This is basically the ONLY game I play. I seriously feel like I could wreck shop with a bow after the countless hours I’ve put into this game. Love it. I really don’t remember the last game I played before this…? I’ll play other games every now and then, but this is seriously my go-to game.
No kids screaming in your ears constantly. No players eating your lunch while you’re trying to zone out.
Just me, my Q2, a bunch of arrows, and a sh*t ton of abominations taking headshots.
A class act. I have played this brilliant game more than any other in 4 decades of gaming, and much more than all other quest games put together. I think it's the best game I've ever played.
It's addictive but also delivers its rewards, challenges and variety in a very clever way so that you continue to find reasons to play.
The graphics are atmospheric and nicely themed between different levels. The teleport arrow is inspired and reduces transport tedium. The baddies are varied and nuanced, each with different stengths and weaknesses. They get better as you get better but can vary your techniques to kill them which adds to replayability. (You will develop a strong hatred for cherubs though, and their nasty fat faces.)
The VR elements are very well realised. The aiming and shooting are amazingly realistic and satisfying and a defining element. The shield is also excellent and becomes instinctive quite quickly. Bonking my first Cupid was a fulfilling experience. The teleport shard feels flakey sometimes but is a good idea.
And then there is an entire tower defence game, different variations of the main game, special charms, choice of crossbow or longbow... If they had a multiplayer mode I might never emerge. Overall, an extremely polished and playable game at every level (pun intended). Buy it.
Unchained!! If I could only play one game on the quest. This would be it. The whole game keeps evolving with the updates and tournaments. I don’t write a lot of review, but when someone asks me what game they should start off with. I recommend this game. The graphics and scenery are awesome, as well as the background music. That just seem to Immerse you into the realms. Although this is a single player game ( who knows they might update that as well?) I don’t seem to find myself bored with this game. The layout when you play the first time will be different the next time. Love that!!! Get a great arm work out too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

One of the most enjoyable archery RPG experiences I’ve had on VR. Bows feel realistic with velocity drop over distance, Levels feel ominous, challenging and rewarding once conquered, and the amount of different modes to choose from is great.
Leaderboards are a fun way to compete with friends of yours, or see how you rank up in different modes against other players in the world.
Get ready for a workout, because there’s hours of fun to be had on this gem. A must have for any fan of RPG / Archery games!
Best Game on the Quest 2. Pound for pound, this game blows every other game out of the water. The mechanics are super smooth and natural. You can stick to moving using the teleport arrow and shard, or you can turn on the joystick control for movement as well. I never get any motion-sickness or anything with this game. Shooting the bow and switching between arrows feels ridiculously intuitive.
Graphics of the enemies and environments are really great. The physics when enemies get hit feels very realistic. Sound is huge in this game. It really helps you learn where enemies are and if they've teleported. The variety of arrows is really fun once you get the hang of them.
In the main game mode, the maps and enemy placement reconfigure so you're always on your toes. As you get better at the game and unlock new arrows, the enemies get more difficult and the quantity of them updates. The bosses are ridiculously intimidating at first. You feel like a little ant fighting them but once you study up on them, it's all very attainable. Once you cycle through the 3 main levels, it starts over in a harder mode and you do it again but with more/tougher enemies. And you can keep playing and racking up your score until you die (which will definitely happen).
They keep things really interesting with all the accomplishments to unlock. Shoot enemies in a certain way or order. Hunt for hard to find enemies and kill a certain number of them. It's really addicting.
AND THEN, they've even got special modes where you play with all trick arrows, and other fun challenges
AND THEN, they've even got a castle-defense style mode. AND THAT has accomplishments to unlock as well. The global score boards are really fun. You can really see how you do compared to other players, even with stuff like distance, combos, headshots, multikills, etc.
I've played this game for a ridiculous amount of hours. Probably more than any other game I've ever played. It's by far one of the best values and most fun games you'll ever play.
Hours of Fun! This is my most favorite game on Quest! Hours of fun and it's adaptive, so every round you go through gets harder and harder, not to mention the different worlds! I love archery, but live in a small place, so this allows me to have a lot of fun and I get to shoot a ton of evil enemies!
Adictive and fun. The game is addictive and fun, I get why it has a high rating. Definitely value for money and worth five stars. I do however understand why some people including myself, might get a bit bored with it after a few hours. It’s too much of doing the same thing, with repeating scenes, and no goals to reach or change of scenery. I think it has a lot of potential to be even better, but worth five stars.
Near Perfect. This is the game I compare everything else to. It is quite hard but also has a tower defence mode, similar to the elven assassin game. I prefer the main game, where you move from start to end, but my wife enjoys the static defence mode.
Graphics and soundtrack are amazing and match the gameplay. I can see myself playing this as long as I own the Quest - this is unusual because I get bored easily and is testament to the quality of this game.
One of the most fun games. I played and got addicted to this game a long time ago. Now in 2022, I still continue to revisit this game because of how good the tracking and accuracy is when you shoot the arrows. It definitely feels polished compared to other bow and arrow games. Plus the achievements and challenges keep you engaged at all times.
Addictive! This is the game that gets me and my girl fighting over Oculus, I'm going to have to get her one, just so we have time to spend playing this game. I was having trouble getting my girl Tina interested in any of these VR games they always made her dizzy, she loves this and she's crushing my high score so I have to get back in there and beat her on the leaderboards. This game is so much fun.
Addicting game. I’m addicted!!! The game progresses, as you progress. One of the best shooting games on Oculus. It has comfort control, time elapsed, so I can play it until I need to recharge my headset. It’s also an ongoing game, so it’s well worth the purchase.
My Favorite Game. I play IDU much much more than any other game on my Oculus. I love the graphics and the ability to teleport, it keeps the vertigo down to a minimum. This game is truly the best on the Oculus platform. If you're hesitant, don't be, it's super fun, constantly changing, and the developers always have some new and upcoming challenges. The only thing I would change is the starting over from the beginning if you die at a later round. I think it should start at the beginning of that round. For example If I die in Abyss IV, I should start out again in Purgatory IV not Purgatory I.
One of the greatest games in VR. An addictive game, full of challenges and worth every penny. Despite seemingly repetitive, the randomised map sets keeps things interesting and the more you play the more difficult it gets but also more rewarding. For Dark Souls fans it's an absolute pleasure to explore and enjoy. The sound quality is great, but I do recommend playing with a headset, since it will help even more in determining the location of enemies. The bosses seem at first imposing and difficult, untill you acquire more specialised arrows. The graphics are also great, despite being minimalistic to other games, it does seem more real and easier to believe you're there. So far, I have been playing for days but I'm still having fun and enjoying every minute of it. Great job Devs 👍
Love this game. Endless replay ability- Looks great when you cast it too! Made a bunch of my friends buy headsets when they saw it on my FB Feed… Breathtaking visuals, great sound… It’s challenging and there are lots of different ways to approach it because there’s so many different types of arrows!
Each of the four levels have a totally different and unique feel- Hope we get a fifth at some point!
My favorite VR game. I’ve played this game once or twice a day since purchasing it a year and a half ago. It stays fresh, with new challenges added as my skills improve. The only downside to playing a lot is that my bow arm does get a bit sore. My wife knows that anytime I’ve “disappeared”, I’m downstairs playing this game. It’s addictive.
Review from an Archer (devs please read). BEST ARCHERY GAME EVER!!!
I've been shooting bows for ten years now and when I heard about this game, I was skeptical as to how good it really could be, especially after playing all the other VR archery games. All I can say; no regrets!!
From an archer's standpoint, I was amazed at how one-to-one everything is in the game compared to shooting a bow in real life, from the draw to the aim to your anchor point to the release and follow -through.
From a gamer's point if view, I love the graphics, the upgrades and how the achievements for once play such a crucial role. Whether it be more hidden treasures, better specialty arrows, or even new locations, the achievements are key and they are so satisfying to complete. The fact that you can adjust your controls based on your comfort preference (e.g.: left or right hand shooting, teleport or free movement locomotion) was a HUGE plus for me.
The game is overall perfection, but I do have a few suggestions for the developers, who are obviously already putting so much time and effort into this fantastic adventure:
Make the archery experience more customizable. That is:
[•] Give the player the opportunity to lengthen or shorten the bow's maximum draw length (I've got a longer than average draw, so it's more difficult for me to comfortably and consistently anchor, but my girlfriend, who is small doesn't get the full power of a full draw)
[•] Allow the player to choose whether the arrow gets shot from the right or left side of the bow(like Lars Andersen). This may seem like a minor detail, but it greatly alters your shot based on how you're used to aiming.
[•] Add more bow types, like having a longbow AND a recurve and both could have their attributes that make them special. I.E.: The longbow would hit harder, resulting in knocking down enemies and would be overall quieter. The recurve, on the other hand, would shoot much faster, launch arrows much further before dropping, and have the likelihood of going through a couple of enemies. By the way, these are actual real life performance differences between the two bow types. Ask me how I know😉😎🏹
All in all, this is the ultimate VR experience and anyone looking for a great game should add this to your library. You won't regret it. 12/10
This Game is Amazing. You just teleport by arrow, discover enemies, destroy enemies, die, upgrade/unlock, repeat, and man, it’s so fun.
I started to think there were only a few enemy types. But after many deaths, there’s new (boss) portals with new enemies. The achievements and realistic feel of shooting a bow and arrow make this something I keep coming back to.
In death: unchained. I used to practice archery daily, then I moved to where I am mo longer able to. Now with this game I can practice once more. It isn't exactly the same, but near enough to get the form right. The game also allows for multiple body positioning, so I can shoot standing, on one knee, leaning around corners, etc. Except for an actual draw weight, pretty spot on!
