpack or grapple boost or super jump, guns feel so bland and unsatisfying, there have been so many times where I would glitch underneath the world and fall infinitely. The enemies are so dumb and pointless. The drones go down in one or two shots even on the hardest difficulty, the tank can just be cheesed by standing right next to it with your guns, and the giant mech can be stun locked. Also why do you devote recourses in making a power washing window section when there are others more important features you should be working on like the grapple hook. But in the beginning of the game when you have no upgrades and the story is well paced is probably the most fun part of the game so why not focus on trying to bring the rest of the games quality to the standard of the beginning of the video game. Thank you for reading bye. And yes I beat the game twice once on regular difficulty and then new game plus on hard mode. Also I get you wanted people to do the side challenges but they are so boring and tedious so please instead of forcing the player in doing meaningless side tasks MAKE A BETTER STORY AND GAMEPLAY INSTEAD OF JUST PADDING FOR TIME. Sorry I just really hate when games do this.
Such great mechanics & FUN! Language 👎. This is a really fun game. REALLY fun! The environment is excellently done. The training module is VERY clever and good! They made it part of the storyline and that adds so much to the feel and immersive experience.
The ONLY reason I’m dropping it a star is for the language. The s-bombs and F-bombs just aren’t necessary. It’s be great if there was a setting you could turn off the potty language. I know it’s not for kids, but I’m 42 and I don’t want to hear it either. It would take nothing away from the gameplay or story if it wasn’t there, so why add it?
Overall, incredible game that I am going to be playing a lot!
Good Concept, Bad Controls. The game would be really fun if not for unintuitive and disorientating swinging controls. Swarm is a game with fantastic controls but terrible execution, locking you into a small room. If this game had Swarms controls, it would by far be the best game on Oculus, despite its lackluster graphics. It’s just ok as it is now.
Excellent fun. Loved this game from beginning to end, lots of fun, a little tricky to master the swinging about the place, but great once you crack it. Ending up hundreds if not thousand of feet above the city in one boosted swing only to fall peacefully down again is just an excellent free feeling.
I really hope there is a follow up 😊👍🎉
This game is surreal, you sling around an actual thriving city, or you can jetpack your way around, the choice is yours! As others have said it feels like a Spider-Man game, but I've been standing on the highest buildings looking down and I've also felt like Batman overlooking the city scouting for crime/objectives/hidden items. I'm shocked how great this game is. I hope you have your VR legs under you because this game might give you a headache tho haha quite intense. I had no clue how they're going to make GTA: San Andreas for the Oculus Quest 2, now that I play this game, I can envision it, its so awesome.
I love it. One of the things that annoys me the most about this game is the fact that only 900 people own this game. I would definitely expect way more people to like this game. This game is one of the greatest games I have every played in vr. It actually made me feel like I was progressing in a game that has all the things that I could have asked for. I’m so happy that someone figured out what vr is all about and added features like ripping drones and swinging around and shooting robots. This is definitely a game that you have to pay attention to all the things going on around you. I would definitely recommend this game and I hope that other people would read this so they would know to recommend it to other people. The only thing that I would change about this game is that if the people walking around the city would have some kind of reaction to what is going on around them instead of just walking around with no expression. But anyways I really enjoyed this game and I would love to see if a second Resist game would come out.
Waiting for new city. Nicely done Binary Mill, the POI are so challenging and exciting, even the mysterious events that occur during storyline are frickin incredible... Hopefully there's gonna be new city coming up.
Note: what's the easiest way to find the codex, I tried scanning but nothing showed up 😋
