n The Obsessive Shadow, you take on the role of Liam, a 9-year-old boy left alone in his home after the power suddenly goes out, plunging the house into suffocating darkness. Armed with only a flashlight, you must navigate the unsettling dangers of the night as you are being watched throughout the night. Your mother's voice on the phone is your guide to surviving, But as her instructions grow more confusing and the unease deepens, the safety of her words begins to feel increasingly fragile. Something is watching, a shadowy figure moving just out of sight, waiting for you to slip up.
As the hours creep forward, the once-familiar home becomes an unfamiliar labyrinth of fear, each corner hiding the possibility of confrontation with the lurking entity. Testing your courage and instincts as you struggle to stay one step ahead of the unseen threat. Your mother's voice remains your lifeline, but survival demands more than just following her instructions—it requires vigilance, quick thinking, and a determination to face the overwhelming dread. Will you endure the relentless terror and make it to morning, or will the suffocating darkness claim you before dawn?

The shadows are gone?! Update:As there's been no response from the developer yet, I'm going to request a refund. If it's ever updated to put the real time shadows back in I'll purchase the game again.Original Review:I played the demo and I was extremely impressed with the real time shadows cast by the flashlight. Few Quest games have lighting this sophisticated. The atmosphere was excellent.I never imagined an effect like this would be removed in an update, especially in a horror game where real time shadows greatly add to the atmosphere. It's ironic that a game called "The Obsessive Shadow" had its shadows removed. If the real time lighting was removed to increase resolution can an option be added to switch back to the lower resolution and keep the real time shadows? A "resolution vs graphical fidelity" switch? The new lighting model really killed the atmosphere for me. It's not creepy anymore. I was excited to play the full version, but after seeing it now I don't want to.

Glitchy. So, I really like the idea of the game, but overall it's not technically good. Turning breaks this game, and not in a good way. If you're talking on the phone, or turn next to a wall, you fall in. Once this happens collision decides it's going to hide in the closet without you, as I could no longer walk up stairs, since I kept falling through the floor. I also noticed is there is no 3D Audio so if you are using headphones, you can't actually hear where the knock is coming from. The TV introduction sounded like it came from outside, and Mom's voice sounded like it was coming through the ceiling instead of the phone. It's a shame I couldn't make it further then the first window scare, as this game has a lot of promise, but due to the fact that the game breaking bugs prevent playing further, I can't recommend it.

Make Pablo rich he deserves it. It is very hard to make a VR game especially an indie game. So everyone show your love and support to Pablo. This is the best game you will ever find on VR forget about gorilla tag forget about beat saber forget about Animal Compony! This is the best game. Great simple spook house game, but…. [EDIT] This originally was a four star rating, but I have changed it to five star due to the developers updating efforts which have enhanced the resolution quality of the game. [END EDIT]This is the first time where I'm about to give a great review, but with a caveat to make sure people are aware of the differences between the Quest version and the one you would get from the Steam library.I originally had this on my wishlist in Steam for quite a while. I was excited to see that it was released today. When I checked out the new launch trailer, I noticed the Meta logo at the bottom along with the other available places you can play it; Steam, and PSVR.I figured, great, it would be stored directly on my Quest 3 headset if I just get it through the Meta store (same price). As soon as I started playing it, I could see how compressed it was. Something didn't feel right right in the very beginning with the "emergency broadcast system" words on the TV screen. Quite a bit of aliasing as well as when things got dark you could tell there's a lot of banding when your light is hitting solid colored objects. This is not a complaint to the developer because the demo itself on Steam is 14 gigs big so clearly quite a bit of sacrificing had to be done in order for it to be a practically downloadable game onto the Quest hard drive and that's completely understandable (and expected). When I compared the above attributes I experienced from the Quest version against the Steam demo the quality was like night and day in a much improved way with the Steam version. So I definitely recommend this game overall (even on the Quest) because it will give you a very scary VR experience in general. (Especially to though who want the haunted house experience, but don't want to go through all the complicated "work" like Phasmophobia.) but I felt that it's important for everyone to be aware that even in a single house environment, such as this game, there is going to be graphical quality differences between Quest and Steam. That being said, personally, I am going to refund the Quest version and plan to get the Steam version instead because I am fortunate enough to be able to have the options of a smooth VR experience on either platform and the Steam version is very much more polished. [EDIT] After getting in touch with the developer to acknowledge his efforts to update, I was given a game-key in order to get the game again for the Meta Quest 3 since I got it on Steam after this original review. Super nice of him to do that.Overall, this game works really well for the standalone headset, in fact, even at its 7XX megabyte size, I feel he could un-compress it even more and get it even closer to the Steam VR resolution at a couple gigs or more big and it would still very conveniently downloadable at that bigger size. [END EDIT]

Why can’t I refund. Be very sure before getting this game cause if you don’t like it it’s 10 dollars you cant get back I played the game for five minutes and tried to refund the same day and it said I couldn’t cause I played past 2 hours or played past 14 days which I did not (later change since I didn’t know how to reply to dev) your game is good though I decided to try and save money for an upcoming game I’m waiting for but when I went to refund it said I was past the time and or day limit even though I did it same day and played it for a very short amount of time (2nd reply to dev) I believe Ill just give the game a chance it’s a good game so I’ll try playing longer
