$13 a month!?. …..wow..thought I would be able to progress thru the game to get the foil sailboat….but….NOPE. $13 a phuckin month! Boooooo! Do better Marineverse. Although I will continue to play…….Can’t get my money back at this point….but wish I could.
My dad has a sailing license and he says this game is very realistic the sails are on point and the controls are also very similar. Don’t listen to the other reviews the water has been updated and is more realistic.
Great for teaching sailing. FANTASTIC APP! My kids are learning to sail using MarineVerse; it's a great way to learn the basics quickly and progress further into sail trim, racing tactics, and more. Love love love this app
Landlocked Non Sailer. For someone who has never actually tried to sail before but wants to learn, this has been a very good and helpful experience! Racing against my own times and trying to learn to sail the hard way without out the embarrassment of getting stuck in the middle of some lake somewhere not knowing how to get back to shore. Loving this experience so far!
Fantastic, Educational,Entertaining. Great game that has taught me a lot about sailing but also very entertaining sailing against other people in the world. Developers are very engaged in making it better. Definitely more than just a game Highly recommended
Lots of fun! The boat models look great and it really feels like you are on a sailboat. I am particularly happy about the Catamaran being available as a DLC for single player - awesome!!
Fabulous App! MV Cup is a great app for any level sailor. It provides realistic instruction for beginners and great racing competition for more advanced sailors. There is something for everyone in this amazing app.
Its ok. But this game about water, so why water is not realistic? Low details water textures did not give yuo feeling speed of waszp foil boat. its like on ice. Missed Hobie 16 or something like catamaran. I pay monthly 13 eu, if this simulator have more boats and realistic water who gives immersive in sailing.
Totally LOVE this app, so real. Nice to have a app without shooting in it. This app is so realistic and well worth the investment. Awesome 360 degree view. What I really like about it is me and my wife got married on a sailboat. Great flashbacks of our special day. Can really relate to this. Sit back and relax Come……Sail away
Great! This has become my go to. The game has a good tutorial. Even if you don’t know sailing, you’ll catch on quick.
If you thirst for flight simulators, I think you will like this game.
This is my first review and this game deserves it.
4 stars instead of 5 because I’d like to be able to explore the famous spots in free sail. I’d like to be able to sail close to the Australian opera house or the Statue of Liberty.
Not bad, room for improvements. I don't want to sound negitive, the game is good but there's definitely room for improvements.
I think an option to turn on or off the waves would of been a better option than to just leave waves out all together. It would have definitely added to the realism because the water is just so flat.
It would also be nice to use the winches without having to move positions/teleport all the time. Have them more towards the stern of the boat just behind the wheel so everything is within arms reach. After all you're sailing solo and it can be awkward to tighten them in this game on the larger boat. Also the smaller boat needs a teleport position just infront of the tiller which would make sailing it feel more realistic instead of having to use the thumbsticks.
Lastly I think almost AUD$20 a month is a little too steep for the sailing pass as well when all you get is one other boat and 'pro' sailing. Too many gaming companies these days make you buy the game then pay extra a month or have micro transactions. It's a shame the days have gone where you used to buy a game and get everything the game has to offer.
Bait and switch. Many of the game's features are locked until you get a $99/year subscription. Other features are locked until you do multiplayer options. That's ridiculous.
Best VR sailing app. I have really enjoyed playing this. As a very occasional sailor it is great to gain some confidence. If you want to do racing then this game is perfect. I am not a racer, so here is my wishlist for the future.
-The ability to hoist/furl the sails with stopper controls - more to explore in free sail. Points of interest etc - chart plotting - anchoring - customisation of boat and sails - weather changes
As you can probably tell, I am more of a cruiser and therefore want some options to do this.
Despite this list I still really enjoyed it and think its a 4/5.
Fun but not worth the full price. I have been playing most days for about 2 weeks now so i think I have a good idea of the game. first the good, it is fun, easy to get into, has some teaching ability and it is cool to race others. Unfortunately, it also has many issues. Clunky interface, bad graphics and animation even for quest 2 (Check out the seagull if you want a laugh), flat calm water all the time, boring location backdrops, races that get old quickly as they are all much the same, wind always from the same general direction, a system that rewards those players who wait until late into the session to play because you can actually watch exactly how the previous players have raced before you have finished their turns allowing them to basically cheat by copying and maybe improving on their times. As for the live multiplayer, the one time I saw enough people for a race and joined the race was full of bugs, some had a completely different race presented to them so it basically did not work. Next issue is the price of pro access, 14 EUR a month for access to 1 other boat and a few "PRO" races, I simply do not see the value anywhere, I am not looking to learn about sailboat racing, I already know it, I have been sailing for many years in my own 13m sailboat and raced lasers when I was young. SO in conclusion, I paid 20EUR for a mediocre game that really needs some polish. 5 EUR is about its worth IMO. I really hope the developers continue to improve this game, it has great potential, it's just been released at the wrong price and before it is really ready.
Not bad. This is a nice, relaxing sailing game. Easy to get into, hard to master the finer points of sailing. Nice graphics. Loses one star as the boat doesn't have a real feel to it. Boats move on water, not just side to side. It needs to Bob in front. It felt just flat. Also registering was a pain. Take off headset, put back on headset, take off headset.... Then I was just bombarded with emails with everyone else's achievements. Yes you can unsubscribe, but I didnt tick the "receive emails" when I joined.
