Awesome. I received this game in a key giveaway competition from a Facebook VR group, Meta Quest Promotions. I thought enjoyed the game and plan to practice more when I get a chance. I loved every second though and can recommend this for anyone that loves shooters.
Big Guns and Bigger Enemies. Title says it all. Blast away baddies in this brutal roguelite. Each wave of enemies lets you add a new perk and at the end of a run and you collect loot to use to buy more weapons and upgrades. You also dual wield and get to pick a different weapon for each hand at the start of a run. The game really gives off doom vibes with its environment, enemies and music and just like its inspiration, it’s smooth as hell. Blasting away bad guys is super satisfying and gets more challenging as you progress each stage. It’s easy to get overwhelmed but so satisfying getting combos of multi kills over and over.
Awesome. A little bummed there’s only 1 boss right now, but can’t wait for the rest to be added. This one really surprised me… one of the best rogues I’ve played in VR, and I’ve played a million of em it seems. Keep up the great work devs!
Brutal, Addictive Gem That Nails the FPS. Plasmaborne is one of those rare VR titles that hooks you from the first wave. Each level throws a fresh challenge your way, and even in death, you feel like you're progressing—stacking cash to unlock a ridiculous arsenal of powerful weapons and upgrades. The gameplay loop is fast, intense, and highly addictive. What really stands out is how the level design and enemy waves constantly evolve, keeping you on your toes. There's a clear love for old-school shooters like DOOM and Quake, but with its own slick, modern twist. Movement feels great (teleportation grows on you fast), the music pumps you up, and the variety of upgrades allows for infinite ways to play your style.Considering this is the studio’s first game, the polish and performance are seriously impressive. It's a solid, well-rounded title that deserves a place in any VR gamer's library.Try it—you might just lose track of time.
Lots of potential in the EA title. On paper people might see roguelite and be turned off by the title, however Plasmaborn has got that addictive gameplay loop nailed down. Its has the potential to become one of the true gems of the genre in VR.Working your way through a series of rooms (chosen from a pool of rooms)You have to do one simple thing......kill everything in sight!Using an range of different weapons, each combat room completion reward you with a perk card. Its these perk cards that allow players to make some really crazy builds and its what keeps each run fresh. On completion or death you get currency to unlock new weapons, and powers.Powers are special skill that run on a self regenerating resources of its own. Ranging from time slowing to spawning a sword or rocket launcher and adds another layer to the game. Please note at the time review the game is in EA so only the first zone is in the game (once you complete a 8 room run with a boss) All you can do is repeat although with different weapons, perk cards to keep you playing (unlocking and upgrading everything will take some time thou)The foundations for an strong addictive gameplay roguelite loop has been laid out for its EA launch.(pick it up now if you want to see it develop....the dev seem open to ideas and feedback!, help shape the game!)Or wait a bit later whilst more levels are added.Either way Im continuing to grind my character!Ill update the review everytime a major update drops. Now its the case of seeing more levels being added as well as anything else they can come up with.
