Cards & Tankards is VR’s first social collectible card game. Collect over 180 cards, battle against other players or the computer and enjoy the immersive atmosphere of playing at your local card store from the comfort of your home!
This game is AWESOME. Cards and Tankards is the best app lab game and one of the best oculus games it's worth the download especially if you enjoy other card games like magic the gathering and hearthstone but it is the superior card game thank you for making this game I can't wait to see what the future holds.... As they say it is inevitable
Great card game that’s free. This is a game that reminds me of other card games and it is as in depth as any of them. For another thing, IT’S F***ING FREE do I really need to say more than that. It does have 100+ different cards from 5 different categories, a great community, plus they have moderators and reputation based taverns that keep the taverns people fun. As an added bonus, they don’t try and shove micro transactions down your throat but they do them in a currency format (like in PokerStars if you’ve played it). As for whether it’s worth it’s price, I’d have said yes if it was worth $10 or $15 but instead it’s free and the devs have done a great job on it and are still working on making it better. I don’t really know why you are reading this seeing as all you have to see is the $0 price tag and like the concept and it will be worth the price but I will still write this regardless.
It logged me out. It logged me out and when i tried to logged back in threw quest it just made me make a new acc and when u tried making a new acc and use the same name it said the name was taken so the acc still exists it just wont login to it, Still a pretty fun game tho.
Fun game at no cost?. I play a lot of card games, both IRL and online, but I find this one to be so much more fun than the others because it doubles as a chat room AND is balanced. As for the community, it has to be the most welcoming one in existence, no one is particularly unkind, (except of course the children too young for VR) and it has better moderation than any other game EVER period. (you can report someone, and a moderator will walk in within 5 minutes to discuss it with you) As for the gameplay, it’s a kind of like a mix of Hearthstone and Magic the Gathering, and it just… works better than the two separately (in my opinion, at least) it’s not too hard to obtain new cards, nor is it to find an opponent. The game is still growing to this day, so it’s only going to get better as time goes on!
Why. Don’t get me wrong I love yugioh but in terms of the balancing this games all outta wack. Saw a card that takes 21 life from your opponent in 8 turns (feels familiar) for 7 magic then another that gave you 10 health once you go below 10 for only2???? Meanwhile I’m over here looking at a card that costs 10 mana even tho it’s pretty much just a 10 beating stick I honestly would rather go up against tri brigade (broken yugioh deck) then play this game.
Graphics. I started playing CAT in the beginning of June, it took me a while to pick up the game play but once I did I’ve been hooked ever since! I’ve met a great group of people through the public taverns and often host tournaments myself. Super excited for this next update they have coming out - can’t wait to see what they have in store for all of us.
10/10 For Multiple Reasons. Hello Future Adventurers,
I have been playing this game for about a month now and am around level 115 (yes I’ve been no-lifing it).
Here are some of the things about Cards & Tankards that distinguish it from other card games (and VR games in general):
- Multiple (4 currently) Factions that each have a multitude of play styles - An extremely active, and growing, moderator staff that I have seen consistently respond to reports within minutes - Monthly qualifier tournaments as well as other tournaments where free gems (and cards & tankards infamy) are given out to winners - The ability to easily customize and add as many decks as your heart could desire - Consistent updates as well as sneak peak roadmaps that keep new and existing players interested
These are just a few off the top of my head but there are plenty more.
There is a slight learning curve, so try to play against people that are higher level than you at the beginning and see what decks they use or cards they prefer and learn from it. Most importantly, have fun with it!
The #1 game on quest. The best game I have ever downloaded, I am not biased but I had my quest 2 for a long while and cards and tankards is not just my most played game on quest,it’s the only game that I never took a break from because it’s “stale” so yea get the game now and I hope to battle u some time.
Great game and community. I've been playing this game for a decently long time now, and even though it has its ups and downs, overall, the game is great.
Community: As a whole, the community is great and very social and amazing. Mods who do a great job. It's easy to make friends to play with and help you test decks and give you ideas on how to improve. When you're at a low level, there are plenty of people who are willing to help if they are free and able.
Game play: The game itself is unique with a plethora of ways to play and lots of different decks to build so that the game never feels like its gettingold or never feeling the same. With each different faction doing something different and being capable of helping with other factions within the decks, allowing multiple combos to use to help you win the game.
Bugs and updates: The beta tester team is doing a great job of finding the majority of bugs and letting the devs know so they can be fixed before the release to the game, but like most games a couple unexpected bugs will show up, which get fixed very quickly. When a new update to cards comes out with it either being new cards or changes to cards on occasion, there will be some broken plays with them, but the devs are also quick to finding the best solution and fixing them.
Overall, this game is amazing with multiple ways to customise your look and deck boxes, as well as being able to animate your cards on top of that being able to have multiple flying pets to follow you around as well as a table pet to cheer u on when you are in a game and amazing rewards in the season pass this game is a definitely must play for any card game enthusiasts
Get 1000 gold. When it asks for a friend who referred you put CronicAftermath you will get 1000 free gold once you reach level 5 which is really easy to do. It helps me out as well it would be much appreciated this is such a great game!
A great vr card game. A great vr card game to play with friends, Similar to MTG with customizable rules, booster packs, and cosmetics/props, I do wish you could still earn coins if you set the rules to MTG rules and still earn currency as certain rule sets dont allow for earning currency. Also I wish the game would use the default avatars with the abililty to wear their clothes as you will never get a character to look like you unless your a stereotypical mid 20's male american youtuber
Amazing game & Community. The game is fun, simple to pick and there are endless deck combinations so everyone has a different style of play it’s not super grundy to unlock everything, the community is very welcoming and understanding of new players and will often help them out. If you are considering buying this game i’d definitely recommend it!!!
Banned because of my ethnicity. I’ve been banned by a 10/10 game by a moderator when me and my friend was falsely accused of saying something we did not. While I was talking with the moderator about what happened I told him what happened and I told him that the person who reported called me the n word and I admitted that I said suck my balls and he only banned me the only African American man there.
The game is very well designed and fun, if you like Hearthstone you will identify, however, the feeling of being inside the tavern is incredible, especially seeing the live cards on the table performing the spells. The environment and options in the game are very good, deck and card creation is well balanced.
Improvement suggestion:
- Being able to change the face. Everyone has the same face shape. - Different taverns. I would like taverns with different environments. - A bar inside the tavern for people to sit on a bench, chair or whatever around a table to discuss decks, or any other topic. - An achievement system, being able to see the achievements that a player has achieved. - prevent the opponent from seeing your cards, it's annoying for children to go around the table to see what you have.
Toxic community. I started playing it was a really fun game 10 out of 10 up until I reached level 80 or so but at that point lower levels would either not want to battle me or I crushed them which is not very fun and all the higher level players that have been playing for a minute are very toxic or at least in the few servers that I have been in for the last week someone legitimately said the n word like 50 times I reported him but apparently he knew the moderator and I straight up got banned for false reporting and anytime I try to do against a older player they're always extremely toxic or blatantly destroys my deck and then becomes toxic
Best D&D style Card Game for VR! This dungeons and dragons style card game R.O.C.K.S! And I'm the guy who never played D&D before. Tavern environments are socially classy and well moderated with surprisingly helpful and respectful friends.. literally strangers lending a hand to the newbie like me. Matches range from simple to highly equational. It's becoming an addiction for sure!
One of the best games on the oculus. It’s the best game to play if you want to play for hours on end and it has kids around your age to play and joke around with. It’s also a completely different type of card game normally the card games on the oculus are poker or known games. While this game completely makes an original card game
This game is great. Pros: I would highly suggest this game. I think it’s one of the most unique games for the oculus. It’s a ton of fun to play, if you like magic the gathering or games like it then this is a must have. The graphics are pretty good. The deck building is a lot of fun, just like in real life. One of the coolest parts of this game is that when you place a card you see a 3d figurine of it in game, that really helps immerse me in the game.
Cons: There are some issues I have with the game. The first one is that in taverns you can have level 15s and level 1s battling each other, which seems pretty unfair. The first battle I did against another person I battled a level 10 and got my a$$ beat. So if any developers are reading this then I feel like you guys should have taverns where only a few certain levels can join. I feel like you could have one tavern with level 1-5 and another with level 6-11, etc. my second complaint would be that you can only have 10 secondary faction cards in your deck. Why? It doesn’t really make sense.
But I do realize that sense this is a free game that these issues I have might just be a factor of the game being free. And I can’t complain, this game is still really fun, and I still would highly suggest it to anyone who likes card games like this. And thank you devs for making such a fun game, these issue that I have with the game could just be me being an idiot, idk.
A total newb's opinion. I knew nothing about this going in and I've never played Magic or anything similar. The tutorial is only about 50% helpful. My friend, also a newb, couldn't escape it because she couldn't win against the tavern keeper and texted me "I'm losing my will to live," so maybe don't make beating the AI compulsory. It starts to make better sense playing against a human, when your opponent doesn't do 5 things in quick succession and leave you wondering what the heck just happened. It sucks that you have to pay real money to get a private room but I guess they have to pay the bills somehow. Maybe that will change as it gets more popular. We played a game in the public tavern and were at least able to turn the voices down, because it's really quite a lot to deal with while trying to figure out how to play. But the game mechanics seem smooth, didn't encounter any glitches. Just don't know how often we'll return if we can't play privately.
