Arcade game refreshed. Game is amazing, no idea why this is still in applab. One of my top 5 on Quest as an old arcade player. Must have for Gen X or older.
Not sure why this game isn’t more popular than it is. Give it a try. Anyone born before 2000 will LOVE IT, guaranteed.

スリーパーヒット。 このゲームは、3D部分を除けば、本当に良いゲームだと思う。

Sleeper hit. This is one of those games that you play that you're like what? it looks cheesy and then an hour later you still want to play more this is a really good game for what it is except for the 3d parts Then because I hate those so much it drops it down to good instead of great
Just wow. Very nice game from the 90´s , I remember playing this at the arcade back then , I love the 3d and the immersive part of the game ! Really nice and fun ,I want to get all the challenges like in the old times , please do the same thing with other classics !!! 😄😃 ps : this game should be on the oculus store already !

Great. Great buy wishing it had more levels awesome graphics
It doesn't download. This used to be a great game until the Developers gave up on it now it doesn't even load. What a waste of time. Don't waste your money on this game..
P.S. I even uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, restarted my quest 2 and reset my quest 2 as well and it still did not work! SMH
A great mix of classic and VR gaming. A very creative and unique mix of retro and VR gaming. With good graphics, sound and immersive gameplay elements. Full video review - https://youtu.be/VuPd7eOE1po
Fun to play but …. Fun to play. BUT the controls in the IZ Immersion zone are too sensitive and jerky .. it’s almost impossible to hit planes .. fix this in an update and you’ll get 4 stars !! I love the game and can play for hours but the IZ zone controls are too janky .. I would pay for an update that improves controls. And more 3D time in the IZ .
Nice 1942 clone with unplayable parts. This really feels like they made a nice and very decent 1942 game, an overhead shooter with all the bells and whistles, then decided that they "need some 3D VR" and cobbled together the "Immersion Zone" part of the game as an afterthought in a single day without any beta testing whatsoever.
The controls and handling of the Immersion Zone are so incredibly bad, those parts of the game are virtually unplayable, regardless of what control system you choose. Didn't they even test this or don't they just care? The difference in quality between the two game parts is quite jarring. The standard 1942 game play is quite nice, but the IZ is an atrocious mess in every respect, with the controls and handling being the worst. Good luck trying to shoot any plane down, apart from random lucky shots.
I could forgive the game if you could just turn the IZ off or just ignore those parts, but you still need to "collect stars" from your missions for your progress, which include the IZ, so you are stuck with having to play the IZ parts too. That immediately pulls the rating down to 2 stars, instead of 4 stars.
Either fix the IZ or give the player the option to turn it off without hampering their level progression! Not sure if I can trust Ivanovich Games with any future purchases, having experienced this obviously tacked on, shoddy gameplay.
I played this as a coin-op. I played this game as a coin-op game back in the '80s under a different name. It was strange and difficult at first but the more I played it and learned the tricks, the more I enjoyed the game.
You can go from playing it as a coin-op, looking at the screen to actually being inside the game and playing it in the first person.
Like most VR games, more in-depth "how to play" instructions are needed.
I like it! Just a quick review, I like it, but I feel like I’m playing to not want to play the immersion zones. For people who have not bought...
It is great. I like it, specially upgrading, necessary. But the immersion zone( the first person scenarios) are just not fun for me. I see it as a deterrent. Controls are janky in it. Just not enjoyable. I think would work if it was on a flight plan, and you put actual VR components in there. Reloading, pulling, vibrations, jamming, in game power-ups involved on accomplishing. Maybe ally planes can be involved. Something makes me go wow over dang. Better to not force bad integration over great game play for the sake of. Maybe offer 2 modes? Not full duel concepts but being able to play certain levels in immersion. Like only immersion, short, so you do not abandon.
Obviously we all love this who like this style, and I do not think I am alone on the IZ sections.
Takes me back!!! This game takes me back to being 10yrs old at the mall arcade pumping quarters into the original game. This has all of the goodness from the original made up to date with the bonus of virtual reality immersion in immersion zones!
Also try the Operation Warcade demo and get your hands around an Uzi and let it rip! Another classic made better!!
To the developers,
What’s next? How about Commando remake? Or a single or co-op game with Ikari Warriors remake? There are so many awesome games you can remake. Count me in on getting them all!
I do like this remake of a coin op... Does this game really need to be pressed up to me as it is, a zoom out would be nice so I do not have to turn my head everytime my plane goes to the far right or left of the screen when in classic mode.
Amazing game!!! This game is incredible, and definitely one of my favorite games on the Quest. The first night I got it, I played for hours. I’ve already made it up to the final stage (well, the final 2 I should say), and I’m getting my butt best big time! I’m leveling up my plane like crazy so that way I can beat it. If you like shmups and liked 1979, you will love this VR version. This is DEFINITELY a must buy, and at only $15, how could you go wrong? There are games twice this in price that aren’t as good!
