Great game, but I only have 2 problems. This game is splendid. For this review I will only cover the stamina bar and the guns. If you’re not interested in that, go read a different review. The stamina bar is way to small, depletes way too quickly & at times, can be difficult to refill. A soda will refill quite a bit of stamina, which is nice, but it takes off a chunk of your health. In a game where it doesn’t take much to kill you, health is important. This makes me not want to drink the soda. The main reason I’m complaint about the stamina bar is because it wouldn’t be an issue, if the walking speed wasn’t so slow in the first place. Second, the guns. They are fun to use however, finding materials to make ammo for them is a hassle. It is also quite difficult to aim them when you’re in a pinch. The ammo is a massive pain. It’s easy to get all the materials for ammo except for tue gunpowder. Gunpowder is extremely scarce. Otherwise, it’s a perfect game. Here’s some tips: -zombies can hear your voice, footsteps and gunshots -climbing things drains stamina so be careful while climbing -use melee weapons. The barbed wire bat and the shiv are great weapons to start off with -don’t wave any weapons around or even pull them out while talking to a character. They will become angry with you and either try to fight you or it will reset their dialogue -don’t pull knives out of zombies or humans heads too quickly because the headset might not detect it -carry a spare shiv with you at all times -bring food and bandages everywhere -try to save ammo. Only use guns when necessary -drawers, doors and some boxes can open which can lead to some good loot -at the start of the game, make sure that you fully explore the graveyard, because somewhere in the graveyard, you can find an axe

People need to realize something. One of the first games I bought was this, and boy, oh boy was it a doozie.
First things first: Gameplay and Graphics
Gameplay is amazing, the weapons have weight and feel real, and braining walkers has a satisfying touch to it, the story and missions were very fun and enjoyable to complete. Graphics are actually pretty good for standalone, I was was shaking in my boots most of the time.
Second: Game time
Nice, long, interesting, and investing story, with people reacting humanly to things like you pointing a gun at them or saying something mean or rude. This game goes for a good while and have stuff to do afterwards when you finish the story. Probably goes for a good 20 hours or even a couple of days if you play it slow.
Third: overall feel and opinion
This game is overall an amazing piece of art, the price is also very worth. My opinion stays the same; it’s a great game.
Lastly: if you’re one of “those” people
What I mean by this is that you give the game a 1-star review just because if one thing. Like things including:
-durability -weapon handling -story pace -genre
Durability is part of a survival game, and do you expect scraps after a zombie apocalypse to be and work in mint condition? No! Because things break.
Weapon handling in this game makes sense, even if you’re buff, handling a shotgun or a giant saw-blade axe is going to be heavy no matter what.
Story pace again makes sense in this situation, in a zombie apocalypse, things need to be set up so you can meet and not be overrun by factions or zombies. Nothing happens all at one time.
The genre is horror, if you don’t like horror, then don’t play. Simple.

OK now the review. Absolutely brilliant game weapon handling and mechanics are best I've played. The survival crafting is great as is the story. There is a wave game too where you fight off increasingly difficult zombies. If you don't have this game yet buy it today. Play it to completion then buy the 2nd one. That's cool too
5 stars. This is a beauty of a game, this is one of the first games I have played on the quest and I am not disappointed. There are many things to love of this game but I will go over the most important parts to get you to buy this game.
Gameplay This game... this game is something else. The guns, melee, and equipment actually feels like it has weight to it. Most games that have many different types of weapons like melee, guns and other things usually has one part lacking than the others but in this game it is fun to experiment with different tactics to clear out zombies or humans, the gunplay feels great and the other types of equipment that allows you to distract or explode your enemies is fun. But wow the melee is magnificent and there is a lot of different types of melee weapons that actually work in different ways, knives can easily pierce a zombies skull in and out, the axe can go half way through a zombies skull and cuts zombies heads off but what I am most impressed about and the weapon I love the most has the best of both worlds, it can pierce through a zombies skull and can cut it off. The only thing I could say they could fix is the amount of zombies that spawn once the bells ring, when I played this game I was always scared of the bells when I was new so I never went pass the bells but now that I go after the bells it is very easy and there isn't that many zombies. I get that there probably is engine issues and they can't spawn that many zombies but other than that it is a great game.
Graphics The graphics are better than I expected when I considered of getting this game.
Story The story I great and very interesting and the fact that you can choose your own ending is great, for the most part your choices gives more information, but in the end you have to go through hard choices which is the cherry on top of this magnificent game. The characters are mostly likeable and they have very human reactions to your player actions. I have always loved the Walking Dead Universe and this game does not disappoint.
Ending and final thoughts Overall the game is great and I can only think of one bad thing in this game. I highly recommend buying this game it is worth the money.

I played the game 5 times here'sMyReview. I have gotten my times worth in this game for sure and it's still my favorite VR game.
Weapon handling is amazing and probably the best you're gonna get in VR. They made stabbing feel realistic (I swear I'm not a psycho) everything feels great.
One of the only VR games that is a full game and not just a little experience. First time playthrough you'll get 20 hours or so of gameplay along with many extra hours in DLC or exploring and finding things.
Graphics look decent enough on quest. Of course not amazing but it's a stand alone. Don't expect top qaulity. Game runs fine and I never notice any frame drops. They made the game very consistent.
I've played the game normally 3 times now, Done a playthrough where I collected every characters head, And I have done a Speedrun.
Overall still my favorite VR game for gameplay, atmosphere, playtime, horror, combat and all of it is on quest. I can't wait for what's in store for saints and sinners 2 but what I can tell you is that it will be great
One of my first, still a favorite! Warning: very long review, might’ve lowkey accidentally wrote an essay
I first saw this game through the YouTube channel AWolfInVR (great channel btw) and I immediately fell in love. I saved money for about a month in order to buy a Quest 2 and the game, and loved every second of my first play through. The thing I love the most about it is the feeling of power from it, but not only physical power, this game makes you think.
In the beginning, I started out like most new people, only weapons being one-handed stabby things like screwdrivers, rusty kitchen knives found in an abandoned home, etc. and soon I found the first gun, a makeshifted 9mm 6shot revolver. I had some fun with it, had a bit of trouble aiming but it was my first VR game and I’ve never shot a gun in real life.
After a while of sneaking, scavenging, slaughtering the undead, etc. I gained access to a wide arsenal of amateur-made killing implements. (I particularly liked the double-barrel shotgun because I felt like the Doom Slayer.) Towards the end of the game, I chose a survivor faction to side with, made a difficult choice, and finished the story.
After the story (this was pre-DLC) I would wander the regions of New Orleans, armed to the teeth and devoid of mercy, and start killing any and all walkers I came across until my weapons broke. I liked to imagine myself as someone like Doom Slayer or Goblin Slayer, no mercy for my enemies (walkers in this case) but compassion for my human brethren, so long as they showed me the same respect.
Fast forward some months later, I hadn’t played in a while because the futility of slaughtering the infinite undead set it and got depressing, and the DLC was announced. I was overjoyed; I finally had something to look forward to in unfortunate NOLA. I played the DLC as soon as possible and loved it, it was a nice twist to the normal gameplay and added more resolution to the ending.
Now, I stand in the post-apocalypse reveling in the strength of arm and mind that my experiences gave me, unmatched by any who stand in my way of purging the undead from the great city of New Orleans. Making a good gumbo before I go out is always nice too.
My only suggestions (note I said “suggestions”, not “complaints”) for future updates, should there be any, would be to add more variety to the weaponry, not that there isn’t great variety already, I just like to have options. Maybe put in a crossbow (or a more powerful and durable normal bow) to make arrows of various types more viable towards the late-game once bows start becoming less viable as opposed to a pump-action shotgun. Various Blunt weapons like hammers and clubs could also add something, as they would be very good once they hit, but it would be harder to get that hit due to their encumbrance. A double edged sword that would be slower than the katanas but have 2 cutting sides to better deal with large hoards. A makeshifted spear to do what a knife does but from far away without the unreliability of throwing the knife, but it doesn’t do much defensively and requires commitment to use. A flamethrower that would be the opposite of stealthy, even more than shotguns, but would decimate anything caught in your sights (and would add a use other than being bombs to the propane tanks) The ability to light stuff on fire in general would be awesome and would make a lot of not super useful items actually valuable.
Alright, that’s the end of my unintentionally long review that turned into an essay. If you read this to this point, I appreciate it. Can’t reward you much more than that. Buy the game, it’s great.
Very good game, a little glitchy tho. I got this game a while ago, and I love it. The story is great, aftershocks is good. There are a few things I want to address tho.
Glitches There is some gun glitches that have made it so I can’t complete missions (I cant complete the war zone mission for aftershocks because of this)
1. Gun shaking. Every time I aim a pistol it almost always has a seizure. It makes it hard to aim and I have died many times because of it.
2. Rifle freezing. Every time I aim and turn my gun around while aiming. The gun freezes in place and makes it very difficult when fighting people. I have to shake my controllers when the gun freezes up like that.
Other than that, there is no major glitches! I like the interactibility of when the zombies grab you or when you heal, or reload. Unlike other games, the zombies don’t just hit you and you don’t just press a button to reload or heal.
I am very hyped for retribution and I hope the devs read this
Best VR game of all time. I love this game so much. Every choice you make influences what the story is, Out of all the different paths you can take in this game, my most favourite is genocide, (IM SO SORRY CASEY 😭 I need my guns!) Meanwhile everyone else is risky, but rewarding to kill, When I play this game, I feel tense, I could run out of ammo and get killed, my double barrel shotgun could break and I'll be left with nothing but my mitary knives to fight against my enemies, in this game, Zombies aren't your only enemies. There are multiple factions that you can go against. You could befriend them all, and they won't try to kill you OH and the free SLC was super fun! I did tons of the loot scavenge thingies post game, but that was before the DLC. This game is both Fun and entertaining, I just wish that it would never end! This game has so many neat little tricks and Easter eggs it's fun just finding them all, like how you can shoot your cigarette to light it, or you can basically just lure zombies into enemies, a pure pacifist run in this game is REALLY hard. When everyone is trying to go against you, it's hard not to just pick up that revolver and shoot all your enemies in the noggin. What I enjoyed most about this game was probably the fighting, rather you use knives, or guns, it really matters as enemies can hear you if you speak or if you shoot a zombie, all the other humans and zombies will hear, and the zombies would come mindlessly running at you, and the humans would be on guard. GREAT GAME CANT WAIT FOR RETRIBUTION!♥️
People are stupid. There are a lot of one star reviews saying this game is not a fast paced action zombie shooter and it’s not meant to be this isn’t Cod and others complain about how it is too hard to handle weapons well get over it this is a near perfect Vr Survival game if you don’t like it that’s your problem
Best survival game I've ever played. Pros: The graphics are interesting it makes it a little cartoony which weirdly works and looks cool.
Gameplay is amazing loved evrytime I snuck up on an enemie then ran so when they turn around I see the horror in their eyes knowing they're gonna die.
The ending was absolutely perfect.
Cons: some of the character dialogue is buggy like sometimes it would keep reseting I'll have to crouch under them for it to stop. And I hate when every you approach a human enemie at a 10 mile radius they keep shouting at me to go away.
BUY IT! I love The Walking Dead and this game is just one of those things that makes me love it even more. The graphics are really great on Quest, it's not exactly photorealism. It has more of a drawn/cartoon style but it has very realistic lighting. Similar to the style of the comics or the telltale games. This is a weird detail, but the music is one thing that really made the game great, it's eery and slow paced, and perfectly sums up the tone of TWD. The story is perfect. I love that it wasn't set in the main story of the show or even the same place as the main show. None of the original characters make an appearance and there are little to no references to the story of the show which was refreshing considering the other TWD games that we've gotten so far. The concept, pacing and characters are also great and the setting and layout of the map and its locations is perfect. The combat is amazing. There. That's all I can say. Really smooth and intuitive with a tonne of combat options and a great variety of weapons. You can also craft weapons from the show (Rick's magnum, the Governor's knife and Negan's bat) which was a nice touch. The gameplay is just 👌. There is certainly a strategy to the game. Scavenging, stealth and conservation of food, ammo, weapon durability etc. There is also a degree of choice to the game, as there was to the original telltale games. While not as extreme, you can still choose, from a selection of options, what you say to people. As for the immersion/horror aspects of the game, let's just say you will be pissing your pants constantly. Every time I enter a dark room or hear something from behind me my soul leaps out of my body a little. It's so nice to see an actual proper TWD survival/horror game for once and even nicer to see a VR game that truly takes advantage of the fact that it is a VR game. This game is an absolute classic VR title and if you have a Quest or Quest 2, I can thoroughly recommend this game.
This game is awesome but. OK so just to say I have terrible grammar so bare with me on this.
Let's start this game is really fun for anyone because you don't really need to follow the story and you can just play and kill without doing many missions. But the story is really great and the $40 price tag is just to little for this game heck it can be $60 and i'll still buy it because it is just way to fun to not have in you're library.
THE STORY The story of this game is supper fun but can be pretty slow for many/some people and most times when i bring the quest 2 to my friends house they usually don't want to play the game for long because it's to slow for them. But if you have the time to beat this game it's so worth it for the ending and the fact that you can chose how the game goes with different factions and the fact you can freely chose what the tourist does is to good and sometimes funny. this part gets a 9/10
THE GAMEPLAY even if you finish the game there is always a reason to come back to the old save and continue what you started/finished and all the voodoo dolls, statues, safe codes make the game fun and scary at some parts (Rampart). And the graphics my god for a headset that is standalone i wasn't expecting this game to look so lovable and CRISP and obviously the pc graphics for this game are way to good but still it's a tiny headset loads this game like it's nothing and there are rarely any problems with it i only had one where the arm model wasn't loading but a small reset fixed that. 10/10 Suggestions
* One i would love to see a shop in the game where if you do work with a faction you can earn points/coins to buy things from the camp (like days gone) *Make cassy a proper character because you do all that fighting and sometimes dieing for him then BAM he just gone for ever *Add some new guns or weapons like making the axe a build able weapon for people or a sickle or other weapons of kinds *make it to where i can see the journal like i click the trigger it opens 10/10 game
ZOMBIE GUTS. The game is great. This is my first review on a game, so cut me some slack. This is the best Quest 2 game i have EVER HAD. Its amazing, theres a story mode, the “Trial”, which is just killing zombies in one area with no story is great. The graphics are good, not the best but good enough. The zombies look ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, although i wish the body types were more diverse to be more realistic. The story is great, you really get attached to ——— and in the end theres a hard decision you have to make. Great game!
Best standalone quest 2 game. This is still my favorite standalone game on the quest 2 headset, followed up by resident evil 4
Graphics No game on the q2 alone will deceive your eyes. With that said, this game looks amazing for how much is shown on the headset and with the unit handling the physics in the engine. The levels are big enough, the enemies have Ragdoll physics attached, there is a bit of lighting involved
Gunplay This is why I put this game over RE4, RE4 guns don't have quite the immersion of this game. Reloads have more feel and require more accuracy such as the bolt rifle where RE4 is going for the more quick pace arcade feel. Guns jam,.they break, you can tactical reload, you can melee walkers with the gun. There is a variety of melee weapons, with 3 variations between them(blunt, hack, slace/stab). Weapons will collide with the environment, swing a sword in a tight corridor and you'll hit the wall, stopping your animation (it can be janky at times, but I prefer these collisions.)
Gameplay The gameplay is spread over the course of in-game days. The player will pick a level to spawn at, with allocated time before *avoiding adding spoilers*. There arr sometimes Mimi missions separate from the story missions on some level(not many in total). Events, quests and other information is stored in a journal. There are various items you can store in your backpack which can scrapped for resources for getting upgrades or building replacement weapons(your weapons break from usage), food and medical items. Enemy variety are walkers and humans, with a few variations in threats they pose. There are no boss battles
Audio Music is well done and never overpowering until *avoid spoilers*. Walkers moan and groan. Humans make observations and threats. There are a few notable humans that have very well done vocals and scripts. You can use your own voice as a way of blowing your cover.
Ai Not as dumb as a wave shooter, but vanishing into the shadows can easily allude any adversary. Sniping will leave enemies dumbfounded. There are times where multiple enemies can pin you down with exceptional accuracy but it's not unfair. The ai happens to have super human hearing, drop a spoon in a room and they will hear you sometimes at absurd ranges. If an enemy is neutral, they won't respond instantly with a gun in their face, giving you the opportunity to unload a round
Replay There are multiple endings but nothing like Heavy rain or Fallout You can change the skin tone, gender of the player After a few updates , the devs released a mode where players can kill walkers earning points in survival mode, the mode ends after a certain amount of rounds There was a dlc storyline released, which is available for free after beating the main story There is no multiplayer and I'm fine with that, gaming online for decades has been hell to me due to the amount of racism I have heard/received
Comfort There are a variety of comfort settings, from snap turn, tunnel vision, there is no teleport (I don't think it's bad since the player doesn't move as fast). The game can be played seated or standing.
Story It has a few moments but nothing like the telltelle games series. To me, I'm a old school gamer where the mechanics matter first but there is some bits of dialogue that will keep you entertained.
Please add multiplayer. This game is honestly more fun and addicting and scary combined. I had finished this game months ago and I still even to this day play it more and more and I never will ever forget this game. But what would really make it more fun is multiplayer being added. Just imagine you with other people or friends just finding resources for others to help them advance in this game if they are new or lacking goods. I hope this will eventually come in the future. And I also hope for PvP too. The fact that I said scary is I have to carry 3 zombie guts to the school and inside if I'm looking for caches or put them on me while I walk down the corridors in the school
