I'm a 30 something adult who has played top tier games all my life. After getting the meta quest 2 on Christmas day, I spent hours pouring over reviews and videos looking for the best of the best games. This one came highly recommended and has not disappointed. After picking up 7 games including a few shooters, I can honestly say this is the best shooter for new players. Unfortunately two others have caused some serious motion sickness due to the free movement mechanics and fast motion. This game uses the teleport mechanic and it's very easy on the brain when it comes to processing motion. This game feels amazing to me whereas the others I am sick within 20 minutes. thankfully I can play this game for hours with no issues. The graphics and controls are amazing and smashing up robots is incredibly satisfying and fun. If you're new to VR and you love shooters, this is the one to start with while you get used to more intense motion. I hope to play the other games someday when I'm more adjusted to VR but for now I am incredibly pleased with smashing up robots in this game.
Don’t say no to teleportation before…. This is a review to people like me who weren’t playing this game, because it only offers teleportation and not smooth motion.
In general, I’m not a fan of the teleportation thing. I like realism and so even though this game looked amazing I didn’t play it for the longest time.
Now I get it. You have to teleport to be able to play this game. You have to be able to put yourself in a position to grab a robot from behind and tear it’s head off lightning fast.
It’s just part of the gameplay. This isn’t an adventure game. You’re not exploring a world of robots, solving puzzles, trying to find the key to professor evil-face’s diabolical schemes.
Your goal is to disassemble as many robots as possible and the ideal way to do that is to teleport near them, on top of them, behind them, before they have time to react, grab their body in one hand, their head in the other, and rip them apart like momma showed you back when she used to pop the heads off the little cute chipmunks at paw paws farm in Saskatchewan.
And while I do generally preferred adventure style/rpg games over arcade style, this is a really fun concept and I have really enjoyed it.
So for this one game, I’ll give you permission to teleport. 🤙😝
My favourite VR shooter (25% off). ** tiny.cc/RoboRecall25 ** for 25% off!
I hate playing VR shooters, but Robo Recall my only exception.
I saw the trailer and some gameplay of this game and immediately bought it. No regrets.
- You can catch enemy bullets!! And throw them back!!!! - You can throw your guns at them! - You can pick up an enemy and throw them at the others!! - Easy, quick reloads for smooth gameplay - Some aim assist is fairly good
The amount of different ways you can play this game really separates it from other shooters. I really recommend this to everyone.
Robo Recall is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Epic Games for Oculus Rift and Touch virtual reality headsets. It was released in 2017. The game received positive reviews from critics, who praised its gameplay, graphics, and overall level of polish. Some reviewers noted that the game's fast-paced action and intense shootouts made for an exciting and immersive VR experience. However, the game's short campaign and lack of multiplayer options were criticized by some reviewers. Overall, Robo Recall is considered as one of the best VR game which can provide great action and thrilling experience.
This is the best 2016 game. Their needs to be more games like robo recall seriously how long have you play a vr game we’re you can take the enemy weopeon blow them up juggle them teleport slap themselves with their own leg throwing them on a wall the hilarious comentary great replayabily combos and the robots dialogue is Hilarious my new favorite game an absoulute must buy no doubt in my mind please can we have a sequel
Fun game. I love the game but I'm a little stuck because I don't know how to make them go into the Vortex because I will throw one and it will go and then the next one I throw will not go. what am I missing help with greatly be appreciated! But getting back to the review it's a great game to play and it's a lot of fun just beating up on robots and shooting and stuff like that it's worth your time and money.
25% OFF using my link. Get 25% off using tinyurl.com/mr2ezbup to buy this game. This is one of the best shooters available for the Quest. It has unique gameplay and crisp graphics. Get it if you don’t already have it and you won’t regret it.
Excellent Game that Never Gets Old. This was my first game (I think) that I ever owned on the Quest 2. After almost 3 years it is still one of my favorites. Blasting and tearing through robots never gets old and the difficulty is just right.
Watching my wife freak out as the robot spiders were approaching her was worth the money alone.
The visuals have held up well and few titles have entered the marketplace that can compare to RoboRecall's solid gameplay.
Fun. Just plain fun. Apparently this is a classic. I didn't know that, but it's a ridiculously fun game. Levels are long enough to have fun and short enough to be manageable if you fail. The story is cute and funny, and the gameplay is enjoyable; you can shoot, but also interact with the robots, which are modeled as ragdolls. This is one of my go-to games when I need a few minutes of mindless destruction!
Its the System Seller. Makes you feel like Neo in the Matrix and RoboCop together but even better. High paced, packed with classic arcady music and perfect guitar riffs. Rip and tear robots, droids you name it. Juggle kills, shotgun tornados, sniper headshots, double kills, multi clutch through levels boost your score with multipliers and totally destroy the bosses. I played the original game back in 2018 and omg this game was the best introduction to VR and almost 5 years later this unplugged version does the job well. 15 dollars is a steal!
This game is amazing! I love the fact that the game has great displays, awesome features, high speed game play, and the cutscenes are great to, and this was my third favorite VR game that I got, and I’ve played it 7 times, and it never got boring. This has been my favorite VR game ever since I got the quest 2, and if you like destroying robots, and teleporting, I recommend this game 100%!
Great game, even better with guns. Let’s just say you have fists, and there’s a robot in front of you. There is a 95% chance you punch the robot. Which is exactly what I have done. To add on to that, here’s a referral code for 25% off your purchase of Robo recall. Perfect for those who want to eliminate the evil AI that compliments your fighting skills. https://www.oculus.com/appreferrals/Breegis/1906871599408213/?utm_source=4
Very good game. This game is a crazy bullet hell with some great visuals to compliment it and is a must have on quest 2 where your movement isn’t restricted by loss of tracking or wires getting in your way. But I don’t like how you can’t use the right stick to turn because it’s hard for me to play it. I play in a small room and will usually smack my hand on a wall, and I hope they at least make it a accessibility feature in the future if they ever update again
Absolutely one of my favorite games. I love this game! I have played and replayed it and still love it so much. It is an action shooter that can be played more or less in one spot with simple pivoting, but there is a 360⁰ aspect to it (traveling is fine via teleport so not too much room is necessary).
This game is delightful! The mechanics are fun, shooting robots is great but treating them apart or throwing their own bullets back at them are also options! And then this game really earns its 5 ☆ reading with clean graphics, clever and humorous writing, and a straightforward but decent plot.
Honestly my only complaint is that there isn't MORE to this game. GIVE ME A SEQUEL PLEASE!
Even though the game isn't huge, it has so much replayability. It keeps track of scores and there's an all star mode so you can compete against yourself or others with high scores and global rankings.
Really, i just love this game so much i really can't over state it. I can't imagine anyone not liking this game. Buy it.

Best VR immersion INTHE OCULUS Quest2. Great Robot shooter, the design and sounds are incredible. This game is probably the best robot shooter game in the oculus and could be as good as Raw Data if it was multi player. This game was the reason I purchased a oculus. Nice storyline. If you like this you may want to try Drop Dead Dual Strike. Zombies instead of robots but multi player. You gotta get this if shooting robots is your thing!
OK now review. This is a highly polished game. An all time classic. Robots attack from all angles at one point I got so immersed in the game that I smashed my lamp shade on the ceiling. I really like this game. Just be careful on your furniture. 🤣
A short but sweet game. I remember playing this game a few years ago when trying out the Rift. Being able to experience the same game but without any cables is truly a wonderful experience. Even after beating the main quest, I find myself coming back to this game to redo the levels and see if I can get more stars. The gameplay is smooth, the action is spectacular, and I love tearing the arms off robots and using them to beat them to death. The main quest is short at ~2 hours, but it's a fantastic game nonetheless.
Too Good. Only Got My Oculus A Few Weeks Ago, Decided To Have A Look Around In The Store And I Find This Treasure Of A Game. If You’re Having Trouble Picking New Games To Buy, Look No Further, Get This One, You Won’t Regret It, Unless You Don’t Like The Absolute Manic And Chaos It Throws You Into!
Desktop/Rift version is better... Would have been 5/5 stars if it looked as good on Quest2 as it does on Rift/Desktop, but textures and meshes are noticeably lower in quality. 4 stars because it is still a very fun game to play, probably one of the most fun games I've played in VR since Oculus first launched, but the visual quality just isn't as good as I have come to expect as a gamer (and as a game developer.) UE certainly isn't the limiting factor here.
Great port from PC to quest! Just as good as the original, obviously with some downgrades to graphics but nothing that is noticeable during gameplay. I honestly forgot this was on my quest 2 and not my rift hooked to my PC. This is a must get for any vr headset.
