Beat Blaster is a VR game of shooting, running and dodging where everything happens to the music rhythm. An original mix of styles where each game will offer you a new challenge.
30 SONGS & AMBISONIC AUDIO Each level introduces a novelty and all the games are different thanks to the intelligent generation of levels. Ambisonic sound lets you experience the music in an entirely new way.
4 WAYS OF MOVEMENT You can choose between the classic VR controller, the new 3dRudder, tilting the head or the intuitive and original control based on the movement of the head.
NO MOTION SICKNESS Beat Blaster is a VR game with a high-speed component. But all moves in the game are designed without rotating the player, thus minimizing the probability of motion sickness.
EASY RULES To clear a level, you must reach the end of the song without dying. You have a Blaster with infinite ammunition and a single life to dodge or kill all the enemies that will appear to the rhythm of the music.
Underrated game with unique movement. I’m surprised this method of locomotion hasn’t been used for more games. It does take a bit of getting used to but once it clicks you’re good to go and it feels amazing.
For me, I play best when sitting cross-legged on the floor with a pillow behind me and that’s how I made it through all levels. If I try to play sitting in a chair or standing up I’m like a complete beginner all over again and can barely get past the first level!
I like most of the game music (level 2 tune is a banger and wish it reappeared in later levels) and I usually select which level to play based on that rather than difficulty. With that in mind it would be cool if the song could be previewed before entering the game as I can’t always remember!
Thanks devs- sorry for not leaving a review sooner.
Great game. Ruined by terrible stutter. Not sure what has happened but this game used to be alot smoother now it suffers with a terrible framerate and stuttering since the last two updates. Please fix this dev. It ruins what was a fun game, the framerate is just awful.
good game. The previous version was good, but there have been a few bad updates. The speed of movement with the thumbstick should not have been this fast before. This makes it too fast and hard to do. Tweaking the thumbstick is difficult. I would like to see an option to at least specify a maximum movement speed.
This app is wonderful to use offline and is a powerful game that can easily be played while sitting down. So it would be quite good for a VR beginner to experience it, but it is too difficult at this movement speed.
Fantastic action shooter. The devs have done a great job with their latest updates in fixing the choppy framerate issue, while also adding a tutorial level and improving the graphics. Runs and looks great now on the Q2.
The main game is 30 levels long, while progressively upping the challenge with more enemy types to deal with. Each level is procedurally generated, meaning no 2 runs will ever be the same, which also adds to the totally addictive nature of the game in trying to get the best score you can and making it onto the leaderboards. I've actually made it to the number 1 spot on one of the later levels. 😀
The head-based movement system is absolutely bang on and very precise once you get used to how it works. It should only take 5 or 10 minutes to get comfortable with it. It's one of those very addictive games that keeps pulling you back in for one more attempt at trying to improve on your high scores. If you enjoy action shooters, such as Pistol Whip, I honestly think you'll love this game. I highly recommend it. 👍
Hidden Gem! Some of these App Lab games definitely belong to be on the main Oculus store, and Beat Blaster, without a doubt, is one of them.
I strongly suggest the head-based movement system, because once you get used to it, it becomes 2nd nature, even for an ancient gamer, like me. Lol. The action is great, the music fits in perfectly, and the randomness/unpredictability of each level keeps you coming back for more. When you die, it's an instant restart, which is so important for an action shooter like this. It's easily worth the asking price, and if I could, I'd give it a 10/10. It's just a great, fun game.
Fantastic Game! I played this game ages ago on PC VR and already loved it back then. I was so happy when I saw that it is now available on Quest because it is actually one of my favourite VR games of all time! The gameplay is super exciting because you have to be aware of your surroundings, shoot, dodge and move at the same time without being to slow. With new levels new mechanics are introduced. The fast paced music really suits the gameplay. You can choose between different movement methods but I prefer the head movement option because playing with it feels very immersive to me. Someone else mentioned that using the head movement option feels like surfing, I personally would compare it more to skiing if you crouch down just a little bit but it is definetly a lot of fun how ever you want to put it!
Fast and wild. This game has developed into an absolute party hit in my circle of friends. Watching is almost as much fun as playing. You fight your way through short but never equal levels with countless enemies and obstacles while shooting with two handguns and short bursts or a submachine gun with a higher rate of fire. The special thing about it is the controls, because direction and speed are controlled by tilting the head, which can be learned very quickly, but can quickly go wrong at the high game speed. I'm having endless fun with this game and I'm glad for another hit from Ivanovich Games. They just got it!
Check out the trial first. I ended up getting a code for this on a 3rd party site, but I should have tried it out or watch videos somewhere first. Thought since it had beat in the title it was going to be rhythm based and the graphics in the trailer looked cool. Didn't read all the reviews fully so I had no idea how it controlled. I crashed into the menus waiting for the first round to start not fully understanding what they meant by the head controls. Nothing was explained that well. I'll have to go back to it another time but I feel like I wasted my money.
My new obsession!! I stumbled across this and immediately thought this that it looks like a lot of fun so I gave it a whirl.
I can honestly say this is so much fun and the way you're in control of your movements is very clever.
It's one of those games where you just have to have one more go to see if you can beat the level or beat your high score.
You get an adrenaline rush zooming thorough a level avoiding all the obstacles. So much fun.
Things I would like to see changed....
1. When you're firing the guns, the Lazer/Bullets aren't too noticeable. I'd beef that up.
2. The sound FX are a bit weak, and could also do with beefing up.
3. I'd like to see some sort of graphic consequence of you hitting an object.
These are just minor quibbles, but I'm sure the developers have a lot of ideas up their sleeve for this game and I look forward to see how this game progresses in the coming months.
this game is AMAZING!!!!! the levels change each time they only increase in difficulty but even if you're stuck on level one it's never the same level one it changes every time you play it this game is amazing and for 10 bucks wow I love it... and then each level they add new enemies or obstacles but level 2 will never be the same as the last level two level three will never be the same as the last level three
One of the most adictive games on Quest. I love this game! is adictive and fun, and you are always trying to beat your own times, or the global online times.
Great Game. Stumbled across this and checked the demo out, straight away I bought the full game. Really good, music is decent and I like the way it always changes when you repeat a level! It's addictive, keep up the good work!
