Ok it’s been awhile and I still play operation snow blind every day. It’s been crashing a lot lately, this screen just freezes and my operation is just a rectangle and there is a black void around me. Then the game sends me to oculus home after a few seconds. Odd.
Espire Ops added a nice touch to the game, but quite frankly, they’re not all that fun.
Suggestions to make the game better? I have one. It would make the game a perfect 10/10 (right now 9/10) my suggestion is melee weapons. Yes, not just the healing tool. Maybe an axe, knife, machete, a pencil, (lol jk) Anyway, don’t just add these in the cheats because some cheats are hard to get. Scatter them around missions, Have some guards have knives, in the mess hall massacre Espire Op add some forks and knives. Please be creative and put in some deep consideration about this review. Please. This game needs something different!

True stealth game , FUN, EXCITING 😎. I love everything about this game! The missions are great, I Love co-op but wish they would add more missions. You can do the same mission 5x and each time you get a different outcome. I love Sooty, he's tiny but gets the Job done. If you are looking for. A TRUE STEALTH MISSION BASED GAME....THIS IS IT !! ! The Best Stealth Game. Like robots? Like stealth games? Love metal gear solid? This is for you. With a short campaign though lots to do and lots to complete, you'll love it lots. With unique enemies and unique enemies and levels, this is everything to love in a stealth game on VR.
1 question about the multiplayer. This game is perfect!!!! I got it as a birthday present and played it ever since! I only have one question about multiplayer, are you planning to publish more multiplayer mission anytime soon? Me and my friend really enjoyed the missions and if yes we can enjoy even more! I loved the first game and can see they learned from some minor flaws and made this better. It is the best stealth game in VR.. Replayability is great. This is honestly one of the best games in VR. It takes a while to get all the mechanics. Once you do it all clicks. Top 10 for me honestly but it fits my play style. I love stealthy games and this does it well. Great job Devs!

Update: so the developers asked me to update feedback (yes, they actually listen!). So I think that this game is lacking is a more complete story, and also I’m not super crazy about the weird vision update (when you move, even on normal, your vision is like a super small tunnel). But overall I think this was a great game and pretty cool. 4.9/5.

AMAZING. This is a new and updated review and I just wanted to say that with this new update it is worth anything you have, the 2023 roadmap looks amazing and the new public co op extends the gameplay to a new level, I’m talking more like 4-5 hours of new gameplay now accessible to us. I actually had a friend who got the game and he loved it too, the co op levels are intuitive and creative and we both loved them. The graphics are great and I love how you can interrogate the guards. The only suggestion is to make the mark one robots a bit less strong. Anyways thanks devs for the response and the beautiful game and I hope anyone who plays it loves it just as much as me and my friend
Great. I'm really excited about this title. It feels very much like Metal Gear Solid, but at the same time something completely new, since the suit to control is very robot-heavy. The optics are very good and the game mechanics are implemented even better than in the first part. The entire game is staged so incredibly well and you just feel endlessly cool. But I was particularly pleased with the coop mode, since every game gets even better when you can enjoy it with someone else. The story is excellently implemented and the cutscenes are perfectly integrated into the VR world, since you never have to be idle. Can only recommend it as a mandatory title on every Quest 2.

I'm not sure how feasible it is to introduce a matchmaking feature for the coop campaign as apposed to just invite codes and private lobbies, but if done this'll definitely be a 5-star VR game across the board
Absolutely amazing. This is no doubt the best stealth game on VR. Currently not much competition with the stealth games, but it definitely will be hard to beat this level of beauty. I absolutely loved Espire 1, but this sequence took me to a different level. I was astonished from the very first few seconds, where the Robots were hovering over, it was amazing. Needless to say, the game is so smooth, I prefer to play without the grid or anything that interferes with my visuals, I am pretty sensitive to motion sickness, but I am happy to report I have no problems at all. The graphics is amazing. So detailed, I would just stop and look around before proceeding, just to admire the design of each room. Everything is so well-made, you have freedom to proceed the way you want to, whether going loud or quiet, and both ways are exciting. The enemies can spot you pretty easily, and I should say very realistically, which makes the game so much more interesting, as it brings more realistic outcome. It’s not easy at all! But it’s a great challenge, to replay and improve your game. Plan your strategy, this game is about strategy and stealth! I have to say, amazing job, devs! I just started playing, and this game blew me away completely, and I’m enjoying every second of it, not rushing through it, but actually enjoying the immense experience, complemented by fantastic graphics and interesting story. This game has everything that a stealth lover wants, definitely adrenaline pumping, your own pace, weighing out the risks and figuring out the strategy. Would strongly recommend it to everyone! This amazing game will bring you immense joy, and long hours of play and replay.

By far the best VR game I’ve come across. I didn’t even look for this game, I bought it in a bundle with “After the Fall” but holy cow is this the game that made that bundle worth it for me (no offense to After the Fall which is also fun but this is my kind of game right here!) I’m so glad I happened to get it!! I went back and forth on if I should get that bundle or just buy the other game alone but wow I’m seriously glad I did..I played it once and couldn’t put it down!!!
As someone who’s played quite a few VR games up to this point, with Resident Evil 4 VR being my previous favorite.. I can say Espire 2 is the most immersive, gameplay versatile experience I’ve ever had in VR. This is the kind of game you would hope somebody would make when you think of a VR experience. I was enamored from the beginning to end. Overall I had an absolute blast going through this game and I definitely took my time, sometimes I had to replay multiple levels again but it was no hassle at all for me. I absolutely loved taking on missions with different approaches, the developers knocked it out of the park with what you can do. To anyone who has VR I would say this game is a must, and being someone who loves Metal Gear Solid and stealth games in general, I was right in my element here. From the surprisingly accurate voice recognition you can use to hold up enemies, to the multiple strats you can use to navigate areas, this game is a solid 10/10 for me and an experience I will truly never forget.
The soundtrack is also absolutely AMAZING and deserves high recognition!! It’s a shame I couldn’t find these ost’s on YouTube, especially the tracks from the high rise stage. It’s fairly obvious the developers are massive fans of MGS (such as the freight elevator in the beginning after the first sneaking area, the lockers and being able to place enemies inside. The way the music changes from the Alert Phase to Caution Phase and eventually when you’re in the all clear) chefs kisses all around!
The only possible gripe I can think of is when I would grab my chest weapon a lot on accident when trying to make a fist to punch enemies (which you don’t need to do to knock out enemies by the way, you can do that with an open hand) or just trying to grab my repair tool, I do like the idea of having your heavy weapon on your chest as a means for quick access, but I feel something like resident evil 4’s reach behind your back to grab your heavy weapon mechanic would probably benefit the game more here. Maybe in the next game you can get the option to place your gun on your chest or your back? Other than that I don’t see how I can give this game anything other than a perfect score.
Can’t recommend this game enough, thank you for blessing the VR community with this gem!! Can’t wait to see what Espire 3 will look like!

A VR Loveletter To Stealth Games. Espire 2 is easily the best native stealth game available in VR, despite the fact that it doesn’t really have much competition currently it sets the bar extremely high for future titles in the genre. It wears its inspiration from stealth legends such as Metal Gear and Splinter Cell on its sleeve, borrowing similar mechanics from both franchises but puts a unique VR spin on them. For example to hack into computer terminals you have to “type” on the console to hack into it, and you can actually interrogate enemies by using voice commands like “get on the ground” and “drop your weapon”. But on top of that the graphics, soundtrack and production values are among the best on the platform, all top tier. The stealth mechanics themselves are actually quite polished and on the harder side in terms of AI difficulty.
Enemies will realistically spot you from quite a long distance if you aren’t in the shadows or behind cover and very quickly will get suspicious. When the attention arrow above their head turns red they will immediately come and search the location they spotted you in, as well as alerting nearby enemies which can easily compromise your escape routes and force you to go loud. It’s a lot more demanding than I expected from normal difficulty and I think it’s great, I was definitely worried that the stealth and AI mechanics would be watered down as a result of being of a native Quest VR title. There is also a degree of freedom in routes to take through the levels, allowing for no-kill ghost runs if you have the patience (but are rewarded with a better overall score). However, there is no manual or quicksave so you really only have one shot per checkpoint and they come somewhat rarely. Also the levels are still linear and have singular objectives rather than being fully open with multiple objectives like Chaos Theory.
I love the wide variety of gadgets, guns and abilities given to the player to tackle the games sandbox of detection mechanics. In order to avoid lasers, you must use the self repair tool which doubles as a taser to disable them, and to turn off cameras or circuit boxes you can use the electro tranq launcher in your forearm. You can also enable slow motion Espire movement and run extremely quick to get around turret lasers. The sheer amount of ways to get around obstacles is what makes stealth in this game so engaging, combined with challenging AI and “hardcore” old school save points that turn up the tension when you can’t just quickload to safety. Being able to hide in lockers, physically crouch under obstacles to avoid being seen and the panic of hearing the guards reporting the use of lethal force by an intruder and the alarm system subsequently going off is a whole new level of excitement and adrenaline rush from stealth games that I haven’t experienced prior.
My only gripes with the game, though I haven’t made it too far yet mainly come with pushing stealth and lighting even further— I know the Quest doesn’t have the best hardware for rendering shadows and realtime lighting but some of the best parts of playing Splinter Cell were watching the light gauge slowly tick up as you creep past an enemy trying to stay in the shadows. Espire 2 doesn’t have that feature, nor does it have the best shadow and lighting system. I wish more emphasis was placed on having to stay in dark corners to avoid being seen. Also I’d love if there were more vision modes like Thermal or Electro-magnetic to be able to see enemies and electric grids in different ways, currently they’re all kind of clumped together in one mode called Espire vision. But the game as it is currently is still amazing and I love that it exists, it scratches that immersive stealth itch that just doesn’t come with traditional flat games and would definitely recommend it (though a bit steep at full price).
Edit: Deducting one star for a progress erasing glitch involving weapon unlocks. After loading in from a save your primary weapon, in my case the M4 is able to randomly disappear for the rest of the mission if it was held in your hand instead of holstered. Because the method of weapon unlocks is “carry it to the end of a mission” one is required to redo the entire mission in order to collect the weapon from the same spot because there’s no manual saving. To add to this, the weapon unlock system is broken because it doesn’t even unlock after finishing the mission with it holstered. Very frustrating way to have this set up, would prefer a better way to ensure weapons are unlocked over having to carry them to the end of a mission.

But I want to address some of the reviews that say the ai is braindead. I felt like the ai was pretty good, the only part that feels off, (and this is me nitpicking) is how they call searches off after about one minute. but I think that’s just to keep the gameplay balanced. Overall this game was awesome and felt like a true stealth game on the quest
