Issue with the starry sky location. I just bought this app for 25€ ( a bit overpriced). The overall impression is good, it is a nice planetarium app. BUT, there is a function of the app called starry sky in which you are supposed to have access to many location on Earth but I only get 3. The other one are with question mark and I can't interact with them. The app should be 512Mo but the download is only 250ish Mo. Does anyone knows what the problem can be ? Thanks
Dissatisfied. As a casual enthusiast I was a little disappointed with this for the price.
The main feature has various tours of the night sky with the focus on constellation shapes and its associated Roman and Greek myths, rather than the science of the objects you are looking at.
There is a free mode that allows you to look at what you want, but I was surprised you can't zoom in on objects of interest. As a result, on a clear night you can see more with a pair of binoculars to be honest.
Disappointing. I am an amateur astronomer. I was looking for an application that would allow me to identify stars in virtual reality by clicking on them. This does not seem to do that. Rather, it gives a predetermined storyline explaining the stars that the viewer simply watches. There is very little interaction. I haven’t had it for very long but it does seem limited in this respect. The ability to interact with the program is one of the short falls. That being said the graphics are beautiful the music is fantastic and it is a nice program. Just don’t expect to be able to point to an identify stars and move the sky with your hand controllers
This program sucks. Do not waste your money, I am an amateur astronomer and this program is bland and the advertising is very very misleading. Do not buy.
Stunning but... It's gorgeous and educational but not worth the price in my opinion. Would not have paid more than $15 for this but yes it is absolutely gorgeous and relaxing.
Like going to the planetarium! So when I was younger, I always loved having the glow in the dark stars on my ceiling. Fast forward to adulthood, and I live in an area where I would be lucky to see two handfuls of stars.
This experience enters in, and does exactly what I wanted. It lets me see and enjoy the night sky, it tells me stories of the constellations, and also has some nice music to enjoy. So I chill and lay down and enjoy it all the way I wish I could do in the real world.
My only negative is that I find the constellation image for cetus to be a little unsettling, but like, it is a sea monster, so it is what it is. Besides, we've got two hunter constellations working to take care of the problem.
If you enjoyed going to the planetarium and found it calming and peaceful, and you want to enjoy that whenever, I highly recommend this.
Love gazing at these stars. Since childhood the night sky has been my favorite place for escape. Homestar VR is now proving to be a viable alternative during the cold winter months. I know as summer comes I’ll be able to return outdoors, but this app will remain a useful tool for learning to identify stars and constellations. I’m very pleased with this purchase.
Horrible business model, absolute scam!! Having purchased the original Homestar VR app I was annoyed when this “Special Edition” was released at more than double the price. In the original app (now removed from the store) there were 3 environments with place holders for further to come, I expected at some point they would be released as an update and not a whole new app at more than double the price. Curiosity got the better of me and I bought the special edition to see what had been added and this is the same experience with a few minor updates at best, it should have been a free update to the original app. No new environments, the same place holders for what I assume will be future updates but nothing worth paying for again. I’ve never requested a refund as quickly!
This is a horrible business model and a dreadful way to treat customers, don’t get me wrong the app itself is actually good but I purchased it for £7.99 and instead of updating it they have removed that app, posted a new app as a special edition with minor differences and charged £18.99. For that alone I would advise against buying it as this behaviour is not something that should be encouraged. Shameful.
Excellent Astronomical Planetarium. Exellent expirence! To see such a starry sky right now, you need to travel hundreds of miles from cities. Perfectly shows the starry sky from anywhere on earth! I stay for half an hour studying the constellations of the southern sky. What I would like: Make the stars white, they are very green. Regulate visible star magnitute, less aggressive texture of the Milky Way, need more scale the Moon, textures of Magellanic Clouds, bright galaxies and nebulas (M31, M42...), change day and night with sunsets and sunrises, eclipses of the Sun and Moon on planetary theory VSOP, adjust the number of meteors in settings. Excellent expirence!
Liked new starrt sky spots. Thank you for adding the three new scenes. I like the details and the last scene with the flower trees and lighting. All of that under the starry skies makes it a place to gaze and relax! Keep adding more, please!
