fun AND burns lots of calorries! Wow this game is a blast! I just bought it last week, but have played it quite a bunch, and it's a great workout, perfect combination of exercise and fun. Today I just burned 586 calories in 1 hour of playing RagnaRock, which is significantly more than I usually do playing Beat Saber (300-350 cal/hr) or RacketNX (200-250 cal/hr). If you smash these hammers HARD you will be sweating and losing weight in no time! Plus the music is great, gameplay is engaging, the bronze/silver/gold medals are great, lets you re-play through older levels again and again, until you get the gold. All in all, this game is HIGHLY recommended, the best purchase I ever made here!
My one vr game to rule them all. Excellent music, great rhythm game for both casual and hard core gamers/ drummers.
Couldn't stand the music from beat sabre and most other pop trash rhythm games. Opened up a whole new genre in my world. Folk metal.
Originally I owned this on steam and never could get it to run that well on the original quest. I think top 50 was my best. But I kept trying. Unfortunately I was then diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma (2 years ago) I wasn't expected to last 6 months without treatment but some how I kicked on. I'm still in the same boat now but at least able to play some ragnarock on the side.
I thanked the developers in the steam forum for Such an excellent game and for giving me some little bit of energy and motivation not to get fit but just to move and breath, use my lungs.
The developers sent me a nice little package with a couple of t-shirts, coffee mug, hat and believe it or not they also sent me a key for ragnrock on quest, along with ALL dlc. They said it had touched their hearts.
I now play ragnarock flat out on the quest standalone now and I might add strangely on the quest 3 performance is top notch better than when I was wired or using virtual desktop.
I have moved up to difficulty 5 in most songs and have hit the top 20 in quite a few songs. As well as a few top tens..
Review from a top 100 player. This game is quite possibly the best rhythm game in vr. It's got everything you could want in a good rhythm game. From high skill gameplay for the competitive players where your accuracy in the songs improves your score. To really fun, well mapped levels for all players to enjoy. The multiplayer aspect of the game is so much fun to play against other people in. And you'll get a wide range of people in it from those who have just started out and getting used to the game to those who will likely go whizzing off into the distance never to be seen again the moment the level starts. (I am normally here so if you see me in game give a wave!)
It also has custom songs with a PP ranking system similar to other rhythm games with new songs being mapped daily. I think from personal experience you'll struggle to ever get bored with this game. Always new levels to play on the custom scene and the official levels are really good too with different difficulty levels for different levels of player. All that topped with a good competitive scene and lots of friendly faces in multiplayer make it, in my opinion the best rhythm game in vr.
Another really great part of this game is that you can play in single player mode against the ghosts (personal bests) of your friends and yourself. As well as the current number 1 score on the leaderboard. You see them as phantom ships with a skeleton crew next to you in the race. Which is a good way to see that you've been improving when you go back to a song you've not played in a while and completely destroy your best and that friend who was miles ahead of you last time you played it.
Overall I'd recommend this game if you like rock/metal music or liked guitar hero (it plays a bit like guitar hero but on drums and in vr). Or if you just like rhythm games in general this is one of the best out there.
WARNING!! Super Addictiv. Tried the 20 min free trial and After that 20min i bought the Game and all of the DLC‘s , this Game is Perfect 4 me. Try it urself if u like Music Games Like Beat Saber. If Ure wondering if the music is ur Type, just try it and u will think that the music Match Perfect with this Game, in my Spotify playlist is none Heavy Metal oder Pirate music , but its just Perfect in this Game. If u played Assassins Creed 3/Black Flag u will find some of These See Mans Songs and u get Flashback and Nostalgic Moments. Big Shoutout to the Devs!
Great, I'll keep playing it. Personally I don't like rock at all, I really hate it, but luckily I can insert my personalized songs and hit the drums with the music I prefer. Furthermore, there is also the Italian language which, in a panorama of games where the Italian language is almost completely absent, is something I appreciate very much.
This game is the Hammer. There's a good reason why so many people give this game 5 stars. The trailer shows it all. It's one concept pushed over the top brilliantly.
The tracklist given in game is varied and excellent, and though challenging, it keeps being fun. You'll find yourself learning to drum rune sequences instinctively, building familiarity and skills as you play.
Running against the litteral ghost of your best time is fun as hell. The cartoonish design is great. Movement capture is very decent, provided that you take 1 (max 2) min(s) per session to calibrate your field of play. Good sitted workout too.
What's more, there's more than 2,600 custom songs in repositories and those are easy enough to add to the game in a handful of drag and drops. One evening of browsing and my Ragnarock library expanded with 161 songs.
Not to mean to pass the raid packs (personal favorites: Gloryhammer and Hellfest). Support devs so they can make more of such great games. 👍
The best vr rhythm game I've played. I've played a couple of rhythm games like beat saber, bandspace, pistol whip, etc. and this is by far the one I've really loved more than anything else and has me coming back for more. and the dlc and the game itself is much more affordable too
I haven't played a song that I haven't had fun playing before, and this game has showed me some really good bands that I listen to outside the game now. plus if you're playing multiplayer you can play any dlc songs that people own too
easy songs still feel challenging in their own way. hard songs will tire you out, but are still incredibly fun and don't feel impossible to beat. and the people in multiplayer are super chill and fun to play with
some bands that I would really love to see here would be more nanowar of steel songs, unleash the archers (which imo would be a really fitting band for this game) and id love more dragonforce songs too. but definitely get this game. you won't regret it ^^
Highly addictive. My favorite rhythm game by far. When you get into a zone you feel so powerful making that ship go faster. I really love the music…not typically a heavy metal fan but these songs are so catchy that I find myself signing along while playing. I’ve purchased every DLC they offer and will continue to purchase more as they come along. Don’t miss out on this amazing game.
Amazing game! This game is so fun, I played beat saber a lot and kinda got bored, idk what it is about this game but I just find it so much more fun, it’s really difficult and the songs and map design are amazing, worth every cent
Great game to move on to from Beat Saber. I have been playing Beat Saber for years and wanted to try another rhythm game. This game doesn’t look like much, but once you start playing and start getting your first gold medals, you will realize you have a huge smile on your face and want to keep playing “just one more song.” This game is great for exercise. I felt like I could eat a whale after an hour and a half of gameplay. If you are a fan of “Viking metal”, rock, or rhythm games in general, try this game! You won’t regret it.
Love it! I just started this game the other day and so far, I'm really enjoying it! I love the music and the visuals and the gameplay hits the "guitar hero" spot of my brain just right
