The biggest surprise on Quest 2. I have to say, this is by far the biggest surprise out of all of the games I've bought for Quest 2. I didn't think I would be disappointed, but I had no idea just how much you get with this game. The variety of tracks, the variety of cars and upgrades, the different levels of expertise, the choice between normal racing and a type with rockets and land mines, the variety of perspectives you can choose between while driving. To say nothing of all the mini-games you can play; car soccer, exploding tag, king of the road, mini-mini racing. For the price, you get 20x more with this game than you do for some others that cost twice as much. This game is absolutely 100% worth the purchase.
Good game that wiped all my progress. This game is good, don't get me wrong. I think that if you want a small little racing game with a decent amount of cars and quite a bit of content, and pretty fun gameplay, you might like this game. I did at first as well, but after a while I became bored of it- i realized it doesn't scratch the itch I have for racing.
So I uninstalled for a bit because I wanted some space. I knew I'd wanna come back to it.
And I reinstalled it today. All my progress is gone. I have no interest in doing all that again, and unfortunately I've passed the refund time by miles now. So this is a warning- if you make progress in this game, consider yourself locked in. I am lucky I used store credit on the game, but it still sucks nonetheless.
The essential race game, worth far more. - very fun and accessible gameplay with lots of content, can be played seated or standing - 5 ways to control the car (thumbstick, in-game wheel, 2 types of joystick motion controls, in-game RC controller) with 6+ cameras (in-car, above-car or a high level view of the track) allows for all kinds of combinations - beautiful and individual visuals and audio for each track, lots of cars and tracks - difficulty and game speed options allow for easy to very hard gameplay - many ways to play, including normal race and weaponized X race (where cars get rockets and mines for example) with separate career progressions - additionally has a multitude of minigames similar to tag, football, arena, disappearing floor and other cool stuff - seamless multiplayer for all the game modes and minigames - doesn't drain the battery, can be played for 3 hours without charging cable (which is great for Quest 2)
Promising.. but buggy. First and foremost, the graphic while "cartoonise" is vividly stunning for a Quest game. It also has a unique game which most Quest racing games do not.
However given the nature of the "RC" race, the roads are much narrower which makes it harder to control using the "in car" display. Hence most people would opt for the "third party" view aka "mario kart" way of controlling the car. The problem is that in some stages, with the billboard on top of the cars. Not only will this temp blind your vision, it would feel like you are crashing on to the billboards when u are driving.
Also it does not help when you switch to the quest view centre adjustment, upon returning to the game all the game audio would be gone. The only way to get the audio back is to restart the game.
I really hope that the developer could fix these bugs to make the game "playable" for most users.
One of my favorite quest games! Rc pro am and rock n roll racing were some of my favorite games back in the day. It seems that the developers felt the same way. This game is worth more than you have to pay. The first time I started it up I couldn’t stop smiling! It takes those classic games and brings them to a whole new level! The graphics are great, the controls are exactly the way they should be and my god, if you can’t find a camera angle that suits you, there is something wrong with you. I can’t wait to play it again tomorrow. It’s my favorite title for the quest so far. If your into racing games this is a must have! Developers, thank you so much! I love this game! 10/10
Extremelly fun. The user interface is just perfect. The ability to play like you are inside a kart car, or controlling a remote control car is amazing. It's like a Mario Kart Upgrade well done in VR. The only problem is due to the high motion sickness effect at least for me. It's so fun, you don't wanna stop playing but then you feel nausea and is forced to stop.
The kid-like joy of toy cars. One of the best VR experiences to date. Trust me, I've tried them all. Nothing beats the joy of controlling a tiny car and watching it zip through your playspace. Buy this game just to experience the beauty of miniature <> giant perspective.
SUPERB RACER!! A++. Well if you get motion sickness this racing game is brilliant. It has so many camera angles/views to suit ALL comfort levels. I personally play from above like micro machines style. This game is so much fun the art, graphics, playability cars, tracks are all just top notch. Easily the best racer on here and incredibly fun I'm multiplayer. I dont at all get motion sickness playing the way I do. If you have a good stomach tou can put yourself in the car too. Which, not for me though, sounds great! Floats of customizations to be done and upgrading etc. I enjoy this game overtime I play and it actually cheers me up if I'm feelin low it's that fun. A must have in any collection.
Total Blast! Bought this on sale and was blown away by how much fun it is. You can play from multiple perspectives, from hovering over the course and controlling the car like an RC vehicle to being behind the wheel in the driver’s seat. I’m pretty bad at it right now but am looking forward to getting better with practice.
Best racing game on the quest. I put off getting this game for a long time , I played touring karts and dash dash . Both were disappointing, they both tried too hard to be Mario kart clones , not every cart racer needs to have weapons and silly gadgets to be fun , this game gives you the option of turning that off , and unlike dash dash , it doesn’t require an online connection , this is a really fun game . But if you don’t have strong VR legs , the cockpit view will more than likely give you motion sickness, lucky for me I don’t get motion sickness, but the game does offer a ton of camera views , the graphics look good , there are a lot of car and equipment upgrades, as well as stages to race in , although they are really short ! But I still feel like this is the Best racing game on the quest 2 ! And al lot of fun!! Well worth the price 👍🏾
The bad: the game doesn't seem to glitch when im actually racing....however.... the menu systems have proved quite buggy. Or at the very least...finicky. it took me forever to learn how to push the menu buttons without hitting others or it acting like I double pushed. And the key start is hard to grab without turning the whole menu. And after you finish a race, the "continue" button takes a random amount of clicks or time before it continues. All frustrating but none of these affect these actual racing experience. ------ The good: This game feels huge. So many levels, tracks, cars, game modes, upgrades. It's like having a couple completley different games to play if you do it right. I already have my VR legs so I've experienced ZERO motion sickness. My first VR purchase was warplanes WW1. That took a week to play comfortably and a month to play with no tummy twisting at all. ------ The races are very short with lots of tight turns which keeps it from being boring and constantly feels exciting. There are a few things I dont understand. Like.... why do we get helmets unlocked? You NEVER see your helmet 😅
I really enjoy this game a lot more than I thought. I just wanted a racer that had good reviews. Im not really into races exclusively. Im more of a flight sim guy. This game has already brought me hours of fun and I've only played single player career with no weapons. Just arcade style racing.
Not amazing, but still very good. I'm in agreement with most others,i absolutely love it,but there are some small flaws. It looks great,i absolutely love it,i've not played as much as i'd have liked due to health issues, but so far,so good. Loads of fun to be had, only gave 4 stars for 2 reasons....
1...i'm a little heavy handed, and keep finding myself pressing down on the thumbstick and changing view half round a bend.Gonna have a look at settings to see if i can change this.
2...out of all the games i've got, this is probably the worst for motion sickness, changing views can help, but i really can't spend as much time on this as i'd like.I don't know if that's something the developers can work on,but for the moment,i'm using some travel sickness wrist bands....put them on 5 or 10 mins before playing, they're not perfect by any means, but for me personally, they do help a little bit.
Perfect. This game is AMAZING. I am literally blown away. I’ve been looking for a game that you can just have a good time and good laughs with people and this did it for me. My brother and I just played through the arcade and were in tears laughing in the bomb game and the one where you push people off the map.
Thank you guys for making this!! Unreal how good it is. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with it. Also, side note, this is hands down the best lobby communication in an oculus game I’ve seen so far. We almost never lost communication while playing whether in a lobby or in game.
AMAZING GAME. So worth the money and WAAAY better than the competition… rhymes with sash sash… way better.
still the best racer on oculus. i’m not typically a fan of arcade racers but strangely this is the only racer on oculus that can scratch that competitive itch. yes it has rocket boosts and missles but the driving is there. lot of arcade racers just don’t have that core down- but with mini motor, the physics are at least recognizable. i would love to see a “sim” mode one day, with realistic rules, qualify for pole, penalty flags, real world tracks and cars. like leave the physics the same and leave the style the same- it’d be great fun to drive a cute version of monza, with cute little versions of real life cars. although many of the cars are obviously influended by real life cars, it’d just be fun to have the actual brands.
this is still a must have if you have a quest and you love racing games/sims- i just wish there was more people playing online. any plans for drivatars in the near future? ai that behaves like the real drivers? id love to play online more against “real human” drivers- i think artificial representations would help encourage more and more people to go online.
Toycars. Bought Amzing action pack because of this game. Other two games are better. But it is more like toycars, people who love to play with models of trains and railroads will probably enjoy playing from the side wiev. Playing in the car doesn´t gives the real fell of race too. Physics works wrong, it is like the cars have no inertia at all. How I got unlocked next levels with my bad driving, no idea.
Best racer for Quest 2. If you’ve got the Quest 2 and a few bucks to spare you should definitely get this game. Insanely smooth racing, first person view looks amazing. The entire game graphically has been stylized perfectly. Don’t really mind for the Mario cart style game modes but the “Classic”, just racing mode is super fun. Grab some friends and you’ll have a bloody blast.
Only things that I could wish for is bigger/longer tracks, the ability to customize the lobby (ie. edit amount of laps, bots, no boost), maybe in the future switch gears (having a shifter like the wheel, or use the X,Y buttons on the left controller). Few other small things, more variety of the interiors of cars, same with the sound (a unique version for each car would be awesome). Finally being able to customize your cars livery, change around colors for the preset ones, or make your own all together. Even just being able to place some stickers where you want would be nice.
Honestly if you’re on the fence just get it, games go so quick you could do 10 and probably still refund, if you don’t end up liking it.
Great racing game for single player :). Love the steering wheel controls, and the large mad npc cars in single player mode. I'm not interested in multi-player games so worth mentioning to other single players.
Best VR Racing game, although lacking. The selection of cars are great. They all have their own stats and paint jobs. However, I do feel like the car selection could be a bit larger, along with more wacky cars like a tank or a pizza delivery van. Another thing to mention are the tracks. Although there are a great amount of tracks with lots of variety, Half of them are just the same track but with different timesets. Another thing the tracks don’t have are shortcuts. I’m honestly a tiny bit disappointed that there aren’t any. Other than that really, this game is pretty much the closest you can get to Mario Kart on VR.
Mini but fun. I’m reminded of the saying, it’s not the size that matters but what you do with it. I bought the game as part of a bundle. Wouldn’t have bought it otherwise and I’m very pleasantly surprised.
Yes, the tracks are very very short (mini?) but having played them for sufficient time to get to grips with the games core mechanics, they are serviceable. A decent game that clearly had/has huge potential only the length of the tracks hold it back from being 5 *****
